Luke 18 (TELOTSA)

1ఒక రోజు యేసు విసుగక ప్రార్థన చేస్తూ ఉండాలి అనే విషయాన్ని ఉపమానరీతిగా చెప్పారు:Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:

2“ఒక పట్టణంలో ఒక న్యాయాధిపతి ఉన్నాడు. అతనికి దేవుని భయం లేదు, మనుష్యులను లెక్క చేసేవాడు కాడు.“In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected men.

3ఆ పట్టణంలో ఒక విధవరాలు అతని దగ్గరకు తరచుగా వస్తూ, ‘నా విరోధి విషయంలో నాకు న్యాయం తీర్చండి’ అని అడుగుతూ ఉండేది.And there was a widow in that town who kept appealing to him, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’

8నేను చెప్పేది ఏంటంటే, ఆయన వారికి న్యాయం జరిగేలా చేస్తారు, అది కూడా అతిత్వరలో చేస్తారు. అయినా మనుష్యకుమారుడు వచ్చినప్పుడు, ఆయనకు భూమి మీద వారిలో విశ్వాసం కనిపిస్తుందా?” అని అడిగారు.I tell you, He will promptly carry out justice on their behalf. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”

9తమ స్వనీతిని ఆధారం చేసుకుని ఇతరులను చిన్న చూపు చూసేవారితో యేసు ఈ ఉపమానం చెప్పారు:To some who trusted in their own righteousness and viewed others with contempt, He also told this parable:

10“ఇద్దరు ప్రార్థన చేయడానికి దేవాలయానికి వెళ్లారు. వారిలో ఒకడు పరిసయ్యుడు మరొకడు పన్నులు వసూలు చేసేవాడు.“Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11పరిసయ్యుడు నిలబడి తన గురించి ఇలా ప్రార్థించాడు: ‘దేవా, నేను దొంగలు, అన్యాయస్థులు వ్యభిచారుల వంటి ఇతరుల్లా కాని, ఈ పన్నులు వసూలు చేసేవాని వలె కాని లేనందుకు నీకు కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లిస్తున్నాను.The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—swindlers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

12నేను వారానికి రెండు సార్లు ఉపవాసం ఉంటాను, నా సంపాదనలో పదవ భాగం ఇస్తాను.’I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I acquire.’

13“అయితే పన్నులు వసూలు చేసేవాడు దూరంగా నిలబడి, తలను పైకెత్తి చూడడానికి కూడా ధైర్యం చాలక, రొమ్ము కొట్టుకొంటూ, ‘దేవా, నేను పాపిని, నన్ను కరుణించు’ అని వేడుకొన్నాడు.But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’

14“నేను మీతో చెప్పేది ఏంటంటే, పరిసయ్యుని కంటే పన్నులు వసూలు చేసేవాడే దేవుని ఎదుట నీతిమంతునిగా తీర్చబడి తన ఇంటికి వెళ్లాడు. ఎందుకంటే తమను తాము హెచ్చించుకొనేవారు తగ్గించబడతారు. తమను తాము తగ్గించుకునేవారు హెచ్చింపబడతారు.”I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

15కొందరు తల్లితండ్రులు తమ పసిపిల్లలపై యేసు తన చేతులుంచి వారిని ఆశీర్వదించాలని ఆయన దగ్గరకు తీసుకుని వస్తున్నారు. అయితే ఆయన శిష్యులు అది చూసి వారిని గద్దించారు.Now people were even bringing their babies to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. And when the disciples saw this, they rebuked those who brought them.

16కానీ యేసు పిల్లలను తన దగ్గరకు పిలిచి తన శిష్యులతో, “చిన్న పిల్లలను నా దగ్గరకు రానివ్వండి, వారిని ఆటంకపరచకండి, ఎందుకంటే దేవుని రాజ్యం ఇలాంటి వారిదే” అని చెప్పారు.But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

17“ఎవరైనా చిన్నపిల్లల్లా దేవుని రాజ్యాన్ని స్వీకరించకపోతే, ఎన్నటికి దానిలో ప్రవేశించరని నేను మీతో ఖచ్చితంగా చెప్తున్నాను” అని అన్నారు.Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

18ఒక అధికారి యేసుతో, “మంచి బోధకుడా, నిత్యజీవం పొందుకోవాలంటే నేనేమి చేయాలి?” అని అడిగాడు.Then a certain ruler asked Him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

19అందుకు యేసు, “నీవు నన్ను ఎందుకు మంచివాడనని పిలుస్తున్నావు? దేవుడు తప్ప మంచివారు ఎవ్వరూ లేరు.“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone.

20మీకు ఆజ్ఞలు తెలుసు: ‘వ్యభిచారం చేయకూడదు, హత్య చేయకూడదు, దొంగతనం చేయకూడదు, అబద్ధసాక్ష్యం చెప్పకూడదు, మీ తండ్రిని తల్లిని గౌరవించాలి’ ” అని అన్నారు.You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and mother.’”

21అందుకు ఆ అధికారి, “చిన్నప్పటి నుండి నేను వీటిని పాటిస్తూనే ఉన్నాను” అన్నాడు.“All these I have kept from my youth,” he said.

22యేసు అతడు చెప్పింది విని వానితో, “అయినా నీలో ఒక కొరత ఉంది. నీకున్న ఆస్తి అంతా అమ్మి పేదవారికి పంచిపెట్టు, అప్పుడు పరలోకంలో నీవు ధనం కలిగి ఉంటావు. తర్వాత వచ్చి, నన్ను వెంబడించు” అని చెప్పారు.On hearing this, Jesus told him, “You still lack one thing: Sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

24యేసు అతన్ని చూసి అతనితో, “ఒక ధనవంతుడు దేవుని రాజ్యంలో ప్రవేశించడం కంటే ఒంటె సూది రంధ్రం గుండా దూరడం సులభం” అని చెప్పారు.Seeing the man’s sadness, Jesus said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

26ఇది విన్న వారు, “అయితే మరి ఎవరు రక్షణ పొందగలరు?” అని అడిగారు.Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

27అందుకు యేసు, “మనుష్యులకు అసాధ్యమైనవి దేవునికి సాధ్యం” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు.But Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

28పేతురు ఆయనతో, “మేము మాకు కలిగిన వాటన్నిటిని విడిచి నిన్ను వెంబడించాము” అన్నాడు.“Look,” said Peter, “we have left all we had to follow You.”

29అందుకు యేసు వారితో, “నేను మీతో నిజంగా చెప్తున్నాను, దేవుని రాజ్యం కోసం తన ఇంటిని, భార్యను, సహోదరులను, సహోదరీలను, తల్లిదండ్రులను, పిల్లలను విడిచిపెట్టిన వారు ఈ యుగంలో చాలారెట్లు పొందుకోవడమే కాక, రానున్న యుగంలో నిత్యజీవాన్ని కూడా తప్పక పొందుకొంటాడు” అని వారితో అన్నారు.“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

31యేసు తన పన్నెండుమంది శిష్యులను ప్రక్కకు తీసుకెళ్లి, “రండి, మనం యెరూషలేముకు వెళ్తున్నాం, మనుష్యకుమారుని గురించి ప్రవక్తలు వ్రాసిన మాటలన్నీ నెరవేరుతాయి.Then Jesus took the Twelve aside and said to them, “Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything the prophets have written about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.

34ఆయన చెప్పిన ఈ మాటల్లో శిష్యులు ఏది గ్రహించలేదు. దాని అర్థం వారికి మరుగు చేయబడింది కాబట్టి ఆయన దేని గురించి మాట్లాడుతున్నాడో వారికి తెలియలేదు.But the disciples did not understand any of these things. The meaning was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what He was saying.

35యేసు యెరికో పట్టణ సమీపంలో ఉన్నపుడు, ఒక గ్రుడ్డివాడు దారి ప్రక్కన కూర్చుని భిక్షం అడుక్కుంటూ ఉన్నాడు.As Jesus drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting beside the road, begging.

36జనసమూహం వెళ్తుందని వాడు విని, “ఆ సందడేంటి?” అని అడిగాడు.When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening.

37“నజరేతువాడైన యేసు ఈ దారిలో వెళ్తున్నాడు” అని వారు జవాబిచ్చారు.“Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,” they told him.

38అందుకతడు బిగ్గరగా, “యేసు, దావీదు కుమారుడా, నన్ను కరుణించు!” అని కేకలు వేశాడు.So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

39ఆ దారిలో వెళ్లేవారు వాన్ని గద్దించారు, నిశ్శబ్దంగా ఉండమని వానికి చెప్పారు. కాని వాడు, “దావీదు కుమారుడా, నన్ను కరుణించు!” అని ఇంకా బిగ్గరగా కేకలు వేశాడు.Those who led the way admonished him to be silent, but he cried out all the louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

40తర్వాత యేసు నిలబడి, వానిని తన దగ్గరకు తీసుకుని రమ్మన్నాడు. వాడు ఆయన దగ్గరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు యేసు వానితో,Jesus stopped and directed that the man be brought to Him. When he had come near, Jesus asked him,

41“నేను నీకు ఏమి చేయాలని కోరుతున్నావు?” అని అడిగారు. “ప్రభువా, నాకు చూపు కావాలి!” అని వాడు అన్నాడు.“What do you want Me to do for you?” “Lord,” he said, “let me see again.”

42యేసు వానితో, “నీవు చూపును పొందుకో; నీ విశ్వాసం నిన్ను స్వస్థపరచింది!” అన్నారు.“Receive your sight!” Jesus replied. “Your faith has healed you.”

43వెంటనే వాడు చూపు పొందుకొని, దేవుని స్తుతిస్తూ యేసును వెంబడించాడు. ప్రజలందరు ఇది చూసి, వారు కూడా దేవునిని స్తుతించారు.Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
