16Nami isatti dhugeeffatu maraa jiruu bara baraa akka qabaatu malee akka hin banneef, Waaqi biyya lafaa guddoo waan jaalatuuf Ilma ifii tokkochuma san kenne.For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

18«Ka Ilma isaatitti dhugeeffatutti hin murantu; ka isatti hin dhugeeffanne ammoo, waan inni Ilma Waaqaa tokkochatti hin dhugeeffatiniif, ammumaayyuu itti muranteerti.Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

21Ka waan dhuga'aa godhu marti ammoo hujiin inni Waaqaaf ajajamiisaan huje san akka ifi mudhisuuf gara ifaa dhufa» jedheen.But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”

22Kanaan duuba Yesuusii fi barattooti isaa gara lafa Yihuda'aa dhaqane; inni isaan woliin diqqoo achi bubbulee, kolbaalle cuuphe.After this, Jesus and His disciples went into the Judean countryside, where He spent some time with them and baptized.

31«Ka ol-gubba'aa dhufu mara caala. Ka lafa tanaa kama lafa tanaa ti; waan lafaalle dubbata; ka ol-gubba'aa dhufu ammoo mara caala.The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The One who comes from heaven is above all.

32Inni waan dhaggee fi waan dhage'e dhugaa baya; ammoo dhugaa baya isaa ka fudhatu hin jiru.He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.

33Nami dhugaa baya isaa fudhate ammoo, Waaqi dhugaammessa akka te'e kanaan mirkaneesse.Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful.

34Waaqi Ayyaana ifii safara male waan kennuuf, ka Waaqi erge dubbii Waaqaa dubbata.For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

35Abbaan Ilma jaalata; waan maralle harka isaatitti kenneera.The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in His hands.

36Ka Ilmatti dhugeeffatu mara jiruu bara baraa qaba; ka Ilma Waaqaatiif hin ajajanne ammoo mufii Waaqaa jala jiraata malee, jiruu hin qabaatu» jedhe.Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”
