1 ULB ከዚህ በኋላ ኢየሱስ የጥብርያዶስ ባሕር ወደሚባለው ወደ ገሊላ ባሕር ማዶ ተሻገረ፡፡ BSB BSB: After this, Jesus crossed to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias).
2 ULB ብዙ ሰዎች ሕመምተኞችን በመፈወስ ያደረጋቸውን ተአምራት ስላዩ ተከተሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: A large crowd followed Him because they saw the signs He was performing on the sick.
3 ULB ኢየሱስ ወደ ተራራ ወጥቶ ከደቀ መዛሙርቱ ጋር በዚያ ተቀመጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus went up on the mountain and sat down with His disciples.
4 ULB የአይሁድ የፋሲካ በዓልም ተቃርቦ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: Now the Jewish Feast of the Passover was near.
5 ULB ኢየሱስ ብዙ ሕዝብ ወደ እርሱ ሲመጣ ባየ ጊዜ፣ ፊልጶስን፣ ‹‹ይህ ሁሉ ሕዝብ እንዲበላ እንጀራ ከየት እንግዛ?›› አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?”
6 ULB ኢየሱስ ይህን ያለው ፊልጶስን ሊፈትን ነበር እንጂ፣ እርሱ ራሱ ሊያደርግ ያሰበውን ያውቅ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: But He was asking this to test him, for He knew what He was about to do.
7 ULB ፊልጶስ፣ ‹‹ይህ ለእያንዳንዱ ሰው ቍራሽ እንዲደርሰው የሁለት መቶ ዲናር እንጀራ እንኳ ብንገዛ አይበቃም›› አለ፡፡ BSB BSB: Philip answered, “Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to have a small piece.”
8 ULB ከደቀ መዛሙርቱ አንዱ፣ የስምዖን ጴጥሮስ ወንድም የሆነው እንድርያስም ኢየሱስን፣ BSB BSB: One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,
9 ULB ‹‹አምስት የገብስ እንጀራና ሁለት ዓሣ የያዘ አንድ ልጅ እዚህ አለ፤ ነገር ግን ይህ ለዚህ ሁሉ ሕዝብ ምን ይጠቅማል?›› አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: “Here is a boy with five barley loaves and two small fish. But what difference will these make among so many?”
10 ULB ኢየሱስ፣ ‹‹ሕዝቡ እንዲቀመጡ አድርጉ›› አላቸው፡፡ ስፍራውም በሣር የተሸፈነ ነበር፡፡ ስለዚህ ቍጥራቸው አምስት ሺህ የሚያህል ወንዶች ተቀመጡ፡፡ BSB BSB: “Have the people sit down,” Jesus said. Now there was plenty of grass in that place, so the men sat down, about five thousand of them.
11 ULB ከዚያም ኢየሱስ እንጀራውንና ሁለቱን ዓሣ ይዞ ባረከና ለተቀመጡት ዐደለ፡፡ በተመሳሳይ መንገድ ከዓሣውም የሚፈልጉትን ያህል ዐደላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus took the loaves and the fish, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted.
12 ULB ሕዝቡ በጠገቡ ጊዜ፣ ኢየሱስ ደቀ መዛሙርቱን፣ ‹‹አንዳችም እንዳይጣል የተረፈውን ፍርፋሪ ሰብስቡ›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: And when everyone was full, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over, so that nothing will be wasted.”
13 ULB ስለዚህ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ሕዝቡ ከበሉ በኋላ የተረፈውን ዐሥራ ሁለት መሶብ ሙሉ የገብስ እንጀራ ፍርፋሪ ሰበሰቡ፡፡ BSB BSB: So they collected them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.
15 ULB ኢየሱስም ሊመጡና ይዘው በግድ ሊያነግሡት እንደ ፈለጉ በተረዳ ጊዜ፣ እንደ ገና ለብቻው ወደ ተራራ ጫፍ ወጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus, realizing that they were about to come and make Him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by Himself.
16 ULB በመሸም ጊዜ፣ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ወደ ባሕሩ ወረዱ፤ BSB BSB: When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,
17 ULB በጀልባ ተሳፍረው ወደ ቅፍርናሆም በባሕር ላይ መጓዝ ጀመሩ፡፡ ጊዜው መሽቶ ነበር፤ ኢየሱስም ገና ወደ እነርሱ አልመጣም ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet gone out to them.
18 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ ባሕሩ ከኀይለኛ ነፋስ የተነሣ ይታወክ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: A strong wind was blowing, and the sea grew agitated.
19 ULB ከዚያም ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ሃያ አምስት ወይም ሠላሳ ምዕራፍ ያህል እንደ ቀዘፉ፣ ኢየሱስ በባሕር ላይ እየሄደ እነርሱ ወዳሉበት ጀልባ ሲቃረብ አይተውት ፈሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the sea—and they were terrified.
20 ULB ይሁን እንጂ እርሱ፣ ‹‹እኔ ነኝ አትፍሩ›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: But Jesus spoke up: “It is I; do not be afraid.”
21 ULB ከዚያም ጀልባዋ ላይ እንዲወጣ ፈቀዱለት፣ ጀልባዋም ወዲያው ወደሚሄዱበት ስፍራ ደረሰች፡፡ BSB BSB: Then they were willing to take Him into the boat, and at once the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
22 ULB በማግስቱም በማዶ ቆመው የነበሩ ሕዝብ አንድም ጀልባ በባሕሩ ላይ እንዳልነበረ አዩ፤ በዚያ የነበረው አንድ ጀልባ ኢየሱስ ከደቀ መዛሙርቱ ጋር ያልተሳፈረበት ብቻ ነበር፤ ደቀ መዛሙርቱም ብቻቸውን ከዚያ ሄደው ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: The next day, the crowd that had remained on the other side of the sea realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded it with His disciples, but they had gone away alone.
23 ULB ይሁን እንጂ ጌታ አመስግኖ ሰዎቹን እንጀራ ካበላበት ስፍራ አጠገብ፣ ከጥብርያዶስ የመጡ አንዳንድ ጀልባዎች እዚያ ነበሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: However, some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
24 ULB ሕዝቡም፣ ኢየሱስም ሆነ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ እዚያ እንዳልነበሩ በተረዱ ጊዜ፣ ራሳቸው በጀልባዎቹ ተሳፍረው ኢየሱስን ፍለጋ ሄዱ፡፡ BSB BSB: So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum to look for Him.
25 ULB በባሕሩ ማዶ ኢየሱስን ባገኙት ጊዜ፣ ‹‹መምህር ሆይ፤ ወደዚህ የመጣኸው መቼ ነው?›› አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they asked Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here?”
26 ULB ኢየሱስ እንዲህ ሲል መለሰላቸው፤ ‹‹እውነት፣ እውነት እላችኋለሁ፣ እኔን የምትፈልጉኝ ምልክቶችን ስላያችሁ ሳይሆን፣ እንጀራውን በልታችሁ ስለ ጠገባችሁ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it is not because you saw these signs that you are looking for Me, but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
27 ULB ለሚጠፋ ምግብ አትሥሩ፤ ይልቁን ወልድ ለሚሰጣችሁ ዘላለም ለሚኖር ሕይወት ሥሩ፤ እግዚአብሔር አብ ማኅተሙን በእርሱ ላይ አትሞአልና፡፡›› BSB BSB: Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.”
28 ULB ከዚያም፣ ‹‹የእግዚአብሔርን ሥራ እንድንሠራ ምን እናድርግ?›› አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?”
29 ULB ኢየሱስ፣ ‹‹የምትሠሩት የእግዚአብሔር ሥራ እርሱ በላከው ማመን ነው›› ብሎ መለሰላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”
30 ULB ስለዚህ እነርሱ እንዲህ አሉት፤ ‹‹አይተን እንድናምንህ ምን ተአምር ትሠራለህ? ምንስ ታደርጋለህ? BSB BSB: So they asked Him, “What sign then will You perform, so that we may see it and believe You? What will You do?
31 ULB ‹እንዲበሉ ከሰማይ እንጀራ ሰጣቸው› ተብሎ እንደ ተጻፈ፣ አባቶቻችን በምድረ በዳ መና በሉ፡፡›› BSB BSB: Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
32 ULB ከዚያም ኢየሱስ እንዲህ ብሎ መለሰላቸው፤ ‹‹እውነት፣ እውነት እላችኋለሁ፤ መና እንድትበሉ ከሰማይ የሰጣችሁ ሙሴ አልነበረም፤ ነገር ግን ከሰማይ እውነተኛ እንጀራ የሚሰጣችሁ አባቴ ነው፤ BSB BSB: Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 ULB ከሰማይ የሚወርድና ለዓለም ሕይወትን የሚሰጥ የእግዚአብሔር እንጀራ ነውና፡፡›› BSB BSB: For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 ULB ስለዚህ፣ ‹‹ጌታ ሆይ፣ ይህን እንጀራ ዘወትር ስጠን›› አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: “Sir,” they said, “give us this bread at all times.”
35 ULB ኢየሱስም እንዲህ አላቸው፤ ‹‹እኔ የሕይወት እንጀራ ነኝ፤ ወደ እኔ የሚመጣ አይራብም፤ በእኔ የሚያምንም ከቶ አይጠማም፡፡ BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.
36 ULB ነገር ግን እኔን አይታችሁ አሁንም ገና ስላላመናችሁብኝ ይህን አልኋችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: But as I stated, you have seen Me and still you do not believe.
39 ULB የላከኝም ፈቃድ፣ እርሱ ከሰጠኝ ሁሉ አንድም ሳይጠፋ፣ በመጨረሻው ቀን እንዳስነሣቸው ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day.
40 ULB የአባቴ ፈቃድ፣ ወልድን አይቶ በእርሱ ያመነ ሁሉ የዘላለም ሕይወት እንዲኖረው ነው፡፡ እኔም በመጨረሻው ቀን አስነሣዋለሁ፡፡›› BSB BSB: For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”
41 ULB ከዚያም የአይሁድ መሪዎች፣ ‹‹እኔ ከሰማይ የወረድሁ የሕይወት እንጀራ ነኝ›› በማለቱ አጕረመረሙበት፡፡ BSB BSB: At this, the Jews began to grumble about Jesus because He had said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
42 ULB እነርሱ፣ ‹‹ይህ ኢየሱስ የዮሴፍ ልጅ አይደለምን? አባቱንና እናቱንስ የምናውቃቸው አይደሉምን? ታዲያ፣ እንዴት ከሰማይ ወረድሁ ይለናል?›› ተባባሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
43 ULB ኢየሱስ እንዲህ ሲል መለሰላቸው፤ ‹‹እርስ በርስ ማጕረምረማችሁን ተዉት፡፡ BSB BSB: “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied.
44 ULB አብ ከሳበው በቀር ወደ እኔ የሚመጣ የለም፤ እኔም በመጨረሻው ቀን አስነሣዋለሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 ULB በነቢያት፣ ‹ሁሉም ከእግዚአብሔር የተማሩ ይሆናሉ› ተብሎ እንደ ተጻፈ፣ ከአብ የሰማና የተማረ ሁሉ ወደ እኔ ይመጣል፡፡ BSB BSB: It is written in the Prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me—
46 ULB ከእግዚአብሔር ከሆነው በቀር አብን ያየ ማንም የለም፤ እርሱ አብን አይቶታል፡፡ BSB BSB: not that anyone has seen the Father except the One who is from God; only He has seen the Father.
47 ULB እውነት፣ እውነት እላችኋለሁ፤ የሚያምን የዘላለም ሕይወት አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, he who believes has eternal life.
48 ULB እኔ የሕይወት እንጀራ ነኝ፡፡ BSB BSB: I am the bread of life.
49 ULB አባቶቻችሁ በበረሐ መና በሉ፣ ሞቱም፡፡ BSB BSB: Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.
50 ULB ሰው በልቶት እንዳይሞት፣ ከሰማይ የወረደ እንጀራ ይህ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die.
51 ULB ከሰማይ የወረደ ሕያው እንጀራ እኔ ነኝ፡፡ ሰው ከዚህ እንጀራ ቢበላ ለዘላለም ይኖራል፡፡ ለዓለም ሕይወት እንዲሆነው የምሰጠው እንጀራ ሥጋዬ ነው፡፡›› BSB BSB: I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.”
52 ULB አይሁድ በዚህ አባባሉ ተቈጥተው፣ ‹‹ይህ ሰው እንዴት እንድንበላ ሥጋውን ሊሰጠን ይችላል?›› በማለት እርስ በርስ ተከራከሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: At this, the Jews began to argue among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”
53 ULB ከዚያም ኢየሱስ፣ ‹‹እውነት፣ እውነት እላችኋለሁ፤ የሰውን ልጅ ሥጋ ካልበላችሁ፣ ደሙንም ካልጠጣችሁ የራሳችሁ የሆነ ሕይወት አይኖራችሁም›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you.
54 ULB ‹‹ሥጋዬን የሚበላ፣ ደሜንም የሚጠጣ የዘላለም ሕይወት አለው፤ እኔም በመጨረሻው ቀን አስነሣዋለሁ፤ BSB BSB: Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 ULB ሥጋዬ እውነተኛ መብል፣ ደሜም እውነተኛ መጠጥ ነውና፡፡ BSB BSB: For My flesh is real food, and My blood is real drink.
56 ULB ሥጋዬን የሚበላ፣ ደሜንም የሚጠጣ በእኔ ይኖራል፤ እኔም በእርሱ እኖራለሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.
57 ULB ሕያው አብ እንደ ላከኝና እኔ ከአብ የተነሣ እንደምኖር፣ የሚበላኝም ከእኔ የተነሣ ሕያው ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
58 ULB አባቶቻችን በልተውት እንደ ሞቱ ዐይነት ሳይሆን፣ ይህ ከሰማይ የወረደ እንጀራ ነው፡፡ ይህን እንጀራ የበላ ለዘላለም ይኖራል፡፡›› BSB BSB: This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever.”
60 ULB ከዚያም ከደቀ መዛሙርቱ ብዙዎቹ ይህን ሲሰሙ፣ ‹‹ይህ ጠንካራ ትምህርት ነው፤ ማን ሊቀበለው ይችላል?›› አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: On hearing it, many of His disciples said, “This is a difficult teaching. Who can accept it?”
61 ULB ኢየሱስ በዚህ ማጕረምረማቸውን በገዛ ራሱ ስላወቀ፣ ‹‹ይህ አሰናከላችሁ እንዴ? BSB BSB: Aware that His disciples were grumbling about this teaching, Jesus asked them, “Does this offend you?
62 ULB ታዲያ፣ የሰው ልጅ ቀድሞ ወደ ነበረበት ስፍራ፣ ተመልሶ ወደ ላይ ሲወጣ ብታዩ ምን ልትሉ ነው? BSB BSB: Then what will happen if you see the Son of Man ascend to where He was before?
63 ULB ሕይወት የሚሰጠው መንፈስ ነው፤ ሥጋ ለምንም አይጠቅምም፡፡ እኔ የነገርኋችሁ ቃላት መንፈስ ናቸው፤ ሕይወትም ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
64 ULB ይሁን እንጂ፣ ከእናንተ መካከል የማያምኑ አንዳንዶች አሉ›› አለ፡፡ ከመጀመሪያው በእርሱ የማያምኑ እነማን እንደ ሆኑና የሚከዳው ማን እንደ ሆነ ያውቅ ነበርና፡፡ BSB BSB: However, there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray Him.)
65 ULB ደግሞም፣ ‹‹ከአብ ከተሰጠው በቀር ማንም ወደ እኔ ሊመጣ አይችልም ያልኋችሁ ለዚህ ነው›› አለ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.”
67 ULB ኢየሱስ ዐሥራ ሁለቱን፣ ‹‹እናንተም ትታችሁኝ ልትሄዱ ትፈልጋላችሁን?›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: So Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?”
68 ULB ስምዖን ጴጥሮስ እንዲህ ብሎ መለሰለት፤ ‹‹ጌታ ሆይ፣ ወደ ማን እንሄዳለን? አንተ የዘላለም ሕይወት ቃል አለህ፤ BSB BSB: Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69 ULB እኛም አምነናል፤ አንድያ የእግዚአብሔር ቅዱስ መሆንህንም ዐወቀናል፡፡›› BSB BSB: We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.”
70 ULB ኢየሱስ፣ ‹‹እኔ ዐሥራ ሁለታችሁንም መርጫችሁ የለም ወይ? ከእናንተም መካከል አንዱ ዲያብሎስ ነው›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”
71 ULB ይህን ያለው ከዐሥራ ሁለቱ አንዱ ስለ ሆነውና ኋላም ኢየሱስን አሳልፎ ስለ ሰጠው፣ ስለ አስቆሮቱ ስምዖን ልጅ፣ ስለ ይሁዳ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: He was speaking about Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. For although Judas was one of the Twelve, he was later to betray Jesus.
