1 ULB நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை தெரிந்திருக்கிறவர்களோடு பேசுகிறேன். சகோதரர்களே, ஒரு மனிதன் உயிரோடிருக்கும்வரைக்கும் நியாயப்பிரமாணம் அவனை ஆளுகிறது என்று தெரியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்களா? BSB BSB: Do you not know, brothers (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives?
2 ULB அது எப்படியென்றால், கணவனையுடைய ஒரு பெண் தன் கணவன் உயிரோடிருக்கும்வரை நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி அவனுடைய நிபந்தனைக்கு உட்பட்டிருக்கிறாள்; கணவன் மரித்தபின்பு கணவனைப்பற்றிய பிரமாணத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாகி இருக்கிறாள். BSB BSB: For instance, a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage.
3 ULB ஆகவே, கணவன் உயிரோடிருக்கும்போது அவள் வேறொரு மனிதனை திருமணம்செய்தால் அவள் விபசாரி என்று சொல்லப்படுவாள்; ஆனால், கணவன் மரித்தபின்பு அவள் அந்தப் பிரமாணத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையானபடியால், வேறொரு மனிதனை திருமணம் செய்தாலும் அவள் விபசாரி இல்லை. BSB BSB: So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.
4 ULB அதுபோல, என் சகோதரர்களே, நீங்கள் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிரோடு எழுந்த கிறிஸ்து என்னும் வேறொருவருடையவர்களாகி, தேவனுக்கென்று பலன் கொடுப்பதற்காக கிறிஸ்துவின் சரீரத்தினாலே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கு மரித்தவர்களானீர்கள். BSB BSB: Therefore, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.
5 ULB நாம் சரீரத்திற்கு உட்பட்டிருந்த காலத்தில் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே தோன்றிய பாவ இச்சைகள் மரணத்திற்குரிய பலன்களைக் கொடுக்கக்கூடியதாக நம்முடைய சரீர உறுப்புகளிலே பெலன்செய்தது. BSB BSB: For when we lived according to the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for death.
6 ULB இப்பொழுதோ நாம் பழமையான எழுத்தின்படி இல்லை, புதுமையான ஆவியின்படி ஊழியம் செய்வதற்காக, நம்மைக் கட்டியிருந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கு நாம் மரித்தவர்களாகி, அதில் இருந்து விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம். BSB BSB: But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
7 ULB எனவே, என்னசொல்லுவோம்? நியாயப்பிரமாணம் பாவமோ? இல்லையே, பாவம் என்னவென்று நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால்தான் நான் தெரிந்துகொண்டேனேதவிர மற்றப்படி இல்லை; இச்சிக்காமல் இருப்பாயாக என்று நியாயப்பிரமாணம் சொல்லாதிருந்தால், இச்சை பாவம் என்று நான் தெரியாமல் இருப்பேனே. BSB BSB: What then shall we say? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed, I would not have been mindful of sin if not for the law. For I would not have been aware of coveting if the law had not said, “Do not covet.”
8 ULB பாவமானது கட்டளையினாலே வாய்ப்பைப்பெற்று எல்லாவிதமான இச்சைகளையும் எனக்குள் நடப்பித்தது. நியாயப்பிரமாணம் இல்லாவிட்டால் பாவம் செத்ததாக இருக்குமே. BSB BSB: But sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
9 ULB முன்பே நியாயப்பிரமாணம் இல்லாதவனாக இருந்தபோது நான் ஜீவனுள்ளவனாக இருந்தேன்; கட்டளை வந்தபோது பாவம் உயிர்கொண்டது, நான் மரித்தவனானேன். BSB BSB: Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
10 ULB இப்படியிருக்க, ஜீவனுக்குரிய கட்டளை எனக்கு மரணத்திற்குரியதாக இருப்பதைப் பார்த்தேன். BSB BSB: So I discovered that the very commandment that was meant to bring life actually brought death.
11 ULB பாவமானது கட்டளையினாலே வாய்ப்பைப்பெற்று, என்னை ஏமாற்றியது, அதினாலே என்னைக் கொன்றது. BSB BSB: For sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through the commandment put me to death.
13 ULB இப்படியிருக்க, நன்மையானது எனக்கு மரணமானதோ? அப்படி இல்லை; பாவமே எனக்கு மரணமானது; பாவம் கட்டளையினாலே அதிக பாவமுள்ளதாவதற்கும், அது நன்மையானதைக்கொண்டு எனக்கு மரணத்தை உண்டாக்கினதினாலே, பாவமாகவே இருக்கும்படிக்கும் அப்படியானது. BSB BSB: Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Certainly not! But in order that sin might be exposed as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful.
14 ULB மேலும், நமக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்கிறபடி, நியாயப்பிரமாணம் ஆவிக்குரியதாக இருக்கிறது, நானோ பாவத்திற்குக் கீழாக விற்கப்பட்டு, சரீரத்திற்குரியவனாக இருக்கிறேன். BSB BSB: We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin.
15 ULB எப்படியென்றால், நான் செய்கிறது எனக்கே புரியவில்லை; நான் விரும்புகிறதைச் செய்யாமல், நான் வெறுக்கிறதையே செய்கிறேன். BSB BSB: I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do. But what I hate, I do.
16 ULB இப்படி நான் விரும்பாததைச் செய்கிறவனாக இருக்க, நியாயப்பிரமாணம் நல்லது என்று ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறேனே. BSB BSB: And if I do what I do not want to do, I admit that the law is good.
17 ULB எனவே, நான் இல்லை, எனக்குள் வாழ்கிற பாவமே அப்படிச் செய்கிறது. BSB BSB: In that case, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
18 ULB அது எப்படியென்றால், என்னிடம், அதாவது, என் சரீரத்தில், நன்மை வாழ்கிறதில்லையென்று நான் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; நன்மை செய்யவேண்டும் என்கிற விருப்பம் என்னிடம் இருக்கிறது, நன்மை செய்வதோ என்னிடம் இல்லை. BSB BSB: I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
19 ULB எனவே, நான் விரும்புகிற நன்மையைச் செய்யாமல், விரும்பாத தீமையையே செய்கிறேன். BSB BSB: For I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I keep on doing the evil I do not want to do.
20 ULB அதன்படி, நான் விரும்பாததை நான் செய்தால், நான் இல்லை, எனக்குள் வாழ்கிற பாவமே அப்படிச் செய்கிறது. BSB BSB: And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21 ULB ஆனபடியால் நன்மைசெய்ய விரும்புகிற என்னிடம் தீமை உண்டு என்கிற ஒரு பிரமாணத்தைப் பார்க்கிறேன். BSB BSB: So this is the principle I have discovered: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
22 ULB உள்ளான மனிதனுக்குத் தகுந்தபடி தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்மேல் பிரியமாக இருக்கிறேன். BSB BSB: For in my inner being I delight in God’s law.
23 ULB ஆனாலும் என் மனதின் பிரமாணத்திற்கு எதிராகப் போராடுகிற வேறொரு பிரமாணத்தை என் உறுப்புகளில் இருக்கிறதைப் பார்க்கிறேன்; அது என் உறுப்புகளில் உண்டாயிருக்கிற பாவப்பிரமாணத்திற்கு என்னைச் சிறையாக்கிக் கொள்ளுகிறது. BSB BSB: But I see another law at work in my body, warring against the law of my mind and holding me captive to the law of sin that dwells within me.
24 ULB நிர்பந்தமான மனிதன் நான்! இந்த மரணசரீரத்திலிருந்து யார் என்னை விடுதலையாக்குவார்? BSB BSB: What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
25 ULB நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் மூலமாக தேவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன். எனவே, நானே என் மனதினாலே தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கும், சரீரத்தினாலே பாவப்பிரமாணத்திற்கும் சேவை செய்கிறேன். BSB BSB: Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.
