Luke 23 (TELOTSA)

1ఆ సభ వారందరు లేచి యేసును పిలాతు దగ్గరకు తీసుకెళ్లారు.Then the whole council rose and led Jesus away to Pilate.

2వారు ఆయన మీద, “ఇతడు మన దేశాన్ని తప్పుత్రోవ పట్టిస్తున్నాడని మేము తెలుసుకున్నాము. ఇతడు కైసరుకు పన్ను కట్టడాన్ని వ్యతిరేకిస్తున్నాడు నేనే రాజైన క్రీస్తును అని చెప్పుకుంటున్నాడు” అని నేరారోపణ చేయడం మొదలుపెట్టారు.And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming Himself to be Christ, a King.”

3అందుకు పిలాతు యేసును, “నీవు యూదుల రాజువా?” అని ఆయనను అడిగాడు. దానికి యేసు, “అని నీవే అన్నావు” అని జవాబిచ్చారు.So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.

4అందుకు అధిపతి పిలాతు, ముఖ్య యాజకులతో జనసమూహంతో, “ఇతనిలో నాకే దోషం కనిపించలేదు” అన్నాడు.Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”

5అయినా వారు పట్టుబట్టి, “ఇతడు తన బోధలతో గలిలయ నుండి యూదయ ప్రాంతమంతట ప్రజలను రెచ్చగొడుతూ, ఇక్కడి వరకు వచ్చాడు” అన్నారు.But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea with His teaching. He began in Galilee and has come all the way here.”

6ఇది విన్న పిలాతు, “ఈయన గలిలయుడా?” అని అడిగాడు.When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

7యేసు హేరోదు అధికారం క్రింద ఉన్న ప్రాంతానికి చెందినవాడని పిలాతుకు తెలిసినప్పుడు, ఆ రోజు యెరూషలేములోనే ఉన్న హేరోదు దగ్గరకు ఆయనను పంపించాడు.And learning that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was in Jerusalem at that time.

8హేరోదు చాలా కాలం నుండి యేసును చూడాలని ఆశపడ్డాడు, కాబట్టి ఆయనను చూడగానే అతడు చాలా సంతోషించాడు. యేసు గురించి తాను అనేక సంగతులను విన్నాడు కాబట్టి ఆయన ఏదైనా సూచకక్రియ చేస్తే చూడాలని ఆశించాడు.When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.

9హేరోదు ఆయనను ఎన్నో ప్రశ్నలు వేశాడు కాని యేసు వాటికి జవాబివ్వలేదు.Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.

10ముఖ్య యాజకులు ధర్మశాస్త్ర ఉపదేశకులు నిలబడి, ఆయన మీద తీవ్ర నేరారోపణ చేశారు.Meanwhile, the chief priests and scribes stood there, vehemently accusing Him.

11హేరోదు అతని సైనికులు ఆయనను ఎగతాళి చేస్తూ అవమానపరిచారు, ఆయనకు ప్రశస్తమైన వస్త్రాన్ని తొడిగించి, వారు ఆయనను మరల పిలాతు దగ్గరకు పంపించారు.And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.

12అంతకుముందు శత్రువులుగా ఉండిన హేరోదు పిలాతు ఆ రోజున స్నేహితులు అయ్యారు.That day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this time they had been enemies.

13తర్వాత పిలాతు ముఖ్య యాజకులను, అధికారులను ప్రజలను పిలిపించి,Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,

14“ప్రజలను తిరుగుబాటు చేయిస్తున్నాడు అని మీరు ఈ మనుష్యుని నా దగ్గరకు తీసుకువచ్చారు. నేను మీ ముందే ఇతన్ని విచారించాను కానీ మీరు అతని మీద మోపిన నేరాల్లో ఒక్కటి కూడా ఇతనిలో నాకు కనబడలేదు.and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.

15హేరోదుకు కూడా అతనిలో ఏ నేరం కనబడలేదని మరలా నా దగ్గరకు పంపించాడు; ఇదిగో, ఈయన మరణానికి తగిన నేరమేమి చేయలేదు.Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death.

16కాబట్టి నేను ఇతనికి శిక్షించి విడుదల చేస్తాను” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”

17పండుగ రోజు ప్రజల కోరిక మేరకు ఒక నేరస్థుని విడుదల చేయడం ఆనవాయితి.Not in the BSB

18అయితే వారందరు, “ఇతన్ని చంపి! మాకు బరబ్బాను విడుదల చెయ్యండి!” అని కలిసికట్టుగా కేకలు వేశారు.But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”

19ఈ బరబ్బ పట్టణంలో జరిగిన ఒక తిరుగుబాటు చేసినందుకు హత్య చేసినందుకు చెరసాలలో పెట్టబడ్డాడు.(Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)

20పిలాతు యేసును విడుదల చేయాలని, వారికి తిరిగి విజ్ఞప్తి చేశాడు.Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,

21కానీ వారు, “వీనిని సిలువ వేయండి! సిలువ వేయండి!” అని కేకలు వేశారు.but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”

22మూడవసారి అతడు వారితో, “ఎందుకు? ఈ మనిషి చేసిన నేరమేంటి? ఇతనికి మరణశిక్షను విధించదగిన నేరమేమి నాకు కనబడలేదు. కాబట్టి ఇతన్ని శిక్షించి వదిలేస్తాను” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”

23కాని వారు ఇంకా గట్టిగా కేకలువేస్తూ ఆయన సిలువవేయబడాలని పట్టుబట్టారు, చివరికి వారి కేకలే గెలిచాయి.But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed.

24కాబట్టి పిలాతు వారు కోరినట్లే చేయడానికి నిర్ణయించాడుSo Pilate sentenced that their demand be met.

25వారు కోరుకున్న విధంగా తిరుగుబాటు హత్యానేరాలతో చెరసాలలో ఉన్న బరబ్బాను వారికి విడుదల చేసి, యేసును వారి ఇష్టానికి అప్పగించాడు.As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and he handed Jesus over to their will.

26వారు ఆయనను సిలువ వేయడానికి తీసుకుని వెళ్తుండగా, ప్రక్క గ్రామం నుండి వస్తున్న కురేనీయుడైన సీమోను అనే ఒకన్ని పట్టుకుని, యేసు వెనుక సిలువను మోయడానికి ఆ సిలువను అతని మీద పెట్టారు.As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and they put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.

27దుఃఖిస్తూ విలపిస్తున్న స్త్రీలతో పాటు పెద్ద జనసమూహం ఆయనను వెంబడించారు.A great number of people followed Him, including women who kept mourning and wailing for Him.

28యేసు వారివైపు తిరిగి వారితో, “యెరూషలేము కుమార్తెలారా, నా కోసం ఏడవకండి; మీ కోసం మీ పిల్లల కోసం ఏడవండి.But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

29ఎందుకంటే ఒక సమయం రాబోతుంది అప్పుడు మీరు, ‘గొడ్రాళ్లు, కనని గర్భాలు, పాలియ్యని స్తనాలు ధన్యం అని అంటారు.’Look, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never nursed!’

30అప్పుడు వారు, “పర్వతాలతో ‘మామీద పడండి!’ అని కొండలతో, ‘మమ్మల్ని కప్పండి!’ అని అంటారు.At that time ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’

31పచ్చగా ఉన్న చెట్టుకే వారు ఇలా చేస్తే, ఎండిన దానికి ఇంకా ఏమి చేస్తారు?” అని చెప్పారు.For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”

32ఆయనతో పాటు మరి ఇద్దరు నేరస్థులను కూడ చంపడానికి తీసుకువచ్చారు.Two others, who were criminals, were also led away to be executed with Jesus.

33కపాలం అనే స్థలానికి వారు వచ్చినప్పుడు, ఆయనను నేరస్థులతో పాటు కుడి వైపున ఒకడు, ఎడమవైపున ఒకన్ని పెట్టి సిలువ వేశారు.When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left.

34యేసు, “తండ్రీ, వీరేమి చేస్తున్నారో వీరికి తెలియదు కాబట్టి వీరిని క్షమించండి” అని చెప్పారు. వారు చీట్లు వేసి ఆయన వస్త్రాలను పంచుకున్నారు.Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.

35ప్రజలు నిలబడి ఇదంతా చూస్తున్నారు, అధికారులు కూడ, “వీడు ఇతరులను రక్షించాడు; వీడు నిజంగా దేవుడు ఏర్పరచుకున్న క్రీస్తు అయితే తనను తాను రక్షించుకోవాలి” అని అంటూ ఎగతాళి చేశారు.The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”

36అప్పుడు సైనికులు కూడా ఆయన దగ్గరకు వచ్చి ఆయనకు చిరకాను పులిసిన ద్రాక్షరసం అందించి,The soldiers also mocked Him and came up to offer Him sour wine.

37“నీవు యూదుల రాజువైతే, నిన్ను నీవే రక్షించుకో” అని ఆయనను వెక్కిరించారు.“If You are the King of the Jews,” they said, “save Yourself!”

38ఆయనపై ఉన్న నేరం యొక్క వ్రాతపూర్వక ఉత్తర్వు ఇలా ఉంది: ఇతడు యూదుల రాజు.Above Him was posted an inscription: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39వ్రేలాడుతున్న ఆ నేరస్థులలో ఒకడు ఆయనను అవమానిస్తూ, “నీవు క్రీస్తువు కాదా? నిన్ను నీవు రక్షించుకొని మమ్మల్ని కూడ రక్షించు!” అని హేళన చేశాడు.One of the criminals who hung there heaped abuse on Him. “Are You not the Christ?” he said. “Save Yourself and us!”

40కానీ మరొక నేరస్థుడు వానిని గద్దించి, “నీవు కూడా అదే శిక్షను పొందుతున్నావు, నీవు దేవునికి భయపడవా?” అన్నాడు.But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment?

41“మనం చేసిన తప్పులకు న్యాయంగానే శిక్షను అనుభవిస్తున్నాం కాని ఈయన ఏ తప్పు చేయలేదు” అన్నాడు.We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

42ఆ తర్వాత ఆ నేరస్థుడు యేసును చూసి, “నీవు నీ రాజ్యంలోనికి వస్తున్నప్పుడు నన్ను జ్ఞాపకం చేసుకో” అన్నాడు.Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”

43యేసు వానితో, “నేడు నీవు నాతోకూడ పరదైసులో ఉంటావని, నీతో నిశ్చయంగా చెప్తున్నాను” అన్నారు.And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

44అప్పుడు మధ్యాహ్నం మొదలుకొని మూడు గంటల వరకు ఆ దేశమంతా చీకటి కమ్మింది.It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour.

45సూర్యుడు కాంతినివ్వలేదు. దేవాలయపు తెర రెండుగా చినిగిపోయింది.The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.

46అప్పుడు యేసు, “తండ్రీ, మీ చేతికి నా ఆత్మను అప్పగిస్తున్నాను” అని గొప్ప శబ్దంతో కేక వేశారు. ఆయన ఈ మాట చెప్పి, తన ప్రాణం విడిచారు.Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.

47శతాధిపతి, జరిగింది చూసి, “నిజంగా ఈయన నీతిమంతుడు” అని చెప్పి దేవుని స్తుతించాడు.When the centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous man.”

48ఈ దృశ్యాన్ని చూస్తూ అక్కడ ఉన్న ప్రజలందరు జరిగిందంతా చూసి, రొమ్ము కొట్టుకొంటూ తిరిగి వెళ్లిపోయారు.And when all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.

49ఆయనతో పరిచయం ఉన్నవారందరు, గలిలయ నుండి ఆయనను వెంబడించిన స్త్రీలతో సహా అందరు దూరంగా నిలబడి చూస్తున్నారు.But all those who knew Jesus, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching these things.

50అరిమతయికు చెందిన యోసేపు యూదుల న్యాయసభలో సభ్యుడు, మంచివాడు నీతిపరుడు.Now there was a Council member named Joseph, a good and righteous man,

51అతడు ఇతర న్యాయసభ సభ్యుల తీర్మానానికి గాని వారి చర్యకు గాని అంగీకరించకుండా దేవుని రాజ్యం కోసం కనిపెడుతూ ఉండినవాడు.who had not consented to their decision or action. He was from the Judean town of Arimathea and was waiting for the kingdom of God.

55అప్పుడు గలిలయ నుండి యేసును వెంబడిస్తూ వచ్చిన స్త్రీలు అతని వెంట వెళ్లి ఆ సమాధిని, ఆయన దేహాన్ని ఎలా పెట్టారో చూశారు.The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed.

56తర్వాత వారు ఇంటికి వెళ్లి, సుగంధ ద్రవ్యాలను, పరిమళ తైలాలను సిద్ధం చేసుకున్నారు. కాని వారు ఆజ్ఞకు లోబడుతూ సబ్బాతు దినాన విశ్రాంతి తీసుకున్నారు.Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
