1 ULB በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የእግዚአብሔር እስረኛና አገልጋይ የሆነ ያዕቆብ በክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ ለሚያምኑና በመላው ዓለም ለተበተኑት ለአሥራ ሁለቱ ነገዶች ሰላም ለእናንተ ይሁን፡፡ BSB BSB: James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes of the Dispersion: Greetings.
2 ULB ወንድሞቼ ሆይ፣ በልዩ ልዩ ፈተናዎች ውስጥ ማለፋችሁን እጅግ ደስ እንደሚያሰኝ ነገር ቊጠሩት፡፡ BSB BSB: Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds,
3 ULB በፈተና ውስጥ ሳላችሁ በእግዚአብሔር ስታምኑ ይበልጥ ሌሎች ፈተናዎችን በትዕግሥት ለማሳለፍ የሚረዱዋችሁ መሆኑን ትረዳላችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
4 ULB ክርስቶስን በሁሉም መንገድ ትከተሉ ዘንድ እስከ መጨረሻው በፈተና ጽኑ፤ ያንጊዜ መልካም ማድረግ አይከብዳችሁም፡፡ BSB BSB: Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
6 ULB እግዚአብሔርን ስትለምኑ፣ የምትጠይቁትን እንደሚሰጣችሁ እመኑ፤ መልስ እንደሚሰጣችሁና ሁልጊዜም እንደሚረዳችሁ አትጠራጠሩ፤ የሚጠራጠሩ ሰዎች እግዚአብሔርን ሊከተሉት አይችሉም፤ መጠራጠር ልክ ተመልሶ እንደሚመጣ፣ ደግሞም በዚያው አቅጣጫ መጓዝን እንደማይቀጥል የባሕር ማዕበል ያለ ነገር ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
7 ULB በእርግጥ የሚጠራጠሩ ሰዎች የሚጠይቁትን ነገር ለመፈጸም እግዚአብሔር አንድ ነገር ሊያደርግ እንደሚችል አያምኑም፡፡ BSB BSB: That man should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
8 ULB እነዚህ ሰዎች ኢየሱስን ለመከተል ወይም ላለመከተል ያልወሰኑ ናቸው፤ እነዚህም የሚናገሩትን ነገር የማያደርጉ ሰዎች ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
9 ULB ድሀ የሆኑ አማኞች እግዚአብሔር ስላከበራቸው ደስ ሊሰኙ ይገባል፡፡ BSB BSB: The brother in humble circumstances should exult in his high position.
10 ULB ባለጠጋ የሆኑ አማኞችም እግዚአብሔር ትሑታን ስላደረጋቸው ደስ ሊሰኙ ይገባል፤ ልክ የበረሃ አበቦች እንደሚደርቁ ሁሉ፣ እነርሱም ሆኑ ሀብታቸው የሚያልፉ ናቸውና፡፡ BSB BSB: But the one who is rich should exult in his low position, because he will pass away like a flower of the field.
11 ULB ፀሐይ በሚወጣ ጊዜ ሞቃታማ የሆነው ነፋስ ተክሎችን ያደርቃል፤ ደግሞም አበቦችን በምድር ላይ እንዲወድቁም ሆነ በውበታቸው እንዳይቀጥሉ ያደርጋቸዋል፡፡ ባለ ጠጎች ልክ እንደሚሞቱ አበቦች ሁሉ ገንዘብን እየሰበሰቡ ሳሉ ይሞታሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its flower falls and its beauty is lost. So too, the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
12 ULB በመከራ የሚጸኑትን ሰዎች እግዚአብሔር ያከብራቸዋል፤ ለሚወድዱት ሁሉ ተስፋ እንደ ሰጠው ለዘላለም እንዲኖሩ በማድረግ ብድራታቸውን ይከፍላቸዋል፡፡ BSB BSB: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.
14 ULB እያንዳንዱ ሰው የሚፈተነው በራሱ ክፉ ምኞት ሲታለልና ሲሳብ ነው። BSB BSB: But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed.
15 ULB ክፉ ምኞት ከተፀነሰ በኋላ ኀጢአት ይወለዳል፤ ኀጢአትም ካደገች በኋላ ሞት ይወለዳል። BSB BSB: Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
16 ULB የተወደዳችሁ ወንድሞቼ አትታለሉ። BSB BSB: Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
17 ULB ማንኛውም መልካምና ፍጹም ስጦታ እንደሚዘዋወር ጥላ ከማይለዋወጠው ከላይ ከሰማይ ከብርሃናት አባት ይወርዳል። BSB BSB: Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.
18 ULB በፍጥረታቱ መካከል እንደ በኵራት እንድንሆን እግዚአብሔር በእውነት ቃል ሕይወት ሊሰጠን ወደደ። BSB BSB: He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.
19 ULB የተወደዳችሁ ወንድሞቼ፣ ይህን ዕወቁ። ሰው ሁሉ ለመስማት የፈጠነ፣ ለመናገር የዘገዬ፣ ለመቆጣትም የዘገዬ ይሁን! BSB BSB: My beloved brothers, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger,
20 ULB ምክንያቱም የሰው ቊጣ የእግዚአብሔርን ጽድቅ አያመጣም። BSB BSB: for man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness that God desires.
21 ULB ስለዚህ ርኵሰትንና በየቦታው ሞልቶ ያለውን ክፋት አስወግዳችሁ ነፍሳችሁን ማዳን የሚችለውን በውስጣችሁ የተተከለውን ቃል በትሕትና ተቀበሉ። BSB BSB: Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and every expression of evil, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save your souls.
22 ULB ለቃሉ ታዘዙ እንጂ፣ ሰሚዎች ብቻ በመሆን ራሳችሁን አታታልሉ። BSB BSB: Be doers of the word, and not hearers only. Otherwise, you are deceiving yourselves.
23 ULB ማንም ቃሉን እየሰማ ቃሉ የሚለውን ባያደርግ፣ ፊቱን በመስታወት እንደሚያይ ሰው ይሆናል። BSB BSB: For anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror,
24 ULB ፊቱን አይቶ ይሄዳል፤ ምን እንደሚመስል ግን ወዲያው ይረሳዋል። BSB BSB: and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
25 ULB ፍጹሙንና ነጻ የሚያወጣውን ሕግ በጥንቃቄ የሚመለከትና የሚኖርበት እንጂ፣ ሰምቶ እንደሚረሳው ያልሆነ ሰው በሚያደርገው ሁሉ የተባረከ ይሆናል። BSB BSB: But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom, and continues to do so—not being a forgetful hearer, but an effective doer—he will be blessed in what he does.
26 ULB አንድ ሰው ሃይማኖተኛ ነኝ እያለ፣ አንደበቱን ግን ባይቆጣጠር፣ ልቡን ያስታል፤ ሃይማኖቱም ከንቱ ነው። BSB BSB: If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not bridle his tongue, he deceives his heart and his religion is worthless.
27 ULB በእግዚአብሔር በአባታችን ፊት ንጹሕና ርኵሰት የሌለበት ሃይማኖት ይህ ነው፤ አባት የሌላቸውንና መበለቶችን በችግራቸው መርዳት፤ በዓለም ካለ ርኵሰት ራስን መጠበቅ። BSB BSB: Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
