1 ULB በክርስቶስ መበረታታት ካላችሁ፤ከፍቅሩም መጽናናት ካላችሁ፤የመንፈስም ኅብረት ካላችሁ፤እርስ በእርሳችሁም ደግነትና ርኅራኄ ካላችሁ። BSB BSB: Therefore if you have any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,
2 ULB ስለዚህ በአንድ አሳብ፤ በፍቅር፤ በመንፈስ አንድነት፤በአንድ ዓላማ እየተስማማችሁ ደስታዬ እንዲፈጸም አድርጉት። BSB BSB: then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose.
3 ULB በራስ ወዳድነት ወይም በከንቱ ትምክህት ምንም አታድርጉ፤ነገር ግን በዚህ ፈንታ ሌሎች ሰዎች ከእናንተ እንደሚሻሉ በትህትና ቁጠሩ። BSB BSB: Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves.
4 ULB እንዲሁም እያንዳንዳእሁ የራሳችሁን ጥቅም ብቻ ሳይሆን የሌላውንም ሰው ጥቅም አስቡ። BSB BSB: Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
6 ULB እርሱም የመለኮት ባሕር ነበረው፥ ነገር ግን ራሱን ከእግዚአብሔር ጋር እኩል የሚያደርጋውን የመለኮት ባሕይ እንደ ያዘ አልቆጠረም። ክብሩን ትቶ ራሱን ባዶ አደረገ። BSB BSB: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7 ULB የባሪያንም መልክ ያዘ፤ በሰው አምሳል ተገለጠ፤ እንደ ሰውም ሆኖ በትህትና ራሱን ዝቅ አደረገ። BSB BSB: but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8 ULB እንዲሁም እስከ ሞት፤ያውም እስከ መስቀል ሞት ድረስ ታዛዥ ሆነ። BSB BSB: And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross.
11 ULB አንደበትም ሁሉ ለእግዚአብሔር አብ ክብር እንዲሆን፤ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጌታ ነው ብሎ እንዲመሰክር ነው። BSB BSB: and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 ULB ስለዚህ ወዳጆቼ ሆይ፤ እኔ ከእናንተ ጋር በነበርኩበት ጊዜ ሁሉ እንደምትታዘዙ፥ይልቁንም አሁን ከእናንተ በራቅሁበት ጊዜ ይበልጥ ታዛዦች እንድትሆኑ ነው። BSB BSB: Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
13 ULB በፍርሃትና በመንቀጥቅቀጥም መዳናችሁን ሥሩ። ምክንያቱም ለመልካምነቱ መፍቃዱንና ማድረግን በእናንተ የሚሠራ እግዚአብሔር ነው። BSB BSB: For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose.
14 ULB ማናቸውንም ነገር ሳታጉረምግሙና ሳትከራከሩ አድርጉ። BSB BSB: Do everything without complaining or arguing,
15 ULB ይህን በማድረግ ነውርና ነቀፋ የሌለባችሁ ታማኝ የአግዚአብሔር ልጆች ትሆናላችሁ። በዚህ በጠማናና በመጥፎ ትውልድ መካከል በዚህ ዓለም እንደ ደማቅ ብርሃን ታበራላችሁ። BSB BSB: so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world
16 ULB ሕይወት የሚገኝበትን ቃል አጥብቃችሁ በምትይዙበት ጊዜ በከንቱ እንዳልሮጥሁና በከንቱም እንዳልደከምሁ ክርስቶስ በሚመለስበት ቀን ለማክበር ምክንያት ሊኖረኝ ይችላል። BSB BSB: as you hold forth the word of life, in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
17 ULB ነገር ግን ለእግዚአብሔር በእምነት በምታቀርቡት መሥዋዕትና አገልግሎት ላይ የእኔም ሕይወት እንደ መሥዋዕት ሆኖ ቢቀርብ እንኳ ደስ ይለኛል። ከሁላችሁ ጋር ታላቅ ደስታ እደሰታለሁ። BSB BSB: But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
18 ULB እንዲሁም በተመሳሳይ ሁኔታ እናንተም ከእኔ ጋር ደስተኞች ትሆናላችሁ። BSB BSB: So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
19 ULB ነገር ግን እናንተ እንዴት እየሠራችሁ እንዳላችሁ ሰምቼ እንድጽናና ጢሞቲዎስን ወደ እናንተ ፈጥኜ እንደምልክ በጌታ በኢየሱስ ተስፋ አደርጋለሁ። BSB BSB: Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I learn how you are doing.
20 ULB ስለ እናንተ ሁኔታ ከልብ የሚያስብ ከጢሞቲዎስ በስተቀር ሌላ ሰው የለኝም። BSB BSB: I have nobody else like him who will genuinely care for your needs.
21 ULB ሌሎቹ ግን የራሳቸውን ጥቅም ብቻ ስለሚፈልጉ ስለ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ሥራ ግድ የላቸውም። BSB BSB: For all the others look after their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.
22 ULB ነገር ግን ጢሞቲዎስ ልጅ አባቱን እንደሚያገለግል ከእኔ ጋር ወንጌልን በማሠራጨት እንዳገለገለና ስለታማኝነቱም የተመሰከረለት መሆኑን እናንተም ታውቃላችሁ። BSB BSB: But you know Timothy’s proven worth, that as a child with his father he has served with me to advance the gospel.
23 ULB ስለዚህ የእኔን ሁኔታ እንዳወቅሁ በፍጥነት ጢሞቲዎስን ወደ እናንተ እንደምልክላችሁ ተስፋ አደርጋለሁ። BSB BSB: So I hope to send him as soon as I see what happens with me.
24 ULB እንዲያውም እኔ ራሴ በቶሎ ወደ እናንተ እንደምመምጣት በጌታ እተማመናለሁ። BSB BSB: And I trust in the Lord that I myself will come soon.
25 ULB ነገር ግን ኤጳፍሮዲቱስን መልሼ ወደ እናንተ መላክ አስፈላጊ ሆኖ አግኝቼዋለሁ። እርሱ እኔን በሚያስፈልገኝ ሁሉ እንዲረዳኝ ልካችሁት የነበረውን ወንድሜና ከእኔ ጋር የተሰለፈ ወታደርና የሥራ ባልደረባዬ ነው። BSB BSB: But I thought it necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger and minister to my needs.
26 ULB እርሱን ወደ እናንተ የምልከውም ሁላችሁንም ለማየት በመናፈቁና እናንተም መታመሙን በመስማታችሁ ስለ ተጨነቀ ነው። በእርግጥ በጠና ታሞ ለሞት ተቃርቦ ነበር፤ ነገር ግን እግዚአብሔር ምሕረት አደረገለት። BSB BSB: For he has been longing for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill.
27 ULB ከሕመሙ መዳኑ ለእርሱ ብቻ ሳይሆን ሐዘን በሐዘን ላይ እንዳይደረርብኝ ለእኔም ጭምር ነው። BSB BSB: He was sick indeed, nearly unto death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow.
28 ULB ስለዚህ እናንተ እርሱን በማየት እንድትደሰቱና የእኔም ሐዘን እንዲቃለል እርሱን ወደ እናንተ ለመላክ ከፍተኛ ፍላጎት አድሮብኛል። BSB BSB: Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less anxious.
29 ULB እንግዲህ ኤጳፍሮዲቱስን በሙሉ ደስታ በጌታ ተቀበሉት። እንደ እርሱ ያሉትን ሰዎች አክብሩአቸው። BSB BSB: Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor men like him,
30 ULB በቅርብ ተገኝታችሁ ልታደርጉልኝ ያልቻላችሁትን በእናንተ ቦታ ሆኖ ሲያገለግለኝና የሚያስፈልገኝን ለማሟላት ስለ ክርስቶስ ሥራ በማለት ለሕይወቱ ሳይሳሳ በማድረግ ለሞት ተቃርቦ ነበር። BSB BSB: because he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to make up for your deficit of service to me.
