1. 1URDOUCVقَیصؔر تِبریُس کی حُکومت کے پندرھویں بَرس جَب پُنطِیُس پِیلاطُسؔ یہُودیؔہ کا حاکم تھا اَور ہیرودیسؔ گلِیل کے چوتھائی حِصّہ پر اَور اُس کا بھایٔی فِلِپُّسؔ، اِتُوریہ اَور تَرخونؔی تِس چوتھائی حِصّہ اَور لِسانیاسؔ، اَبلینےؔ کے چوتھائی حِصّہ پر حُکمراں تھاBSBBSB: In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, while Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
2. 2URDOUCVاَور حنّاؔ اَور کائِفؔا اعلیٰ کاہِن تھے۔ اُس وقت خُدا کا کلام بیابان میں زکریاؔہ کے بیٹے حضرت یُوحنّا پر نازل ہُوا۔BSBBSB: during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.
3. 3URDOUCVاَور وہ یردنؔ کے اِردگرد کے علاقوں میں جا کر گُناہوں کی مُعافی کے واسطے تَوبہ کرنے اَور پاک غُسل لینے کی مُنادی کرنے لگے۔BSBBSB: He went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins,
4. 4URDOUCVجَیسا کہ حضرت یَشعیاہ نبی نے اَپنے صحیفہ میں لِکھّا ہے: ”بیابان میں کویٔی پُکار رہاہے، ’خُداوؔند کے لیٔے راہ تیّار کرو، اُس کے لیٔے راہیں سیدھی بناؤ۔BSBBSB: as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.
5. 5URDOUCVہر وادی بھر دی جائے گی، اَور ہر پہاڑ اَور ٹیلا نیچا کر دیا جائے گا۔ ٹیڑھے راستے سیدھے کر دئیے جایٔیں گے، اَور ناہموار راہیں ہموار بنا دی جایٔیں گی۔BSBBSB: Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.
6. 6URDOUCVاَور تمام بنی نَوع اِنسان خُدا کی نَجات دیکھیں گے۔‘ “BSBBSB: And all humanity will see God’s salvation.’”
7. 7URDOUCVحضرت یُوحنّا اُس ہُجوم سے جو گِروہ در گِروہ اُن کے پاس پاک غُسل لینے کے لیٔے آ رہاتھا اُن سے کہا، ”اَے زہریلے سانپ کے بچّو! تُمہیں کس نے آگاہ کر دیا کہ آنے والے غضب سے بچ کر بھاگ نکلو؟BSBBSB: Then John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
8. 8URDOUCVاَپنی تَوبہ کے لائق پھل بھی لاؤ۔ اَور خُود سے اِس گُمان میں نہ رہنا کہ تُم کہنے لگو، ’ہم تو حضرت اَبراہامؔ کی اَولاد ہیں۔‘ کیونکہ مَیں تُم سے کہتا ہُوں کہ خُدا اِن پتھّروں سے بھی حضرت اَبراہامؔ کے لیٔے اَولاد پیدا کر سَکتا ہے۔BSBBSB: Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
9. 9URDOUCVاَب درختوں کی جڑ پر کُلہاڑا رکھ دیا گیا ہے لہٰذا جو درخت اَچھّا پھل نہیں لاتا وہ کاٹا اَور آگ میں جھونکا جاتا ہے۔“BSBBSB: The axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
10. 10URDOUCV”لوگوں نے اُس سے پُوچھا کہ آخِر ہم کیا کریں؟“BSBBSB: The crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”
11. 11URDOUCVحضرت یُوحنّا نے جَواب دیا، جِس کے پاس دو کُرتے ہوں، ”اُس کے ساتھ جِس کے پاس ایک بھی نہ ہوں بانٹ لے اَور جِس کے پاس کھانا ہو وہ بھی اَیسا ہی کرے۔“BSBBSB: John replied, “Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”
12. 12URDOUCVاَور محصُول لینے والے بھی پاک غُسل لینے آئے اَور پُوچھنے لگے، ”اَے اُستاد محترم،“ ہم کیا کریں؟BSBBSB: Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”
13. 13URDOUCVاَور آپ نے اُن سے کہا، ”جِتنا لینے کا تُمہیں اِختیار دیا گیا ہے اُس سے زِیادہ نہ لو۔“BSBBSB: “Collect no more than you are authorized,” he answered.
14. 14URDOUCVتَب بعض سپاہیوں نے بھی پُوچھا، ”ہم کیا کریں؟“ اَور حضرت یُوحنّا نے اُن سے کہا، ”کسی پر جھُوٹا اِلزام مت لگاؤ اَور نہ ڈرا دھمکا کر کسی سے کُچھ لو۔ اَپنی تنخواہ سے مطمئن رہو۔“BSBBSB: Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” “Do not take money by force or false accusation,” he said. “Be content with your wages.”
15. 15URDOUCVجَب لوگ بڑے شوق سے مُنتظر تھے اَور دِل ہی دِل میں سوچ رہے تھے کہ شاید حضرت یُوحنّا ہی المسیح ہیں۔BSBBSB: The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John could be the Christ.
16. 16URDOUCVتو حضرت یُوحنّا نے جَواب دیتے ہُوئے کہا، ”میں تو تُمہیں صِرف پانی سے پاک غُسل دیتا ہُوں۔ لیکن جو آنے والا ہے وہ مُجھ سے بھی زِیادہ زورآور ہے، میں تو اِس لائق بھی نہیں کہ اُن کی جُوتوں کے تسمے کھول سکوں۔ وہ تُمہیں پاک رُوح اَور آگ سے پاک غُسل دیں گے۔BSBBSB: John answered all of them: “I baptize you with water, but One more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
17. 17URDOUCVاُس کا چھاج اُس کے ہاتھ میں ہے اَور وہ اَپنے کھلیان کو خُوب صَاف کرےگا اَور گیہُوں کو اَپنے کھتّے میں جمع کرےگا اَور بھُوسے کو اُس آگ میں جَلائے گا جو بُجھتی ہی نہیں۔“BSBBSB: His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
18. 18URDOUCVاَور وہ اُنہیں نصیحت کے طور پر بہت سِی باتیں بتاتے اَور خُوشخبری سُناتے رہے۔BSBBSB: With these and many other exhortations, John proclaimed the good news to the people.
19. 19URDOUCVہیرودیسؔ چوتھائی علاقہ پر حُکمراں تھا جَب حضرت یُوحنّا نے اُسے ملامت کی تھی کیونکہ اُس نے اَپنے بھایٔی فِلِپُّسؔ کی بیوی ہیرودِیاسؔ سے شادی کرلی تھی اَور دُوسری بہت سِی بدکاریاں بھی کی تھیں۔BSBBSB: But when he rebuked Herod the tetrarch regarding his brother’s wife Herodias and all the evils he had done,
20. 20URDOUCVاُس نے سَب سے بُری حرکت یہ کی تھی کہ حضرت یُوحنّا کو قَید میں ڈلوادِیا۔BSBBSB: Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.
21. 21URDOUCVجَب سَب لوگ پاک غُسل لے رہے تھے تو یِسوعؔ نے بھی پاک غُسل لیا۔ اَور جَب وہ دعا کر رہے تھے، تو آسمان کھُل گیاBSBBSB: When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened,
22. 22URDOUCVاَور پاک رُوح جِسمانی صورت میں کبُوتر کی شکل میں حُضُور پر نازل ہُوا اَور آسمان سے ایک آواز آئی: ”تُو میرا پیارا بیٹا ہے، جِس سے میں مَحَبّت کرتا ہُوں؛ تُم سے میں بہت خُوش ہُوں۔“BSBBSB: and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
23. 23URDOUCVجَب یِسوعؔ نے اَپنا کام شروع کیا تو وہ تقریباً تیس بَرس کے تھے۔ اُنہیں یُوسیفؔ کا بیٹا سمجھا جاتا تھا، جو عیلیؔ کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: Jesus Himself was about thirty years old when He began His ministry. He was regarded as the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,
24. 24URDOUCVعیلیؔ متّاتؔ کا، متّاتؔ لیوی کا، لیوی ملکیؔ کا، ملکیؔ ینّایٔی کا اَور ینّایٔی یُوسیفؔ کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph,
25. 25URDOUCVیُوسیفؔ مَتِّتیاہؔ کا، مَتِّتیاہؔ عامُوسؔ کا، عامُوسؔ ناحُومؔ کا، ناحُومؔ اِیسلیؔ کا، اِیسلیؔ نُوگہَؔ کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,
26. 26URDOUCVاَور نُوگہَؔ ماعتؔ کا، ماعتؔ مَتِّتیاہؔ کا، مَتِّتیاہؔ شِمعیؔ کا، شِمعیؔ یوسیخؔ کا، یوسیخؔ یوداہؔ کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda,
27. 27URDOUCVیوداہؔ یُونانؔ کا، یُونانؔ ریساؔ کا، ریساؔ زرُبّابِیل کا، زرُبّابِیل شیالتی ایل کا، اَور شیالتی ایل نیریؔ کا،BSBBSB: the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,
28. 28URDOUCVنیریؔ ملکیؔ کا، ملکیؔ ادّیؔ کا، ادّیؔ قوسامؔ کا، قوسامؔ اِلمودامؔ کا، اِلمودامؔ عیرؔ کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er,
29. 29URDOUCVعیرؔ یہوشُعؔ کا، یہوشُعؔ الیعزرؔ کا، الیعزرؔ یوریمؔ کا، یوریمؔ متّاتؔ کا، اَور متّاتؔ لیوی کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi,
30. 30URDOUCVلیوی شمعُونؔ کا، شمعُونؔ یہُوداہؔ کا، یہُوداہؔ یُوسیفؔ کا، یُوسیفؔ یُونامؔ کا، اَور یُونامؔ اِلیاقیؔم کا بیٹا تھا،BSBBSB: the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim,
