BSB BSB: For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries in the Spirit.
3 PBDT Amun, urang am bernubuat bapaner ka kalunen honi maniri, manyalu, lalue penghiburan. BSB BSB: But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, encouragement, and comfort.
4 PBDT Urang-urang am bapaner lalam bahasa lilah maniri arep nya kaniri, tapie urang am bernubuat maniri ungkup. BSB BSB: The one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.

Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
10 PBDT Mungkin, tege banya jenis bahasa kadunia lalue honta suti pun mula inya am honta baroga. BSB BSB: Assuredly, there are many different languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning.
11 PBDT Tapie, amun aku honta tahu arti bahasa itie, aku akan jadie urang asing akan inya am bapaner, lalue urang am bapaner iyah jadie urang asing akan aku. BSB BSB: If, then, I do not know the meaning of someone’s language, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me.
12 PBDT Bera iyah jam kolai, laie kolai bujur-bujur bausaha akan karunia-karuni rohani, bausaha nyaman berkelimpahan honi maniri ungkup. BSB BSB: It is the same with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, strive to excel in gifts that build up the church.
13 PBDT Laie iyah, hona lah urang am bapaner lalam bahasa lilah badoa nyaman inya tahu maartikannya. BSB BSB: Therefore, the one who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret.
14 PBDT Laie, amun aku badoa lalam bahasa lilah, roh ku badoa, tapie pikiran ku honta barubah. BSB BSB: For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
15 PBDT Jadie, apa am harus ku karuh? Aku akan badoa honi roh ku lalue aku akan badoa honi pikiranku. Aku akan manyanyi honi roh ku lalue aku akan manyanyi honi pikiranku. BSB BSB: What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.
16 PBDT Amun kolai baya maucap syukur honi roh mu, apa ulah urang, am tege lalam posisi honta bagora karunia iyah, tahu bapaner, "Amin," tingi ucapan syukurmu iyah laie inya honta paham apa am kolai paner? BSB BSB: Otherwise, if you speak a blessing in spirit, how can someone who is uninstructed say “Amen” to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?
17 PBDT Sakali pun kolai maucap syukur honi kabai, tapie urang bukan honta dipisik. BSB BSB: You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other one is not edified.

19 PBDT Amun, lalam ungkup, aku lobih baie bapaner lima kata honi pikiranku nyaman aku tahu manasah urang bukan, dari pada sapuluh ribu paner lalam bahasa lilah. BSB BSB: But in the church, I would rather speak five coherent words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 PBDT Kawan manyari, hinang jadie ana-ana lalam pikiranmu. Jadie lah onin lalam kajahat, tapie lalam pemikiranmu jadie dewasa! BSB BSB: Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.
21 PBDT Bera tatulis lalam Hukum Taurat, "Laie urang-urang am hompu bahasa asing lalue laie nyawa urang-urang asing, Aku akan bapaner kabangsa itie, tapie urang honta akan manongar Aku, firman Tuhan." BSB BSB: It is written in the Law: “By strange tongues and foreign lips I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to Me, says the Lord.”
22 PBDT Jadie, bahasa-bahasa lilah iyah am tana, bukan kan urang am parcaya, tapie kan urang am honta parcaya, sedangkan bernubuat iyah am tana, bukan urang am honta parcaya, tapie kan urang am parcaya. BSB BSB: Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.
23 PBDT Amun saluruh ungkup bakumpul barota lalam suti homan, lalue urasnya bapaner honi bahasa-bahasa lilah, lalue tege urang am honta paham lalue urang honta parcaya tama, hontakah urang akan mamaner laie kolai jadie gila? BSB BSB: So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who are uninstructed or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your minds?
24 PBDT Tapie, amun uras nya banubuat, limah iyah tege urang am honta parcaya lalue urang am honta paham tama, inya akan disadarkan laie urasnya lalue kona nilai laie urasnya. BSB BSB: But if an unbeliever or uninstructed person comes in while everyone is prophesying, he will be convicted and called to account by all,
25 PBDT Rahasia lalam hatinya akan nyata, inya akan tarahap, lalue manyomah Hatalla, maakui laie sabujurnya Hatalla tege kaantara kolai. BSB BSB: and the secrets of his heart will be made known. So he will fall facedown and worship God, proclaiming, “God is truly among you!”

36 PBDT Apakah firman Hatalla baasal mula kolai? Lalue, apa kolai meh firman iyah diparah? BSB BSB: Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only ones it has reached?
37 PBDT Amun tege am bapikir amun inya iyah am siku nabi lalue urang am rohani, nauh nya am urang mangasene laie hal-hal am aku tulis ka kolai iyah am perintah Tuhan. BSB BSB: If anyone considers himself a prophet or spiritual person, let him acknowledge that what I am writing you is the Lord’s command.
38 PBDT Amun tege urang am honta mangasene itie, inya honta di kasene. BSB BSB: But if anyone ignores this, he himself will be ignored.
39 PBDT Jadie, kawan manyari, usahakan bahoni kabujur honi banubuat, lalue hinang mangirah urang bapaner lalam bahasa lilah. BSB BSB: So, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
40 PBDT Tapie, urasnya dikaruh honi kaharoti lalue taatur. BSB BSB: But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.
