1 ULB የክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ አገልጋዮች ከሆኑት ከጳውሎስና ከጢሞቲዎስ፤ በክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ ቅዱሳን ለሆኑ በፊልጵስዩስ ከተማ ከእረኞችና ከዲያቆናት ጋር ለሚኖሩ ሁሉ። BSB BSB: Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons:
2 ULB ከእግዚአብሔር ከአባታችን ከጌታችን ከኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጸጋና ስላም ለአናንተ ይሁን። BSB BSB: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 ULB ስለእናንተ በማስብበት ሁሉ እግዚአብሔርን አመሰግናለሁ። BSB BSB: I thank my God every time I remember you.
4 ULB ስለ ሁላችሁም በምጸልይበት ጊዜ ሁሉ በደስታ እጸልያለሁ። BSB BSB: In every prayer for all of you, I always pray with joy,
5 ULB ከመጀመሪያ ጀምሮ እስካሁን ወንጌል በሚሰበክበት ሥራ ስላሳያችሁት ትብብራችሁ እግዚአብሔርን አመሰግናለሁ። BSB BSB: because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,
7 ULB እናንተ በልቤ ስላላችሁ ስለ ሁላችሁ እንዲህ ማሰብ ይኖርብኛል። በእስራቴና ስለ ወንጌል በመቆሜ ስለእርሱም በመመስከሬ ሁላችሁም በጸጋ ተባባሪዎች ሆናችኋል። BSB BSB: It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart. For in my chains and in my defense and confirmation of the gospel, you are all partners in grace with me.
8 ULB በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ባለኝ ጥልቅ ፍቅር ሁላችሁንም እንድምናፍቃችሁ እግዚአብሔር ምስክሬ ነው። BSB BSB: God is my witness how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 ULB ፍቅራችሁ በዕውቀትና በሙሉ መረዳት የበለጠ እንዲበዘላችሁ እጸልያለሁ። BSB BSB: And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
10 ULB ይህን የምጸልይበት ምክንያት የተሻለውን ነገሮችን መርምራችሁ እንድታውቁ እንዲሁም ክርስቶስ ተመልሶ በሚመጣበት ቀን ንጹኃንና ነውር የሌለባችሁ ሆናችሁ እንድትገኙ ነው። BSB BSB: so that you may be able to test and prove what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
11 ULB ይህ ደግሞ ከኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በሚገኘው የጽድቅ ፍሬ ተሞልታችሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ክብርና ምስጋና እንዲሆን ነው። BSB BSB: filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
12 ULB ወንድሞች ሆይ፥በእኔ ላይ የደረሰው ሁሉ ወንጌል በጣም እንዲስፋፋ እንዳደረገ እንድታውቁ እወዳለሁ። BSB BSB: Now I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have actually served to advance the gospel.
13 ULB እኔም የታሰሁት በክርስቶስ ምክንያት መሆኑን የቤተ መንግሥት ጠበቂዎችና ሌሎችም እዚያ ያሉት ሰዎች ሁሉ እንዲያውቁ ሆኖአል። BSB BSB: As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ.
14 ULB በእኔ መታሰር ምክንያት በጌታ ወንድሞች ከሆኑት ብዙዎቹ የበለጠ ከቀድሞ ይልቅ የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል ያለ ፍርሃት ለመናገር ድፍረት አግኝተዋል። BSB BSB: And most of the brothers, confident in the Lord by my chains, now dare more greatly to speak the word without fear.
15 ULB በርግጥ አንዳንዶቹ የክርስቶስን ወንጌል የሚሰብኩት በቅናትና በፉክክር መንፈስ ነው፤ሌሎቹ ግን ክርስቶስን የሚሰብኩት በቅን ልቡና ነው። BSB BSB: It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.
16 ULB እነዚህ የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል በቅን ልቡና የሚሰብኩት ከፍቅር የተነሳ ነው፤እነርሱም እኔ ስለወንጌል ቆሜ በመከራከርይ መታሰሬን ያውቃሉ። BSB BSB: The latter do so in love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel.
17 ULB እነዚያ ግን ስለ ክርስቶስ የሚሰብኩት በራስ ወዳድነትና ቅንነት በሌለበት አስተሳሰብ ነው። በእስራቴም ላይ ተጨማሪ መከራ ሊያመጡብኝ አስበው ነው። BSB BSB: The former, however, preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can add to the distress of my chains.
18 ULB ታዲያ ምን ይደረግ? በርግጥ በዚህ ደስ ይለኛል፤በማስመሰል ወይም በእውነት በሁሉም መንገድ ክርስቶስ ይሰበካል። BSB BSB: What then is the issue? Just this: that in every way, whether by false motives or true, Christ is preached. And in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,
19 ULB ምክንያቱም በእናንተ ጸሎትና በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ መንፈስ ርዳታ ነጻ እንደምወጣ አውቃለሁ። BSB BSB: because I know that through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, my distress will turn out for my deliverance.
20 ULB እንደማላፍርበት በሙሉ መተማመ እጠባበቃለሁ። ነገር ግን ዘወትር እንደማደርገውና በተለይም ዛሬም በሕይወት ብኖር ወይም ብሞት ክርስቶስ በሰውነቴ ይከብራል ብዬ በድፍረት እናገራለሁ። BSB BSB: I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have complete boldness so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
21 ULB ስለዚህ ለእኔ ሕይወት ማለት በክርስቶስ መኖር ነው፤ ሞትም ማለት ማትፍረፍ ነው። BSB BSB: For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 ULB ነገር ግን በሥጋ መኖር ለእኔ የሥራ ፍሬ ቢሆን የትኛውን እንደምመርጥ አላውቅም። BSB BSB: But if I go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. So what shall I choose? I do not know.
23 ULB ምክንያቱም በእነዚህ በሁለቱ አሳቦች መካከል ተወጥሬአለሁ። በአንድ በኩል ከክርስቶስ ጋር መሆን ከሁሉ የሚበልጥ ነገር ስለሆነ ከዚህ ሕይወት ተለይቼ ከክርስቶስ ጋር መሆንን እፈልጋለሁ። BSB BSB: I am torn between the two. I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better indeed.
24 ULB ሆኖም በሥጋ መኖሬ ለእናንተ የበለጠ አስፈላጊ ነው። BSB BSB: But it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
25 ULB እምነታችሁ እንዲያድግና ደስታን እንድታገኙ እንደምቆይና ከሁላችሁም ጋር እንደምቀጥል ስለዚህ ነገር እተማመናሉ። BSB BSB: Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
26 ULB በዚህ ምክንያት እኔም እንደገና ወደ እናንተ ስመጣት ስለ ክርስቶስ ኢየሱስ በእኔ ትመካላችሁ። BSB BSB: so that through my coming to you again your exultation in Christ Jesus will resound on account of me.
27 ULB እንግዲህ ከሁሉም በላይ ሕይወታችሁ ለክርስቶስ ወንጌል እንደሚገባ ይሁን፤ ይህም እኔ መጥቼ ባያችሁ ወይም ከእናንተ ብርቅ በአንድ መንፈስ ጸንታችሁ መቆማችሁንና ለወንጌልም እምነት በኅብረት መጋደላችሁን እሰማ ዘንድ ነው። BSB BSB: Nevertheless, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending together as one for the faith of the gospel,
28 ULB ተቃዋሚዎቻችሁንም በምንም ነገር አትፍሩአቸው፤ ይህም ለእነርሱ የመጥፋታቸው ምልክት ሲሆን፤ ለእናንተ ግን ከእግዚአብሔር ዘንድ የሆነ የመዳናችሁ ምልክት ነው። BSB BSB: without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a clear sign of their destruction but of your salvation, and it is from God.
29 ULB ምክንያቱም ከክርስቶስ የተነሳ ይህ የተሰጣችሁ አገልግሎት በእርሱ እንድታምኑ ብቻ ሳይሆን በእርሱ ምክንያት መከራ እንድትቅበሉም ጭምር ነው። BSB BSB: For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him,
30 ULB ስለዚህ አሁን ከእኔ ጋር የመከራ ተካፋዮች ሆናችኋል፤ ይህም መከራ ከዚህ በፊት ደርሶብኝ ያያችሁትና አሁንም እየደረሰብኝ መሆኑን የሰማችሁት ነው። BSB BSB: since you are encountering the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.
