1ኢሲ ጋላስ ዬሱሲ ኢሲሶን ዎሲዴስ፤ ኢዚ ዎሳ ዉርሲሺን ኢዛ ካሊዛይታፔ ኢሶይ፥ «ጎዶ! ጻማቂዛ ዮሃኒሲ ባና ካሊዛይታ ዎሳ ታማርሲዳይሳꬆ ኔካ ኑና ዎሳ ታማርሳ!» ጊዴስ።One day in a place where Jesus had just finished praying, one of His disciples requested, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

2ኢዚካ ኢስታስ፥ «ዎሲሼ፥ ‹ኑ ኣዋዉ! ኔ ሱንꬂ ኣንጄቶ፤ ኔ ካዎቴꬂ ሃ ዮ።So Jesus told them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.

3ሃቺስ ጊዲዛ ቁማ ኑስ ኢማ።Give us each day our daily bread.

4ኑና ቆሂዳይታ ኑ ማሪዛ ማላ ኑና ማራ፤ ፓጬንካ ኑና ጌልꬆፋ› ጊ ዎሲቴ» ጊዴስ።And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’”

5ቃሴካ፥ «ኢንቴፌ ኢሳዴስ ላጌይ ዲኮ ሌላ ጊዶꬅ ሄ ላጌዛሶ ቢዲ፥ ‹ታስ ኢሲ ኢማꬂ ኦጌፔ ዪን ሚዛና ካꬂ ባይንዳ ጊሻስ ሄꬑ ሶሎይ ዲኮ ታስ ታልኣርኪ?›Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose one of you goes to his friend at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

7ላጌዚካ ዛሪዲ፥ ‹ታና ዋዪሶፓ፤ ካሬይካ ጎርዴቲዴስ፤ ታኒካ ናይታራ ኢቻዲስ። ሃኢ ዴንዳዳ ኢማናስ ዳንዳይኬ› ጋንዴ?And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Do not bother me. My door is already shut, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’

8ታኒካ ኢንቴስ ዮታይስ፤ ላጌቴꬃ ጊሻስ ዴንዲዲ ኢሞንታ ኣጊኮካ ኢዚ ኦይሾን ሳሌꬂዳ ጊሻስ ዴንዲዲ ኮይዛይሳ ኡባ ኢሚዴስ።I tell you, even though he will not get up to provide for him because of his friendship, yet because of the man’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

9«ሄሳ ጊሻስ ታኒ ኢንቴስ ጊዛይ ዎሲቴ ኢንቴስ ኢሜታና፤ ኮዪቴ ኢንቴ ዴማና፤ ካሬ ቆጺቴ ኢንቴስ ዶዬታና።So I tell you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

10ኣይስ ጊኮ ዎሲዛይ ዉሪ ኤካና፤ ኮይዛይካ ዴማና፤ ካሬ ቆጺዛዴስካ ዶዬታና።For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

11«ኢንቴፌ ኣዋ ጊዲ ኡቲዲ ኢዚ ዬሊዳ ናይ ሞሌ ኦይቺኮ ሾሽ ኢሚዛይ ዳንዴ?What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?

12ዎይኮ ጱጱሌ ኦይቺኮ ማሲማሶ ኢሚዛይ ዳንዴ?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

13ኢንቴ ኢታታ ጊዲሼ ኢንቴ ናይታስ ሎኦ ኢሞታ ኢሞ ኤሪኮ ሳሎን ዲዛ ኢንቴ ኣዋይ ባና ዎሲዛይታስ ጺሎ ኣያና ዎስቲ ዳርሲ ኢሜኔ?» ጊዴስ።So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

14ኢሲ ጋላስ ዬሱሲ ሃሳይሶንታ ዱዴ ዳይዳንꬅ ኬሲዴስ። ዳይዳንꬃዚካ ኬዚዳፔ ጉዬ ዶና ዱዴ ኣዴዚ ሃሳይዴስ፤ ቤኢዳ ኣሳቲካ ዳርሲ ማላሌቲዳ።One day Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. And when the demon was gone, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed,

15ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢሲ ኢሲ ኣሳቲ፥ «ቢኤሊዜቡላ ጌቴቲዛ ዳይዳንꬃታ ሃላቃን ዳይዳንꬃታ ኬሴስ» ጊዳ።but some of them said, “It is by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons, that He drives out demons.”

16ኢሲ ኢሲ ኣሳይ ኢዛ ፓጫናስ፥ «ሳሎፔ ማላታ ቤሳ» ጊዲ ኦይቺዴስ።And others tested Him by demanding a sign from heaven.

17ጊዶ ኣቲን ዬሱሲ ኢስታ ቆፋ ኤሪዲ፥ «ባ ጊዶን ሻኬቲዛ ካዎቴꬂ ዉሪ ꬋያና፤ ባ ጊዶን ሲጋይ ባይንዳ ኬꬂካ ኩንዳና።Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste, and a house divided against a house will fall.

18ኢንቴ ታና፥ ‹ቢኤሊዜቡላን ዳይዳንꬃታ ኬሴስ› ጊዲ ሃሳዬታ ሺን ጻላኤይካ ባ ጊዶን ኢሶይ ኢሳፌ ሻኬቲኮ ኢዛ ካዎቴꬂ ዋኒ ሚናኔ?If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? After all, you say that I drive out demons by Beelzebul.

19ሂስቲኮ ታኒ ዳይዳንꬃታ ቢኤሊዜቡላን ኬሲኮ ኢንቴ ናይቲ ኦናን ኬሳንዴቶ? ሄሳ ጊሻስ ኢንቴ ናይቲ ኢንቴ ቦላ ፒርዲዛይታ ጊዳና።And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.

20ጊዶ ኣቲን ታኒ ዳይዳንꬃታ ኬሲዛይ ጾሳ ዎልቃን ጋኪዴስ፤ ጾሳ ካዎቴꬃይ ኢንቴኮ ማቲዳሮ ኤሪቴ።But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

21«ሚኖ ኣሲ ሎኤꬂ ጊጼቲዲ ባ ኬꬄ ናጊኮ ኬꬃን ዲዛ ሚሺ ሎኦን ናጌቴስ።When a strong man, fully armed, guards his house, his possessions are secure.

22ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዛፔ ሃራ ሚኖ ኣሲ ዪዲ ጾኒኮ ኢዚ ኣማኔቲዳ ኦላ ሚሻታ ዎꬂ ኤኪዲ ኢዛስ ዲዛ ሃሮዛካ ዉርሲ ሃራስ ጊሻና።But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted, and then he divides up his plunder.

23«ታናራ ጊዶንታይ ታናራ ኤቄቴስ፤ ታናራካ ሺሾንታዴይ ላሌስ፥He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

24«ቱና ኣያናይ ኣሳፔ ኬዚዳ ዎዴ ሼምፖሶ ኮዪሼ ሃꬂ ባይንዳ ሜላሶን ዋዬቴስ፤ ሼምፖሶይ ꬋይኮ፥ ‹ታኒ ካሴ ኬዚዳሶ ጉዬ ሲማና› ጌስ።When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’

25ኢዛፔ ሲሚዲ ዪሺን ካሴ ኢዚ ኣጊ ቢዳ ኬꬃይ ፒቴቲዲኔ ጊጊ ኡቲዳይሳ ዴሜስ።On its return, it finds the house swept clean and put in order.

26ሄሳፌ ሲሚ ቢዲ ባፔ ኢቲዛ ሃራ ላፑን ዳይዳንꬃታ ባናራ ኤኪዲ ዬስ፤ ኢስቲካ ጌሊዲ ሄን ዳና፤ ሄሳዴስካ ኮይሮይሳፌ ጉዬይሲ ኬሂ ኢታ ጊዳና» ጊዴስ።Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and dwell there. And the final plight of that man is worse than the first.”

27ዬሱሲ ሄሳ ሃሳይዛ ዎዴ ኣሳ ጊዶፌ ኢሲ ማጫስ ዲዛራ ባ ቃላ ꬎቁ ኦꬃዳ፥ «ኔና ቶኪዳ ቃንꬂኔ ኔ ꬋሚዳ ꬋንꬃቲ ኣንጄቲዳይታ» ጋዱስ።As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that nursed You!”

28ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚ፥ «ኣንጄቲዳይቲ ጾሳ ቃላ ሲዪዲ ኣዛዜቲዛይታ» ጊዴስ።But He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

29ዳሮ ዴሬይ ዬሱሳኮ ሺቂዳ ዎዴ ዬሱሲ፥ «ሃይሲ ዬሌታይ ኢታ ዬሌታ፤ ጊታ ማላታ ቤያናስ ኮዬስ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ዮናሳ ማላታፔ ሃራ ዱማ ማላታይ ኢሜቴና።As the crowds were increasing, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It demands a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.

30ጋሶይካ ዮናሲ ናናዌ ኣሳስ ማላታ ጊዲዳ ማላ ኣሳ ናይ ታኒ ሃ ዬሌታስ ማላታ ጊዳና።For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so the Son of Man will be a sign to this generation.

31ዱጌሃ ዴሬ ማጫ ካዎያ ሶሎሞኔ ኤራቴꬅ ቤያናስ ቢታ ጋጻፔ ዴንዳዳ ዪዳ ጊሻስ ፒርዳ ዎዴ ኢዛ ሃ ዬሌታራ ዴንዳዳ ፒርዳና፤ ሄኮ ሶሎሞኔፔ ኣꬊዛዴይ ሃን ዴስ።The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and now One greater than Solomon is here.

32ዮናሲ ሳባኪሺን ሲዪዲ ናናዌ ኣሳይ ባ ናጋራፔ ማሬቲዳ ጊሻስ ሃ ዬሌታራ ኢሲፌ ዴንዲዲ ፒርዳና፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ዮናሳፔ ኣꬊዛይ ሃን ዴስ።The men of Nineveh will stand at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now One greater than Jonah is here.

33«ጾምፔ ኦይꬂዲ ካሬፔ ጌሊዛ ኣሳስ ፖኣና ማላ ቆንጬሶን ዎꬄቴስ ኣቲን ጌማሶን ዎꬂዛ ኣሲ ዴና።No one lights a lamp and puts it in a cellar or under a basket. Instead, he sets it on a stand, so those who enter can see the light.

34ኔ ኣሳቴꬃስ ፖኦይ ኔ ኣይፌ፤ ኔ ኣይፌይ ፓጻ ጊዲኮ ኔ ኩሜꬃ ኣሳቴꬃይካ ፖኦ ጊዳና፤ ኔ ኣይፌይ ሳኬቲኮ ኔ ኩሜꬃ ኣሳቴꬃይ ꬉማ ጊዳና።Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body is full of darkness.

35ሄሳ ጊሻስ ኔናን ዲዛ ፖኦይ ꬉሞንታ ማላ ናጌታ።Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness.

36ሂስቲኮ ኔ ኣሳቴꬃይ ፖኦ ጊዲኮ ꬉሚዳ ኣሳቴꬂ ዴና ኣጊኮ ኔ ኩሜꬃ ኣሳቴꬃይ ጾምፔይ ሎኤꬂ ፖኢዛ ማላ ሎኢ ቤታና» ጊዴስ።So if your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, you will be radiant, as though a lamp were shining on you.”

37ዬሱሲ ሃሳያ ዉርሲዳ ማላ ኢሲ ፋርሳዌይ ባናራ ቁማ ማናስ ዬሱሳ ጼይጊዴስ።As Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee invited Him to dine with him; so He went in and reclined at the table.

38ዬሱሲ ቁማ ማና ኩሼ ሜጬቶንታ ኣጊዳይሳ ቤኢዲ ማላሌቲዳ።But the Pharisee was surprised to see that Jesus did not first wash before the meal.

39ጎዳይ ኢዛስ፥ «ሃኢ ኢንቴ ፋርሳዌቲ ጹኣሲኔ ኬሬስ ቦላ ባጋ ሜጪ ጌሼታ፤ ኢንቴስ ጊዶ ባጋዚ ኡዜቴꬃኒኔ ኢታቴꬃን ኩሚዴስ።Then the Lord said, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.

40ኢንቴኖ ኤያቶ! ካሬ ባጋ ሜꬊዳይ ጊዶ ባጋ ሜꬊቤኔ?You fools! Did not the One who made the outside make the inside as well?

41ዮኦን ጊዲኮ ጊዶን ዲዛይሳ ሙጹዋታ ኢሚቴ፤ ሄ ዎዴ ዉሪካ ኢንቴስ ጌሽ ጊዳና።But give as alms the things that are within you, and behold, everything will be clean for you.

42«ኢንቴኖ ፋርሳዌቶ! ኢንቴስ ኣዬ ኣና! ኣኑጋፔኔ ጻሎታፔ ቃሴካ ዱማ ዱማ ካꬃፌ ታማፌ ኢሲኖ ኬሴታ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ቱሙ ፒርዳኔ ጾስ ዶሳናይሳ ኣጊ ኣꬌታ፤ ጊዲኮካ ኢንቴ ኣጊ ኣꬋናስ ቤሴና፤ ሃንኮይሳ ኣጎንታ ኢንቴ ኦꬃና ቤሲዛይቲካ ሃይታ።Woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint, rue, and every herb, but you disregard justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without neglecting the former.

43«ኢንቴኖ ፋርሳዌቶ! ኢንቴስ ኣዬ ኣና! ኣይሁዳ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ኡታናስ ቦንቾ ኦይዴ ኮዬታ፤ ጊያ ጊዶንካ ኣሳይ ኢንቴ ሲንꬃን ሆካና ማላ ዶሴታ።Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.

44ኣሲ ኤሮንታ ኢዛ ቦላራ ቢዛ ቆቴቲ ዲዛ ዱፎ ኢንቴ ሚሳቲዛ ጊሻስ ኢንቴስ ኣዬ ኣና!» ጊዴስ።Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, which men walk over without even noticing.”

45ሙሴ ዎጋ ኤሪዛይታፔ ኢሶይ ዛሪዲ፥ «ኣስታማሬ! ኔ ሄሳꬆ ሃሳይዛ ዎዴ ኑናካ ጫያሳ» ጊዴስ።One of the experts in the law told Him, “Teacher, when You say these things, You insult us as well.”

46ዬሱሲካ ዛሪዲ፥ «ኢንቴኖ ሙሴ ዎጋ ኤሪዛይቶ ኢንቴስካ ኣዬ ኣና! ኣሲ ቶካናስ ዳንዳዮንታ ዴጾ ቶሆ ኣስ ቶሴታ፤ ኢንቴ ጊዲኮ ቢራꬌ ጼራንካ ቦቼኬታ።“Woe to you as well, experts in the law!” He replied. “For you weigh men down with heavy burdens, but you yourselves will not lift a finger to lighten their load.

47«ኢንቴ ኣዋቲ ዎꬊዳ ናቤታ ዱፎ ኢንቴ ሎኤꬂዛ ጊሻስ ኢንቴስ ኣዬ ኣና።Woe to you! For you build tombs for the prophets, but it was your fathers who killed them.

48ሂስቲኮ ኢንቴ ኢንቴ ኣዋታ ኦሶ ሚንꬂዛ ማርካታ፤ ኢስቲ ናቤታ ዎꬊዳ፤ ኢንቴካ ኢስታ ዱፎ ሎኤꬄታ።So you are witnesses consenting to the deeds of your fathers: They killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.

49«ሄሳ ጊሻስ ጾሳ ኤራቴꬂ፥ ‹ናቤታኔ ሃዋሬታ ታ ኢስታስ ዬዳና፤ ኢስቲካ ኢስታፌ ኢሳ ኢሳ ዎꬋና፤ ሃራታካ ጎዳና።Because of this, the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles; some of them they will kill and others they will persecute.’

50ሄሳ ጊሻስ ሃ ዬሌታይ ቢታይ ሜꬌቶሶፌ ሃኢ ጋካናስ ጉኪዳ ናቤታ ኡባ ሱꬃ ጊሻስ ኦይሼታና።As a result, this generation will be charged with the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the foundation of the world,

51ኣቤሌ ሱꬃፌ ዶሚዲ ያርሺዛሶፔኔ ጾሳ ኬꬃ ጊዶን ጉኪዳ ዛካራሳ ሱꬃ ጋካናስ ኮዬቴስ› ጋዱስ። ኤ ታ ኢንቴስ ጊዛይ ሃ ዬሌታይ ሃይሳስ ኦይሼታና።from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, all of it will be charged to this generation.

52«ኢንቴኖ ዎጋ ኤሪዛይቶ! ኢንቴስ ኣዬ ኣና! ኤራቴꬃ ፔንጌ ቁልፔ ዎልቃራ ዎꬂ ኤኪዲ ኢንቴስካ ጌሊቤኬታ፤ ጌላናይታካ ዲጌታ» ጊዴስ።Woe to you experts in the law! For you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

53ዬሱሲ ሄፔ ኬዚዳፔ ጉዬ ጻፌቲኔ ፋርሳዌቲ ኤቄቲሼ ኦይሻን ሼምፖ ዲጊዳ።As Jesus went on from there, the scribes and Pharisees began to oppose Him bitterly and to ply Him with questions about many things,

54ኢዛ ዶናፔ ኬዚዛ ቃላን ኢዛ ቃጻናስ ናጌቲዳ።waiting to catch Him in something He might say.
