1. 1GMVEኢሲ ጋላስ ቃራጻ ሺሺዛይቲኔ ናጋራንቻቲ ዉሪ ዬሱሳፔ ሲያናስ ኢዛ ኣቺ ሺቂዳ።BSBBSB: Now all the tax collectors and sinners were gathering around to listen to Jesus.
2. 2GMVEፋርሳዌቲኔ ጻፌቲ፥ «ሃይሲ ኣዴዚ ናጋራንቻታ ኢጼና፤ ኢስታራካ ሜስ» ጊዲ ባ ጊዶን ዙዙሜቲዳ።BSBBSB: So the Pharisees and scribes began to grumble: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
3. 3GMVEዬሱሲካ ኢስታስ ሌሚሶ ሂዝጊ ዮቲዴስ፤BSBBSB: Then Jesus told them this parable:
4. 4GMVE«ኢንቴ ጊዶፌ ኢሳዴስ ጼቱ ዶርሲ ዲኮ ሄ ጼቱ ዶርሳታፔ ኢሲና ꬋይኮ ኣቲዳ ኡዱፉን ታማኔ ኡዱፉናታ ዴምባን ዬጊዲ ꬋይዳይሳ ዴማና ጋካናስ ኮያና ቦንታይ ኦኔ?BSBBSB: “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
5. 5GMVEዴሚዲ ኡፋይሳራ ሃሼን ቶኪ ኤኪዲ፥BSBBSB: And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders,
6. 6GMVEባሶ ሲሜስ፤ ባ ላጌታኔ ጉታ ኣሳታ ኢሲ ቦላ ጼይጊዲ፥ ‹ꬋይዳ ታ ዶርሳዮ ዴማዲስ፤ ታናራ ኢሲፌ ኡፋዬቲቴ› ጋና።BSBBSB: comes home, and calls together his friends and neighbors to tell them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep!’
7. 7GMVEታ ኢንቴስ ዮታይስ፥ ‹ሄሳꬆካ ማሮቴꬅ ኮሾንታ ኡዱፉን ታማኔ ኡዱፉን ጺሎታፔ ማሬቴꬃን ጌሊዛ ኢሲ ናጋራንቻን ሳሎን ኡፋይስ ጊዳና።›BSBBSB: I tell you that in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent.
8. 8GMVE«ዎይኮ ኢሲ ታሙ ቢራ ሳንቴይ ዲዛ ማጫሳያ ሄ ታማፌ ኢሲኔያ ꬋይኮ ጾምፔ ኦይꬃዳ ዴማና ጋካናስ ኬꬃ ጋርስ ፒታዳ ሎኤꬃ ኮዮንታ ማጫሲ ኦኔ?BSBBSB: Or what woman who has ten silver coins and loses one of them does not light a lamp, sweep her house, and search carefully until she finds it?
9. 9GMVEኢዛካ ዴሚዳ ዎዴ ባ ላጌታኔ ባ ጉታታ ኢሲፌ ጼይጋዳ፥ ‹ታፔ ꬋይዳ ቢራ ሳንቲዮ ዴሚዳ ጊሻስ ታናራ ኢሲፌ ኡፋዬቲቴ› ጋንዱስ።BSBBSB: And when she finds it, she calls together her friends and neighbors to say, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin.’
10. 10GMVEታ ኢንቴስ ዮታይስ፤ ‹ሄሳꬆካ ማሮታን ጌሊዛ ኢሲ ናጋራንቻ ኣሳን ጾሳ ኪታንቻታ ኣቻን ኡፋይስ ጊዳና።›BSBBSB: In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”
11. 11GMVE«ኢሳዴስ ናምኡ ናይቲ ዴቴስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus said, “There was a man who had two sons.
12. 12GMVEኢስታፌካ ካሎ ናዚ ባ ኣዋ፥ ‹ኣቦ! ኔስ ዲዛ ሚሻፌ ታ ጊሻ ታስ ኢማ› ጊዴስ። ኣዋይካ ባስ ዲዛ ሚሻ ባ ናይታስ ጊሺዴስ።BSBBSB: The younger son said to him, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.
13. 13GMVE«ዳሮ ዎዴ ጋምኦንታ ዲሼ ካሎ ናዚ ባ ሚሻ ኡባ ሺሺ ኤኪዲ ሃሆ ቢታ ቢዴስ፤ ሄንካ ባስ ዲዛ ሚሻ ጎኣይ ባይንዳ ጮ ሜላ ꬋይሲዴስ።BSBBSB: After a few days, the younger son got everything together and journeyed to a distant country, where he squandered his wealth in wild living.
14. 14GMVEኢዚካ ባስ ዲዛይሳ ኡባ ꬋይሲዳፔ ጉዬ ሄ ቢታን ኢታ ኮሻይ ዴንዲን ዳሮ ዋዬቲዴስ።BSBBSB: After he had spent all he had, a severe famine swept through that country, and he began to be in need.
15. 15GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ሄ ዴሬን ዲዛ ኣሳፔ ኢሳዴኮ ሺቂዴስ፤ ኢዛዴይካ ባ ጉዱንꬅ ሄማና ማላ ጉዱንꬅ ሄሚዛሶሆ ዬዲዴስ።BSBBSB: So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed the pigs.
16. 16GMVEናዚካ ጉዱንꬃቲ ሚዛ ሃርቆዛፔ ማናስ ኣሞቲዴስ ሺን ሄሳካ ኢሚዛዴይ ቤቲቤና።BSBBSB: He longed to fill his belly with the pods the pigs were eating, but no one would give him a thing.
17. 17GMVE«ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዛ ዎዚናይ ሲሚዳ ዎዴ፥ ‹ታ ኣዋ ኣሽካራታ ኣፑናታፔ ካꬂ ፓላሂዜ ሺን ታኒ ሃይሳን ጋፋን ሃይቃና ማታዲና?BSBBSB: Finally he came to his senses and said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have plenty of food, but here I am, starving to death!
18. 18GMVEዴንዳዳ ታ ኣዋ ሶ ባዳ ኣቦ! ሳሎን ጾሳ፥ ሳኣን ታ ኔና ቆሃዲስ።›BSBBSB: I will get up and go back to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
19. 19GMVEሃይሳፌ ጉዬ፥ ‹ታኒ ኔ ና ጌቴታዳ ጼይጌታናስ ታስ ቤሴና፤ ኔ ኣሽካራታፔ ኢሳ ማላ ታና ቆዳ› ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’
20. 20GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ዴንዲዲ ባ ኣዋኮ ቢዴስ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ቡሮ ኢዚ ሃሆራ ዪሺን ኣዋይ ቤዪ ሚሼቲዲኔ ኢዛኮ ዎጺ ቢዲ ኢዲሚ ኦይኪዲ ዬሪዴስ።BSBBSB: So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still in the distance, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.
21. 21GMVE«ናዚካ፥ ‹ኣቦ! ሳሎን ጾሳ፥ ሳኣን ታ ኔና ቆሃዲስ፤ ሃይሳፌ ጉዬ ታ ኔ ና ጌቴታዳ ጼይጌታናስ ታስ ቤሴና› ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: The son declared, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22. 22GMVE«ጊዶ ኣቲን ኣዋይ ኣሽካራታስ፥ ‹ኤሶቲዲ ኡባፌ ዶሬቲዳ ማይኦ ኤሂዲ ማይዚቴ፤ ኢዛ ቢራꬌን ሚጊዶ፥ ኢዛ ቶሆንካ ጫማ ኣꬂቴ።BSBBSB: But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
23. 23GMVEሞꬎ ሚርጎ ቦራ ኤሂዲ ሹኪቴ፤ ኣኔ ሚዲ ኡፋዬቶስ።BSBBSB: Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let us feast and celebrate.
24. 24GMVEሃይሲ ታ ናዚ ሃይቂዴስ ሺን ፓጺዴስ፤ ꬋይዴስ ሺን ቤቲዴስ› ጊዴስ፤ ሄሳፌ ጉዬ ኡፋዬቴꬅ ኦይኪዳ።BSBBSB: For this son of mine was dead and is alive again! He was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.
25. 25GMVE«ሄሲ ሃኒዛ ዎዴ ባይራ ናዚ ጎሻሶን ዴስ፤ ሄፔካ ሲሚዲ ሶ ማቲዳ ዎዴ ዲꬃ ዱሪስ ሲዪዴስ።BSBBSB: Meanwhile the older son was in the field, and as he approached the house, he heard music and dancing.
26. 26GMVEኢዚካ ኣሽካራታፔ ኢሳ ጼይጊዲ፥ ‹ሄሲ ኣዜ?› ጊ ኦይቺዴስ።BSBBSB: So he called one of the servants and asked what was going on.
27. 27GMVEኣሽካራዚካ፥ ‹ኔ ኢሻይ ዪዴስ፤ ኢዚ ሳሮኒኔ ሎኦን ሲሚዳ ጊሻስ ኔ ኣዋይ ሞꬎ ሚርጎ ቦራ ሹኪዴስ› ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: ‘Your brother has returned,’ he said, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has him back safe and sound.’
28. 28GMVE«ባይራ ኢሻዚካ ሃንቄቲዲ ሶ ጌላናስካ ኮዪቤና። ኣዋይካ ካሬ ኬዚዲ ኢዚ ሶ ጌላና ማላ ዎሲዴስ።BSBBSB: The older son became angry and refused to go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him.
29. 29GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚካ ዛሪዲ ኣዋስ፥ ‹ሄኮ ታኒ ሃይሳ ጋካናስ ኔስ ኣይሌ ማላ ኦꬃዲስ፤ ኔ ኣዛዞፔ ኢሲኖካ ፓጪሳቤኬ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ታኒ ታ ላጌታራ ኡፋዬታና ማላ ኔ ታስ ኢሲ ዴይሻ ላቃካ ኢማቤካ።BSBBSB: But he answered his father, ‘Look, all these years I have served you and never disobeyed a commandment of yours. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.
30. 30GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ሃይሲ ኔ ናዚ ኔስ ዲዛይሳ ኡባ ላይማቲዛይታራ ዉርሲዲ ዪሺን ሞꬎ ሚርጎ ቦራ ኢዛስ ሹካዳሳ› ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: But when this son of yours returns from squandering your wealth with prostitutes, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
31. 31GMVE«ኣዋይካ፥ ‹ታ ናዞ ኔ ኡባ ዎዴ ታናራ ዳሳ፤ ታስ ጊዲዳይ ዉሪካ ኔሳ።BSBBSB: ‘Son, you are always with me,’ the father said, ‘and all that is mine is yours.
32. 32GMVEሃይሲ ኔ ኢሻይ ሃይቂዴስ ሺን ፓጺዴስ፤ ꬋይዴስ ሺን ቤቲዴስ፤ ሄሳ ጊሻስ ኑኒ ኡፋዬታናስ ቤሴስ› ጊዴስ።»BSBBSB: But it was fitting to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
