1ዬሱሲ ጺሎ ኣያናን ኩሚዲ ዮርዳኖሴ ሻፋፔ ሲሚዳ ማላ ጺሎ ኣያናይ ኢዛ ካሌꬂዲ ባዞ ቢታ ኤፊዴስ።Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

2ሄንካ ጻላኤን ኦይዱ ታሙ ጋላስ ፓጬቲዴስ። ሄ ፓጬቲዛ ጋላሳታን ኣይኮካ ሞንታ ጊሻስ ዉርሴꬃን ጋፊዴስ።where for forty days He was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He was hungry.

3ጻላኤይካ ዬሱሳ፥ «ኔ ጾሳ ና ጊዲኮ ኣኔ ሃይሳ ሹቻ ካꬅ ጊዳና ማላ ኣዛዛ» ጊዴስ።The devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

4ዬሱሲካ ዛሪዲ፥ «ኣሲ ካꬃን ጻላ ዴና ጌቴቲዲ ጻፌቲዴስ» ጊዲ ጻላኤስ ዛሪዴስ።But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”

5ሄሳፌ ካሊዲ ጻላኤይ ዬሱሳ ኢሲ ꬎቃ ዙማ ቦላ ኬሲዲ ሳሎ ጉፋንꬆን ዲዛ ካዎቴꬃታ ቂጲዳ ኣይፌይ ጼላናስ ቤሲዲ፥Then the devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.

6«ሃይሲ ኔ ቤኢዛ ቢታ ካዎታ ጎዳቴꬂኔ ቦንቾይ ዉሪካ ታስ ኢሜቲዴስ፤ ታኒካ ታ ዶሲዛዴስ ኢማናስ ዳንዳይዛ ጊሻስ ኔስካ ኢማና።“I will give You authority over all these kingdoms and all their glory,” he said. “For it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish.

7«ሄሳ ጊሻስ ኔኒ ኩንዳዳ ታስ ጎይኒኮ ሃይሲ ዉሪካ ኔስ ጊዳና» ጊዴስ።So if You worship me, it will all be Yours.”

8ዬሱሲካ ዛሪዲ፥ «ኔ ጎዳ ጾሳስ ኩንዳዳ ኢዛስ ጻላ ጎይና ጌቴቲዲ ጻፌቲዴስ» ጊዴስ።But Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’”

9ሄሳፌካ ዬሱሳ ዬሩሳላሜን ጾሳ ኬꬃ ጼራ ኬሲ ኤሲዲ ጾሳ ማጻፋን፥ «ኔና ናጋና ማላ ጾሲ ኔ ጊሻስ ባ ኪታንቻ ኣዛዛና፤ ‹ኔ ቶሆይ ሹቻን ꬉጴቶንታ ማላ ኪታንቻቲ ባ ኩሼራ ኔና ꬎቁ ሂስቲ ኦይካና› ጌቴቲዲ ጻፌቲዳ ጊሻስ ኣኔ ኔ ጾሳ ና ጊዲኮ ሃይሳፌ ዱጌ ኩንዳ» ጊዴስ።Then the devil led Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple. “If You are the Son of God,” he said, “throw Yourself down from here.

12ዬሱሲካ፥ «ኔ ጎዳ ጾሳ ፓጮፋ» ጌቴቲዴስ ጊዲ ዛሪዴስ።But Jesus answered, “It also says, ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

13ጻላኤይካ ባ ፓጫናይሳ ዉርሲዳፔ ጉዬ ባስ ኢንጄ ዎዴይ ቤታናሼ ዬሱሳፔ ሻኬቲዴስ።When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

14ዬሱሲካ ጺሎ ኣያና ዎልቃን ጋሊላ ሲሚዴስ፤ ኢዛ ጎባቴꬂ ጋሊላ ኣቻን ዲዛ ዴሬታን ሲዬቲዴስ።Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and the news about Him spread throughout the surrounding region.

15ኢዚካ ኣይሁዳታ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ታማርሲሺን ኢዛ ቲሚርቴይ ሎኢን ኣሳይ ዉሪካ ኢዛ ጋላቲዴስ።He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by everyone.

16ሄፔ ባ ዬሌቲዳ ካታማ ናዚሬቴ ዪዲ ካሴ ሳምባታ ጋላስ ኣይሁዳ ዎሳ ኬꬅ ጌሊዛ ማላ ጌሊዲ ጾሳ ማጻፋ ናባባናስ ዴንዲ ኤቂዴስ።Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath. And when He stood up to read,

17ናቤ ኢሳያሳ ማጻፋይ ኢዛስ ኢሜቲን ማጻፋ ዶይዳ ማላ።the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:

18«ጎዳ ኣያናይ ታ ቦላ ዴስ፤ ማንቆታስ ሚሺራቾ ቃላ ዮታና ማላ ታና ቲይዴስ፤ ቃሼቲዳይታስ ቢርሼቴꬅ፥ ቆቄቲ ጼላና ኦጌ ታ ኣዋጃና ማላ፥ ሜቶቴቲዳይታ ኣሻና ማላ፥ ዶሴቲዳ ጎዳ ላይꬃ ኣዋጃ ታ ዮታና ማላ ታና ኪቲዴስ» ጊዛሶ ዴሚ ናባቢዴስ።“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed,

20ማጻፋካ ጎርዲዲ ኣይሁዳ ዎሳ ኬꬄ ናጊዛይሳስ ዛሪ ኢሚዲ ኡቲዴስ። ኣይሁዳታ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ዲዛይቲ ዉሪካ ኢዛ ቲሺ ሂስቲ ጼሊዳ።Then He rolled up the scroll, returned it to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on Him,

21ኢዚካ ኢስታስ፥ «ሃይሲ ኢንቴ ኢንቴ ሃይꬃራ ሲዪዳ ማጻፋ ቃላይ ሃች ፖሌቲዴስ» ጊዴስ።and He began by saying, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

22ኣሳይ ዉሪካ ኢዛ ጊሻስ ሎኦ ጻላላ ሃሳዬቴስ፤ ቃሴካ ኢዛ ዶናፔ ኬዚዛ ሎኦ ቃላፔ ዴንዲዳይሳን ማላሌቲዲ፥ «ሃይሲ ዮሴፌ ና ጊዴኔ?» ጊዳ።All spoke well of Him and marveled at the gracious words that came from His lips. “Isn’t this the son of Joseph?” they asked.

23ኢዚካ፥ «ꬋሌ ጎዶ ኔርካ ኔና ፓꬃ፤ ቂፊርናሆሜን ኔኒ ኦꬂሺን ኑ ሲዪዳይሳ ሃይሳን ኔ ካታማንካ ኦꬃ ጊዛ ሌሚሶ ኢንቴ ታ ቦላ ማላታናይሳስ ሲꬌይ ባ» ጊዲ ኢስታስ ዮቲዴስ።Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to Me: ‘Physician, heal yourself! Do here in Your hometown what we have heard that You did in Capernaum.’”

24ቃሴካ፥ «ታ ኢንቴስ ቱማ ጋይስ፤ ናቤይ ባ ዬሌቲዳ ዴሬን ቦንቼቲ ኤሬና።Then He added, “Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in his hometown.

25«ጊዶ ኣቲን ታ ኢንቴስ ቱማ ጋይስ፤ ሄꬑ ላይꬂኔ ባጋ ጋካናስ ሳሎይ ጎርዴቲን ዎልቃማ ኮሻይ ቢታ ቦላ ሃኒዳ ኤላሳ ዎዴ ሄ ላይꬃታን ኣዚናይ ባይንዳ ዳሮ ማጫሳቲ ኢስራኤሌ ቢታን ዴቴስ ሺን ኤላሲ ኢስታፌ ኢሲኔይኮካ ኪቴቲቤና። ጊዶ ኣቲን ሲዶና ጌቴቲዛ ቢታን ሴራጲታ ጌቴቲዛ ካታማን ዲዛ ኢሲ ኣዚናይ ባይንዳ ማጫሳይኮ ኪቴቲዴስ።But I tell you truthfully that there were many widows in Israel in the time of Elijah, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and great famine swept over all the land.

27ናቤ ኤልሳኤ ዎዴ ኢስራኤሌ ዴሬን ዳሮ ኢንቺራቻ ሃርጊዛይቲ ዴቴስ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ሶሪያ ቢታ ኣስ ኒኢማኔፔ ኣቲን ሄ ዳሮታፔ ኦኒካ ኢንቺራቻ ሃርጌፌ ፓጺቤና» ጊዴስ።And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet. Yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”

28ኣይሁዳታ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ዲዛይቲ ዉሪካ ሄሳ ሲዪዲ ዳሮ ሃንቄቲዳ።On hearing this, all the people in the synagogue were enraged.

29ባ ኡቲዳሶሆፔ ዴንዲ ኤቂዲ ዬሱሳ ካታማፔ ካሬ ኬሲዲ ዱጌ ዛሪ ዬዳናስ ኢስታ ካታማያ ኦሴቲዳ ዙማ ቦላ ኣፎቲዛሶን ኦሴቲዳሶ ኤኪ ኤፊዳ።They got up, drove Him out of the town, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw Him over the cliff.

30ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚ ኢስታ ጊዶራ ሻኪ ዬጊዲ ኣꬊ ቢዴስ።But Jesus passed through the crowd and went on His way.

31ሄፔካ ጋሊላ ኣዉራጃን ዲዛ ቂፊርናሆሜ ጌቴቲዛ ካታማ ዎꬊዴስ፤ ሄንካ ሳምባታ ጋላስ ዳሮ ኣሳ ታማርሶ ኦይኪዴስ።Then He went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath He began to teach the people.

32ኢዚ ጎዳቴꬃራ ሃሳይዛ ጊሻስ ኢዛ ቲሚርቴዛን ማላሌቲዳ።They were astonished at His teaching, because His message had authority.

33ኣይሁዳታ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ቱና ኣያናይ ኦይኪዳ ኣዴይ ዴስ። ኢዚካ ባ ቃላ ꬎቁ ሂስቲዲ፥In the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of an unclean demon. He cried out in a loud voice,

34«ናዚሬቴ ዬሱሳ ሃኢ ታ ዋኖ? ኔናራ ታና ኣዚ ጋꬂዴ? ኔ ዪዳይ ኑና ꬋይሳናሴ? ኔ ኦናኮ ታ ኤራይስ፤ ኔ ጾሳ ጺሎዛ ጊዲኪ?» ጊዲ ዋሲዴስ።“Ha! What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

35ዬሱሲካ ቱና ኣያናዛ ሃ ኣዴዛፔ፥ «ጮኡ ጋዳ ኬዛ» ጊዲ ሴሪዴስ፤ ቱና ኣያናዚካ ዳሮ ኣሳ ሲንꬃን ኣዴዛ ቦላፌ ዬጊዲ ኢሲ ቆሆካ ጋꬆንታ ዬዲ ኬዚዴስ።But Jesus rebuked the demon. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!” At this, the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without harming him.

36ኣሳይ ዉሪካ ማላሌቲዲ ባ ጊዶን ኢሶይ ኢሳራ፥ «ኣሶ ሃይሲ ኣይ ጊዛ ቲሚርቴ? ጎዳቴꬃራኔ ዎልቃራ ኢታ ኣያና ኣዛዜስ፤ ኢስቲካ ኬዜቴስ» ጊዲ ሃሳዬቲዳ።All the people were overcome with amazement and asked one another, “What is this message? With authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”

37ዬሱሳ ጎባቴꬂካ ኡባሶ ጋኪዴስ።And the news about Jesus spread throughout the surrounding region.

38ሄሳፌ ጉዬ ዬሱሲ ኣይሁዳ ዎሳ ኬꬃፌ ኬዚዲ ሲሞና ኬꬄ ጌሊዴስ። ሲሞና ቦሎቴያ፥ «ዎልቃማ ሚሾ ሃርጌይ ኦይኪን ሳኬታዳ ዲሺን ዬሱሳ ኢዞ ፓꬃርኪ!» ጊዲ ዎሲዳ።After Jesus had left the synagogue, He went to the home of Simon, whose mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever. So they appealed to Jesus on her behalf,

39ዬሱሲካ ኢዚኮ ሺቂዲ ሚሾ ሃርጌዛ ሴሪዴስ። ሚሻ ሃርጌይካ ዬዲን ሄራካ ዴንዳ ኤቃዳ ኢማꬃታ ሞካዱስ።and He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and began to serve them.

40ኣርሼይ ዉላና ጊሺን ዱማ ዱማ ሃርጌይ ኦይኪዳ ኣሳ ዉርሲ ኢዛኮ ኤኪ ዪዳ። ኢዚካ ሃርጊዛ ኣሳ ኡባ ቦላ ባ ኩሼ ዎꬂዲ ፓꬂዴስ።At sunset, all who were ill with various diseases were brought to Jesus, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them.

41ቱና ኣያናቲ ቃሴካ ዬሱሳ፥ «ኔኒ ጾሳ ና» ጊሼኔ ዋሲሼ ዳሮ ኣሳታፔ ኬዚዳ፤ ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚ ኢስታ ሴሪዴስ፤ ቱና ኣያናቲ ኢዚ ኪርስቶሳ ጊዲዳይሳ ኤሪዛ ጊሻስ ኢስቲ ኢሲኖካ ሃሳያና ማላ ኮዪቤና።Demons also came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But He rebuked the demons and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Christ.

42ጋዴይ ዎንቲሺን ዬሱሲ ኢሲ ኣሲካ ባይንዳሶ ቢዴስ። ዳሮ ኣሳይካ ኢዛ ኮዪሼ ኢዚ ዲዛሶ ጋኪዴስ። ኢዚ ኢስታፌ ሻኬቲዲ ቦንታ ማላ ዲጋናስ ኮዪዳ።At daybreak, Jesus went out to a solitary place, and the crowds were looking for Him. They came to Him and tried to keep Him from leaving.

43ጊዶ ኣቲን ኢስታስ፥ «ጌዴ ሃራ ካታማ ባዳ ጾሳ ካዎቴꬃ ሚሺራቾ ቃላ ዮታናስ ታስ ቤሴስ፤ ታኒ ኪቴቲዳ ጊታ ቆፋይ ሄሳ» ጊዴስ።But Jesus told them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well, because that is why I was sent.”

44ኢዚካ ዩሁዳን ኣይሁዳታ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ቃላ ጉጂ ዮቲዴስ።And He continued to preach in the synagogues of Judea.
