BSB BSB: You crave what you do not have; you kill and covet, but are unable to obtain it. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask.
3 PBDT Tapi, kolai maminta, tapi honta baulih laie kolai maminta honi alasan am salah, inyaham honi mamuaskan hawa nafsumu. BSB BSB: And when you do ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may squander it on your pleasures.
4 PBDT Ui, kolai penzina, honta ingatkah kolai am basahabat akan dunia baarti bamusuh akan Hatalla? Laie iti, sapa am hona basahabat akan dunia, inya kona jadi dirinya musuh Hatalla. BSB BSB: You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God.
5 PBDT Apakah kolai pikir Kitab Suci honta baalasan bapaner," Roh am kona omah ka lalam diri uras kona kahona-Nya honi ngamuru."? BSB BSB: Or do you think the Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to dwell in us yearns with envy?

8 PBDT Dampingkan ka Hatalla, maka inya akan damping ka kolai. Rasihkan jarimu, ui urang-urang am badosa, lalu murnikan hatimu, ui urang-urang am manduakan hati. BSB BSB: Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 PBDT Prihatin, baduka, lalu tampaikan; biar am pagorahmu baubah jadi ratapan lalu sukacitamu jadi dukacita. BSB BSB: Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
10 PBDT Ronahkan hatimu ka paharap Tuhan, maka Inya akan bakahona kan kolai. (Hinang mancela lalu manghakimi sasamahmu) BSB BSB: Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.
11 PBDT Kawan manyari, hinang kali bapaner hal am jahat ka antaramu. Urang am bapaner am jahat tuntang manyarinya, atau manghakimi manyarinya, bapaner malawan hukum lalu manghakimi hukum. Amun kolai manghaimi hukum, kolai bukan palaku hukum, tapi hakimnya. BSB BSB: Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. And if you judge the law, you are not a practitioner of the law, but a judge of it.

17 PBDT Jadi, amun siku urang tahu apa ulahnya angaruh am baie, tapi honta mangarunya, inya badosa. BSB BSB: Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.
