Aaron’s First Offerings 1 WBS And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; BSB BSB: On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel.
WBS And he said to Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. BSB BSB: He said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and present them before the LORD.
WBS And to the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt-offering; BSB BSB: Then speak to the Israelites and say, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb—both a year old and without blemish—for a burnt offering,
WBS Also a bullock and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat-offering mingled with oil: for to-day the LORD will appear to you. BSB BSB: an ox and a ram for a peace offering to sacrifice before the LORD, and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.’”
WBS And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. BSB BSB: So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the Tent of Meeting, and the whole congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
WBS And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear to you. BSB BSB: And Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.”
WBS And Moses said to Aaron, Go to the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded. BSB BSB: Then Moses said to Aaron, “Approach the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering to make atonement for yourself and for the people. And sacrifice the people’s offering to make atonement for them, as the LORD has commanded.”
WBS Aaron therefore went to the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering, which was for himself. BSB BSB: So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself.
WBS And the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar: BSB BSB: The sons of Aaron brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and applied it to the horns of the altar. And he poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
WBS But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin-offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses. BSB BSB: On the altar he burned the fat, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver from the sin offering, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
WBS And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp. BSB BSB: But he burned up the flesh and the hide outside the camp.
WBS And he slew the burnt-offering; and Aaron's sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled around upon the altar. BSB BSB: Then Aaron slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he splattered it on all sides of the altar.
WBS And they presented the burnt-offering to him, with the pieces of it, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar. BSB BSB: They brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar.
WBS And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar. BSB BSB: He washed the entrails and the legs and burned them atop the burnt offering on the altar.
WBS And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which was the sin-offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. BSB BSB: Aaron then presented the people’s offering. He took the male goat for the people’s sin offering, slaughtered it, and offered it for sin like the first one.
WBS And he brought the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the manner. BSB BSB: He presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the ordinance.
WBS And he brought the meat-offering, and took a handful of it, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt-sacrifice of the morning. BSB BSB: Next he presented the grain offering, took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning’s burnt offering.
WBS He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled around upon the altar, BSB BSB: Then he slaughtered the ox and the ram as the people’s peace offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he splattered it on all sides of the altar.
WBS And the fat of the bullock, and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards , and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver: BSB BSB: They also brought the fat portions from the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the fat covering the entrails, the kidneys, and the lobe of the liver—
WBS And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar: BSB BSB: and placed these on the breasts. Aaron burned the fat portions on the altar,
WBS And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave-offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded. BSB BSB: but he waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the LORD, as Moses had commanded.
WBS And Aaron lifted up his hand towards the people, and blessed them; and came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and peace-offerings. BSB BSB: Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having made the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering, he stepped down.
WBS And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. BSB BSB: Moses and Aaron then entered the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
WBS And there came out a fire from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat: which , when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. BSB BSB: Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
