2 PBDT Dengan itie, diri tahu bahwa diri masiha ana-ana Hatalla, iyaham katika diri masiha Hatalla lalu manaat parintah-parintah-Nya. BSB BSB: By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 PBDT Lai itie bori Hatalla, bahwa diri manaat parintah-parintah-Nya; lalu parintah-parintah-Nya hontaja borat. BSB BSB: For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,

6 PBDT Inya itie ja am datang dengan arai darah: Yesus Kristus; bukan am dengan arai, am bukan dengan arai rang nua darah. Rohja am basaksi lai Roh iyah kabujur. BSB BSB: This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.

BSB BSB: Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.
12 PBDT Satiap urang am hompu Sang Ana hompu hirup; satiap urang am honta hompu Ana Hatalla honta hompu hirup. BSB BSB: Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
14 PBDT Itie ja kayakinan am diri hompu ka paharap Inya, iyaham jakai diri maminta apa pun am sasuai dengan kahona-Nya, Inya manongar diri. BSB BSB: And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 PBDT Jakai diri tahu Inya manongar diri, apa pun am diri minta, diri tahu bahwa diri jadi hompu parmohonan am jadi diri minta mula-Nya. BSB BSB: And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
16 PBDT Jakai tege urang am maila manyarinya mangaruh dosa am honta maarah ka kamati, bai ja urang iyah maminta, Hatalla akan mamorikan hirup ka urang am mangaruh dosa am honta maarahkan ka mati iyah. BSB BSB: If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.
17 PBDT Uras ka honta bujur yaham dosa, tapi tege dosa am honta maarahkan kamati. BSB BSB: All unrighteousness is sin, yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
18 PBDT Diri tahu bahwa satiap urang am lahir mula Hatalla honta mangaruh dosa, tapi inya am lahir mula Hatalla malindungnya mula si jahat nyaman honta manyoputnya. BSB BSB: We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
19 PBDT Diri tahu bahwa diri baasal mula Hatalla, lalu saluruh dunia homan lalam kuasa si Jahat. BSB BSB: We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
20 PBDT Lai, diri tahu Ana Hatalla jadi datang mamorikan pangertian ka diri nyaman diri baulih mangasene Inya am bujur; diri tege ka lalam Inya am bujur, lalam Ana-Nya, Yesus Kristus. Inya ja Hatalla am bujur lalam hirup am kekal. BSB BSB: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21 PBDT Ana-anaku, jauhkan kanirimu mula bahala-bahala. BSB BSB: Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
