1 ULB ከዚህ በኋላ ኢየሱስ አይሁድ ሊገድሉት ይፈልጉ ስለ ነበር፣ ወደ ይሁዳ መሄድ አልፈለገም፤ ስለዚህ እዚያው በገሊላ ውስጥ ይመላለስ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: After this, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He did not want to travel in Judea, because the Jews there were trying to kill Him.
2 ULB የአይሁድ የዳስ በዓል የሚከበርበትም ጊዜ ተቃርቦ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: However, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near.
3 ULB ስለዚህ ወንድሞቹ እንዲህ አሉት፤ ‹‹ተነሥተህ ከዚህ ስፍራ ወደ ይሁዳ አውራጃ ሂድ፤ ደቀ መዛሙርትህም ደግሞ አንተ የምትሠራውን ሥራ ይዩ፡፡ BSB BSB: So Jesus’ brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples there may see the works You are doing.
4 ULB በሕዝብ ፊት መታወቅ የሚፈልግ ሰው የሚሠራውን ሥራ በድብቅ አያደርግም፡፡ እነዚህን ነገሮች የምታደርግ ከሆነ፣ ራስህን ለዓለም አሳይ፡፡›› BSB BSB: For no one who wants to be known publicly acts in secret. Since You are doing these things, show Yourself to the world.”
6 ULB ስለዚህ ኢየሱስ እንዲህ አላቸው፤ ‹‹ጊዜዬ ገና ነው፡፡ ለእናንተማ ጊዜው ሁሉ የተመቸ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: Therefore Jesus told them, “Although your time is always at hand, My time has not yet come.
7 ULB ዓለም እናንተን ሊጠላችሁ አይችልም፡፡ እኔን ግን በክፉ ሥራው ስለምመሰክርበት፣ ይጠላኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me, because I testify that its works are evil.
8 ULB እናንተ ወደ በዓሉ ውጡ፤ እኔ ግን ጊዜዬ ገና ስላልደረሰ፣ ወደ በዓሉ አልሄድም፡፡›› BSB BSB: Go up to the feast on your own. I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet come.”
9 ULB እርሱ ይህን ካላቸው በኋላ፣ በገሊላ ቈየ፡፡ BSB BSB: Having said this, Jesus remained in Galilee.
10 ULB ነገር ግን ወንድሞቹ ወደ በዓሉ ከሄዱ በኋላ እርሱም በግልጽ ሳይሆን በስውር ወደዚያው ሄደ፡፡ BSB BSB: But after His brothers had gone up to the feast, He also went—not publicly, but in secret.
11 ULB አይሁድ በበዓሉ ላይ ሊፈልጉት ሄደው፣ ‹‹እርሱ ያለው የት ነው?›› አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: So the Jews were looking for Him at the feast and asking, “Where is He?”
12 ULB በሕዝቡም መካከል ብዙ ውይይት ተነሥቶ ነበር፡፡ አንዳንዶቹ፣ ‹‹እርሱ ጥሩ ሰው ነው›› አሉ፤ ሌሎቹም፣ ‹‹አይደለም፣ ሕዝቡን እያሳተ ነው›› አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Many in the crowds were whispering about Him. Some said, “He is a good man.” But others replied, “No, He deceives the people.”
13 ULB ይሁን እንጂ፣ አይሁድን ስለ ፈሩ፣ ስለ እርሱ በግልጽ የተናገረ ማንም አልነበረም፡፡ BSB BSB: Yet no one would speak publicly about Him for fear of the Jews.
14 ULB በበዓሉ አጋማሽ ላይ፣ ኢየሱስ ወደ ቤተ መቅደስ ወጥቶ ማስተማር ጀመረ፡፡ BSB BSB: About halfway through the feast, Jesus went up to the temple courts and began to teach.
16 ULB ኢየሱስ እንዲህ ብሎ መለሰላቸው፤ ‹‹የማስተምረው ከራሴ አይደለም፤ ነገር ግን ትምህርቴ ከላከኝ ነው›፡፡ BSB BSB: “My teaching is not My own,” Jesus replied. “It comes from Him who sent Me.
17 ULB ማንም የእርሱን ፈቃድ ለማድረግ ቢፈልግ፣ ይህ ትምህርት ከእግዚአብሔር የመጣ መሆኑን ወይም ከራሴ የምናገር መሆኑን ያውቃል፡፡ BSB BSB: If anyone desires to do His will, he will know whether My teaching is from God or whether I speak on My own.
18 ULB ከራሱ የሚናገር የራሱን ክብር ይፈልጋል፤ የላከውን ክብር የሚፈልግ ግን እውነተኛ ነው፤ ሐሰትም የለበትም፡፡ BSB BSB: He who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory, but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is a man of truth; in Him there is no falsehood.
19 ULB ሙሴ ሕግ ሰጥቶአችሁ አልነበረምን? ነገር ግን ከእናንተ ሕጉን የሚጠብቅ አንድም ሰው የለም፡፡ ለመሆኑ፣ ልትገድሉኝ የምትፈልጉት ለምንድን ነው?›› BSB BSB: Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps it. Why are you trying to kill Me?”
20 ULB ሕዝቡ፣ ‹‹ጋኔን አለብህ፤ አንተን ማን ሊገድል ይፈልጋል?›› ብለው መለሱ፡፡ BSB BSB: “You have a demon,” the crowd replied. “Who is trying to kill You?”
21 ULB ኢየሱስ እንዲህ ብሎ መለሰላቸው፤ ‹‹አንድን ሥራ በመሥራቴ ሁላችሁም በዚህ ትደነቃላችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: Jesus answered them, “I did one miracle, and you are all amazed.
22 ULB ሙሴ ግዝረትን ሰጣችሁ፤ ይህም የመጣው ከአባቶች እንጂ ከሙሴ አልነበረም፤ ስለሆነም፣ በሰንበት ቀን ሰውን ትገርዛላችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: But because Moses gave you circumcision, you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath (not that it is from Moses, but from the patriarchs.)
23 ULB ሰውን በሰንበት ቀን ስትገርዙ የሙሴ ሕግ የማይሻር ከሆነ፣ እኔ በሰንበት ቀን የሰውን መላ አካል ስላዳንሁ ለምን በእኔ ላይ ትቈጣላችሁ? BSB BSB: If a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses will not be broken, why are you angry with Me for making the whole man well on the Sabbath?
24 ULB መልክ በማየት ሳይሆን በቅንነት ፍረዱ፡፡›› BSB BSB: Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly.”
25 ULB ከኢየሩሳሌም ከመጡት አንዳንዶቹ እንዲህ አሉ፤ ‹‹ሊገድሉት የሚፈልጉት ይህን ሰው አልነበረም? BSB BSB: Then some of the people of Jerusalem began to say, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
26 ULB ተመልከቱ፤ እንዲህ በግልጽ እየተናገረ ምንም አይሉትም፡፡ ገዦቹ እርሱ በትክክል ክርስቶስ መሆኑን ዐውቀው ይሆን? BSB BSB: Yet here He is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying anything to Him. Have the rulers truly recognized that this is the Christ?
27 ULB እኛ ግን ይህ ሰው ከየት እንደ መጣ እናውቃለን፤ ክርስቶስ ሲመጣ ግን ማንም ከየት እንደ መጣ አያውቅም፡፡›› BSB BSB: But we know where this man is from. When the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”
28 ULB ኢየሱስ በቤተ መቅደስ ሲያስተምር ድምፁን ከፍ አድርጎ እንዲህ አለ፤ ‹‹እኔን ታውቁኛላችሁ፤ ከየት እንደ መጣሁም ታውቃላችሁ፤ ሆኖም በራሴ አልመጣሁም፤ የላከኝ ግን እውነተኛ ነው፤ እርሱን ደግሞ እናንተ አታውቁትም፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, “You know Me, and you know where I am from. I have not come of My own accord, but He who sent Me is true. You do not know Him,
29 ULB እኔ ከእርሱ ዘንድ ስለ መጣሁ፣ ዐውቀዋለሁ፤ የላከኝም እርሱ ነው፡፡›› BSB BSB: but I know Him, because I am from Him and He sent Me.”
30 ULB እነርሱም በዚህ ጊዜ ሊይዙት ሞከሩ፤ ነገር ግን የነካው አንድም ሰው አልነበረም፤ ምክንያቱም የተወሰነለት ሰዓት ገና ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: So they tried to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
31 ULB ይሁን እንጂ፣ በሕዝቡ መካከል ብዙዎች በእርሱ አመኑ፡፡ ያመኑትም፣ ‹‹ክርስቶስ ሲመጣ ይህ ሰው ከሠራው ተአምር የሚበልጥ ሊሠራ ይችላልን?›› አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Many in the crowd, however, believed in Him and said, “When the Christ comes, will He perform more signs than this man?”
32 ULB ፈሪሳውያን ሕዝቡ ስለ ኢየሱስ በሹክሹክታ የሚያወሩትን ሰሙ፤ የካህናት አለቆችና ፈሪሳውያንም ሊያስይዙት የጥበቃ ሰዎችን ላኩበት፡፡ BSB BSB: When the Pharisees heard the crowd whispering these things about Jesus, they and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.
33 ULB ኢየሱስ፣ ‹‹ለጥቂት ጊዜ ከእናንተ ጋር ነኝ፤ ከዚያም ወደ ላከኝ እሄዳለሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: So Jesus said, “I am with you only a little while longer, and then I am going to the One who sent Me.
34 ULB ትፈልጉኛላችሁ፤ ግን አታገኙኝም፡፡ እናንተ ወደምሄድበት መምጣት አትችሉም›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: You will look for Me, but you will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
35 ULB ስለዚህ አይሁድ እርስ በርሳቸው እንዲህ ተባባሉ፤ ‹‹ይህ ሰው እንዳናገኘው ወዴት ሊሄድ ነው? ተበትነው በግሪክ ወዳሉት ሰዎች ሄዶ እነርሱን ሊያስተምር ይሆን? BSB BSB: At this, the Jews said to one another, “Where does He intend to go that we will not find Him? Will He go where the Jews are dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
36 ULB ‹ትፈልጉኛላችሁ፤ ግን አታገኙኝም፡፡ እናንተ እኔ ወደምሄድበት መምጣት አትችሉም› ያለውስ ቃል ምን ማለት ነው?›› BSB BSB: What does He mean by saying, ‘You will look for Me, but you will not find Me,’ and, ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”
37 ULB በታላቁ የበዓሉ ቀን፣ በመጨረሻው ቀን፣ ኢየሱስ ቆሞ ድምፁን ከፍ በማድረግ፣ ‹‹የተጠማ ማንም ቢኖር፣ ወደ እኔ መጥቶ ይጠጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
38 ULB ቅዱሳት መጻሕፍት እንደ ተናገሩት፣ በእኔ የሚያምን የሕይወት ውሃ ወንዝ ከውስጡ ይፈልቃል›› አለ፡፡ BSB BSB: Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”
39 ULB ይህን ያለው ግን በእርሱ የሚያምኑት ወደ ፊት ስለሚቀበሉት፣ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ነው፤ ኢየሱስ ገና ስላልከበረ፣ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ገና አልተሰጠም ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
40 ULB ከሕዝቡ አንዳንዶቹ ይህን ቃል ሲሰሙ፣ ‹‹ይህ በእርግጥ ነቢዩ ነው›› አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: On hearing these words, some of the people said, “This is truly the Prophet.”
41 ULB ሌሎቹ ደግሞ፣ ‹‹እርሱ ክርስቶስ ነው›› አሉ፡፡ አንዳንዶቹ ግን፣ ‹‹ክርስቶስ ከገሊላ እንዴት ይመጣል! BSB BSB: Others declared, “This is the Christ.” But still others asked, “How can the Christ come from Galilee?
42 ULB ቅዱሳት መጻሕፍት ክርስቶስ ከዳዊት ዘር፣ የዳዊት ከተማ ከሆነችው ከቤተ ልሔም እንደሚመጣ ተናግረው የለምን?›› አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Doesn’t the Scripture say that the Christ will come from the line of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”
43 ULB ስለዚህ እርሱን በተመለከተ በመካከለቸው መለያየት ተከሠተ፡፡ BSB BSB: So there was division in the crowd because of Jesus.
44 ULB ከእነርሱ አንዳንዶቹ ሊይዙት ፈልገው ነበር፤ ነገር ግን ማንም አልነካውም፡፡ BSB BSB: Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him.
45 ULB ከዚያም የጥበቃ ሰዎቹ ወደ ካህናት አለቆችና ወደ ፈሪሳውያን ተመልሰው መጡ፤ የላኳቸውም፣ ‹‹ለምንድን ነው ይዛችሁ ያላመጣችሁት?›› አሏቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Then the officers returned to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”
46 ULB የጥበቃ ሰዎቹ፣ ‹‹ከዚህ ቀደም እንደዚህ የተናገረ አልነበረም›› አሏቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: “Never has anyone spoken like this man!” the officers answered.
47 ULB ፈሪሳውያንም እንዲህ አሏቸው፤ ‹‹እናንተም ሳታችሁን? BSB BSB: “Have you also been deceived?” replied the Pharisees.
48 ULB ከገዦቹ ወይም ከፈሪሳውያን በእርሱ ያመነ አለ? BSB BSB: “Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?
49 ULB ነገር ግን ሕጉን የማያውቅ ይህ ሕዝብ የተረገመ ነው፡፡›› BSB BSB: But this crowd that does not know the law—they are under a curse.”
50 ULB ከፈሪሳውያን አንዱ፣ ከዚህ በፊት ወደ ኢየሱስ መጥቶ የነበረው ኒቆዲሞስ፣ BSB BSB: Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who himself was one of them, asked,
51 ULB ‹‹መጀመሪያ ከሰውየው ሳይሰማና የሚሠራውን ሳያውቅ፣ የእኛ ሕግ በሰው ላይ ይፈርዳልን?›› አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: “Does our law convict a man without first hearing from him to determine what he has done?”
52 ULB እነርሱ፣ ‹‹አንተም ደግሞ ከገሊላ ነህ ወይ? ነቢይ ከገሊላ እንደማይመጣ መርምረህ ዕወቅ›› አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: “Aren’t you also from Galilee?” they replied. “Look into it, and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
