1. 1ULBऐ 'अज़ीज़ो! हर एक रूह का यक़ीन न करो,बल्कि रूहों को आज़माओ कि वो ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से हैं या नहीं;क्यूँकि बहुत से झूटे नबी दुनियाँ में निकल खड़े हुए हैं|BSBBSB: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2. 2ULBख़ुदा के रूह को तुम इस तरह पहचान सकते हो कि जो कोई रूह इक़रार करे कि ईसा' मसीह" मुजस्सिम होकर आया है,वो ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से है;BSBBSB: By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3. 3ULBऔर जो कोई रूह ईसा' का इक़रार न करे,वो ख़ुदा की तरफ़ से नहीं और यही मुख़ालिफ़-ऐ-मसीह की रूह है;जिसकी ख़बर तुम सुन चुके हो कि वो आनेवाली है,बल्कि अब भी दुनिया में मौजूद है|BSBBSB: and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and which is already in the world at this time.
4. 4ULBऐ बच्चों! तुम ख़ुदा से हो और उन पर ग़ालिब आ गए हो, क्यूँकि जो तुम में है वो उससे बड़ा है जो दुनिया में है|BSBBSB: You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
5. 5ULBवो दुनिया से हैं इस वास्ते दुनियाँ की सी कहते हैं,और दुनियाँ उनकी सुनती है|BSBBSB: They are of the world. That is why they speak from the world’s perspective, and the world listens to them.
6. 6ULBहम ख़ुदा से है |जो ख़ुदा को जानता है,वो हमारी सुनता है; जो ख़ुदा से नहीं,वो हमारी नहीं सुनता |इसी से हम हक़ की रूह और गुमराही की रूह को पहचान लेते हैं|BSBBSB: We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.
7. 7ULBऐ अज़ीज़ों! हम इस वक़्त ख़ुदा के फ़र्ज़न्द है,और अभी तक ये ज़ाहिर नहीं हुआ कि हम क्या कुछ होंगे!इतना जानते हैं कि जब वो ज़ाहिर होगा तो हम भी उसकी तरह होंगे,क्यूँकि उसको वैसा ही देखेंगे जैसा वो है|BSBBSB: Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8. 8ULBजो मुहब्बत नहीं रखता वो ख़ुदा को नहीं जानता,क्यूँकि ख़ुदा मुहब्बत है|BSBBSB: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9. 9ULBजो मुहब्बत ख़ुदा को हम से है, वो इससे ज़ाहिर हुई कि ख़ुदा ने अपने इकलौते बेटे को दुनिया में भेजा है ताकि हम उसके वसीले से ज़िन्दा रहें|BSBBSB: This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.
10. 10ULBमुहब्बत इसमें नहीं कि हम ने ख़ुदा से मुहब्बत की, बल्कि इसमें है कि उसने हम से मुहब्बत की और हमारे गुनाहों के कफ़्फ़ारे के लिए अपने बेटे को भेजा|BSBBSB: And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11. 11ULBऐ 'अज़ीज़ो!जब ख़ुदा ने हम से ऐसी मुहब्बत की, तो हम पर भी एक दूसरे से मुहब्बत रखना फ़र्ज़ है|BSBBSB: Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12. 12ULBख़ुदा को कभी किसी ने नहीं देखा; अगर हम एक दूसरे से मुहब्बत रखते हैं,तो ख़ुदा हम में रहता है और उसकी मुहब्बत हमारे दिल में कामिल हो गई है|BSBBSB: No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God remains in us, and His love is perfected in us.
13. 13ULBचूँकि उसने अपने रूह में से हमें दिया है,इससे हम जानते हैं कि हम उसमें क़ायम रहते हैं और वो हम में|BSBBSB: By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit.
14. 14ULBऔर हम ने देख लिया है और गवाही देते हैं कि बाप ने बेटे को दुनिया का मुन्जी करके भेजा है|BSBBSB: And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.
15. 15ULBजो कोई इकरार करता है कि ईसा' ख़ुदा का बेटा है, ख़ुदा उसमें रहता है और वो ख़ुदा में|BSBBSB: If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16. 16ULBजो मुहब्बत ख़ुदा को हम से है उसको हम जान गए और हमें उसका यक़ीन है |ख़ुदा मुहब्बत है,और जो मुहब्बत में क़ायम रहता है वो ख़ुदा में क़ायम रहता है,और ख़ुदा उसमे क़ायम रहता है|BSBBSB: And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
17. 17ULBइसी वजह से मुहब्बत हम में कामिल हो गई,ताकि हमें 'अदालत के दिन दिलेरी हो; क्यूँकि जैसा वो है वैसे ही दुनिया में हम भी है|BSBBSB: In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.
18. 18ULBमुहब्बत में ख़ौफ़ नहीं होता,बल्कि कामिल मुहब्बत ख़ौफ़ को दूर कर देती है; क्यूँकि ख़ौफ़ से 'अज़ाब होता है और कोई ख़ौफ़ करनेवाला मुहब्बत में कामिल नहीं हुआ|BSBBSB: There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.
19. 19ULBहम इस लिए मुहब्बत रखते हैं कि पहले उसने हम से मुहब्बत रख्खी|BSBBSB: We love because He first loved us.
20. 20ULBअगर कोई कहे,"मैं ख़ुदा से मुहब्बत रखता हूँ" और वो अपने भाई से 'दुश्मनी रख्खे तो झुटा है:क्यूँकि जो अपने भाई से जिसे उसने देखा है मुहब्बत नहीं रखता,वो ख़ुदा से भी जिसे उसने नहीं देखा मुहब्बत नहीं रख सकता|BSBBSB: If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
21. 21ULBऔर हम को उसकी तरफ़ से ये हुक्म मिला है कि जो ख़ुदा से मुहब्बत रखता है वो अपने भाई से भी मुहब्बत रख्खे|BSBBSB: And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.
