WBS And he said to them, Verily I say to you, that there are some of them that stand here who shall not taste death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. BSB BSB: Then Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God arrive with power.”
WBS And after six days, Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up upon a high mountain apart by themselves; and he was transfigured before them. BSB BSB: After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There He was transfigured before them.
WBS And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can whiten them. BSB BSB: His clothes became radiantly white, brighter than any launderer on earth could bleach them.

WBS And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. BSB BSB: Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
WBS For he knew not what to say: for they were greatly terrified. BSB BSB: For they were all so terrified that Peter did not know what else to say.
WBS And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. BSB BSB: Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him!”
WBS And suddenly, when they had looked around, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves. BSB BSB: Suddenly, when they looked around, they saw no one with them except Jesus.
WBS And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead. BSB BSB: As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus admonished them not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
WBS And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean. BSB BSB: So they kept this matter to themselves, discussing what it meant to rise from the dead.
WBS And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elijah must first come? BSB BSB: And they asked Jesus, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
WBS And he answered and told them, Elijah verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written concerning the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at naught. BSB BSB: He replied, “Elijah does indeed come first, and he restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected?
WBS But I say to you, that Elijah is indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they pleased, as it is written concerning him. BSB BSB: But I tell you that Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they wished, just as it is written about him.”

WBS And wherever he taketh him, he teareth him; and he foameth and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away; and I spoke to thy disciples that they should cast him out, and they could not. BSB BSB: Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked Your disciples to drive it out, but they were unable.”
WBS He answered him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you, how long shall I suffer you? bring him to me. BSB BSB: “O unbelieving generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to Me.”
WBS And they brought him to him: and when he saw him, immediately the spirit tore him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed, foaming. BSB BSB: So they brought him, and seeing Jesus, the spirit immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
WBS And often it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. BSB BSB: “It often throws him into the fire or into the water, trying to kill him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

WBS And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house, he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? BSB BSB: Then they came to Capernaum. While Jesus was in the house, He asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?”
WBS But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. BSB BSB: But they were silent, for on the way they had been arguing about which of them was the greatest.
WBS And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith to them, If any man desireth to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. BSB BSB: Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the last of all and the servant of all.”
WBS And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said to them, BSB BSB: Then He had a little child stand among them. Taking the child in His arms, He said to them,

WBS And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out demons in thy name, and he followeth not us; and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. BSB BSB: John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone else driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not accompany us.”
WBS But Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no man who shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. BSB BSB: “Do not stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no one who performs a miracle in My name can turn around and speak evil of Me.
WBS For he that is not against us, is on our part. BSB BSB: For whoever is not against us is for us.
WBS For whoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. BSB BSB: Indeed, if anyone gives you even a cup of water because you bear the name of Christ, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.
Temptations and Trespasses (Matthew 18:6–9; Luke 17:1–4)

BSB BSB: And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
