Matthew 13 (GOFE)

1ሄ ጋላስ የሱሲ ሶፐ ከይድ አባ ጋፃን ኡትስ።That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea.

2ዳሮ ደረይ እያ ዩሹዋን ሺቅን አሳ አባ ጋፃን አጋግድ ዎጎሎን ገልድ ኡትስ።Such large crowds gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat down, while all the people stood on the shore.

3አሳስ ዳሮባ ሌምሶን ያግድ ኦድስ፦ “እስ ጎሻንቾይ ዘረꬅ ዘራናዉ ከይስ።And He told them many things in parables, saying, “A farmer went out to sow his seed.

4እ ዘርያ ዎደ እስ እስ ዘረꬃት ኦገ ጋፃን ዎꬍዶሶና፤ ኤንታካ ካፎት ይድ ማፅ ምዶሶና።And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

5እስ እስ ዘረꬃት ጋርሳን ሻሎይ ደእያ ቢታ ቦላ ዎꬍዶሶና። ዳሮ ቢት ባይና ግሾ ኤለስድ ዶልስ።Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.

6ሽን አዋይ ከይን ሹልስ፤ ፃጶይ ባይና ግሾ መልስ።But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

7እስ እስ ዘረꬃይ አጉንꬃ ግዶን ዎꬍስ፤ አጉንꬃይ ድጭድ ሄ ዶላ ጩልስ።Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings.

8ሀራት ቃስ አራዳ ቢታ ቦላ ዎꬍስ፤ ዶልድ አይፈ አይፍስ። እሶይ ፄታ፥ እሶይ ኡሱፑን ታማ፥ እሶይ ቃስ ሀስታማ አይፍስ።Still other seed fell on good soil and produced a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.

9ስእያ ሀይꬅ ደእያ ኡራይ ስኦ” ያግስ።He who has ears, let him hear.”

10የሱሳ ታማረት እያኮ ሺቅድ፥ “አይስ ኔኒ ደርያስ ሌምሶን ኦዳይ?” ያግድ ኦይችዶሶና።Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?”

11እ ዛሪድ፥ “ህንተዉ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃ ፁራ ኤራይ እመትስ፥ ሽን ኤንታዉ እመትቤና።He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.

12ደእያ ኡባስ ጉዠታና፥ እያዉ ዳራና፥ ሽን ባይናይሳፈ ሀር አቶሽን እያዉ ደእያራካ ኤከታና።Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

13ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ታኒ ኤንቲ፥ ፄልሸ ደሞና መላ፥ ስእሸ ስኦና መላ ዎይኮ አኬኮና መላ ኤንታዉ ሌምሶን ኦዳይስ።This is why I speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’

14“እሳያስ ባ ማፃፋን ኦድዳይስ ኤንታ ቦላ ፖለትስ። እ ኦድሸ፥ “ ‘ህንተ ስስ ስኤታ፥ ሽን አኬከከታ፤ ህንተ ፄለታ፥ ሽን በኤከታ።In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

15አይስ ጊኮ፥ ሀ አሳ ዎዛናይ ዘልኡምስ፤ ባንታ ሀይꬃ ኤርሸ ቱልስዶሶና፥ ባንታ አይፍያ ጎዝዶሶና። ሄስ ባይነኮ ኤንቲ ባንታ አይፍያን በእድ፥ ባንታ ሀይꬃን ስእድ፥ ባንታ ዎዛናን አኬክድ፥ ታኮ ስማና፥ ታካ ኤንታ ፓꬃናሽን’ ያግስ።For this people’s heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.’

16“ሽን ህንተ አይፈት በእያ ግሾነ ህንተ ሀይꬃት ስእያ ግሾ ህንተ አንጀትዳይሳታ።But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

17ታ ህንተዉ ቱማ ኦዳይስ፤ ዳሮ ናበትነ ፅሎት ህንተ በኤይሳ በአናዉነ ህንተ ስኤይሳ ስአናዉ አሞትዶሶና፥ ሽን ኤንታዉ ሀንቤና።For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

18“ህዛ፥ ሀ ዘረꬅ ዘርያ ኡራ ሌምሱዋ ስእተ።Consider, then, the parable of the sower:

19ኦገ ጋፃን ዎꬍዳ ዘረꬃ ሌምሶይ ሀይሳ፦ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃ ቃላ ስእድ አኬኮና ኡራ ዎዛናፐ ፃላሄይ ይድ እያ ዎዛናን ደእያ ዘረꬃ ማፅ ድጌስ።When anyone hears the message of the kingdom but does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

20ሻሎይ ጋርሳን ደእያ ቢታ ቦላ ዘረትዳይስ ቃላ ስእድ ኤለስድ ኡፋይሳን ኤከይሳታ።The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

21ሽን ፃጶ የዳናዉ ዳንዳኦና ግሾ ዳሮ ጋምኦኮና። ቃላ ጋሶን መቶይ ዎይኮ ጎደተꬅ ያ ዎደ ኤለስ ꬉበቶሶና።But since he has no root, he remains for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

22አጉንꬃ ጋꬃን ዘረትዳይስ ቃላ ስእስ፥ ሽን ሀ አላምያ ዱሳ ህርጋይነ ዱረተꬃ ቆፋይ ቃላ ጩልያ ግሾ አይፈ አይፎና አቴስ።The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

23ሽን አራዳ ቢታን ዘረትዳ ዘረꬃይ አኬካን ቃላ ስእያ ኡራ። እ አይፈ አይፌስ፤ እሶይ ፄታ፥ እሶይ ኡሱፑን ታማ እሶይ ቃስ ሀስታማ አይፌስ” ያግስ።But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and produces a crop—a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.”

24የሱሲ ኤንታዉ ሀራ ሌምሶ ኦድስ፥ “ፆሳ ካዎተꬃይ ባ ጎሻን ሎኦ ዘረꬅ ዘርዳ ኡራ ዳኔስ።Jesus put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.

25ሽን አስ ኡባይ ꬍስክን እያ ሞርከይ ይድ ግስትያ ግዶን ሌሾ ዘርድ ብስ።But while everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and slipped away.

26ግስተይ ድጭድ አይፍያ ዎደ ሌሾይ እያ ግዶን በንትስ።When the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared.

27“ጋድያ ጎዳ አይለት ጎዳኮ ብድ፥ ‘ጎዳዉ፥ ነ ጎሻን ነ ሎኦ ዘረꬅ ዘራብክሾ? ያትን፥ ሌሾይ አዉፐ ይዴ?’ ያግዶሶና።The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

28“እ ኤንታኮ፥ ‘ሄሳ ሞርከይ ኦꬅስ’ ያግስ። “አይለት ጎዳኮ፥ ‘ኑ ብድ ሌሹዋ ሾዳና መላ ኮያይ?’ ያግዶሶና።‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. So the servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29“ሽን እ፥ ‘አቶ ቦቾፍተ፤ ህንተ ሌሹዋ ሾዳይስ ግሽን ግስተይ ሾደታና።‘No,’ he said, ‘if you pull the weeds now, you might uproot the wheat with them.

30ቦቾፍተ፤ ጫካ ዎደይ ጋካናዉ እስፈ ድጮ። ሄ ዎደ ጫክያ አሳታ ሌሹዋ ስንꬃትድ ማፅድ ታማን ፁጋናዉ ምርቀን ምርቀን ቃችተ። ሽን ግስትያ ሺሽድ ታ ሻልያን ቆልተ’ ያጋና” ያግስ።Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat into my barn.’”

31ቃስ ሀራ ሌምሶ ያግድ ኦድስ፤ “ሳሎ ካዎተꬃይ እስ አስ ባ ጎሻን ባክዳ ጉꬃ ምꬄ አይፈ ዳኔስ።He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and planted in his field.

32ሄ ምꬄ አይፈይ ሀራ ምꬃ አይፈታፐ ጉꬃ፥ ሽን እያ ዶላ ድጭዳ ሀራ ምꬃታ ኡባፈ አꬋዳ ግታታዉሱ። እ ታሽያን ካፎት ኬፅድ ኡታና ጋካናዉ ዎልቃማ ምꬅ ግዳዉሱ” ያግስ።Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

33ካልድካ፥ የሱሲ ሀራ ሌምሶ ኦድስ፤ “ሳሎ ካዎተꬃይ እስ ማጫስ ሄꬑ ጋባተ ꬊለ ኤካ ሙኑቃዳ፥ ሙኑቃይ ደንዳና መላ እያን ጉጅዳ እርሾ ዳኔስ” ያግስ።He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”

34የሱሲ ደርያስ ሄ ሌምሱዋ ኡባ ኦድስ። ሌምሶይ ባይና እስባካ ኦድቤና።Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables. He did not tell them anything without using a parable.

35ናበይ ባ ማፃፋን፥ “ታኒ ታ ዶና፥ ሌምሶን ዶያና፤ ሳሎይነ ሳእ መቶሳፐ፥ ጌምዳይሳ ኦዳይስ” ያግድ ኦድዳይስ ሄሳን ፖለትስ።So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

36የሱሲ ደርያ ሞይዝድ ሶ ገልስ። እያ ታማረት እያኮ ሺቅድ፥ “ጎሻን ደእያ ሌሹዋ ብርሸꬃ ኑስ ኦዳ” ያግዶሶና።Then Jesus dismissed the crowds and went into the house. His disciples came to Him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

37እ ዛሪድ፥ “ሎኦ ዘረꬃ ዘርዳይ አሳ ናአ።He replied, “The One who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.

38ጎሻይ ሀ አላምያ። ሎኦ ዘረꬃይ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃ ናይታ። ሌሾይ ፃላሄ ናይታ።The field is the world, and the good seed represents the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

39ሌሹዋ ዘርዳይ ሞርክያ ፃላሄ። ጫካ ዎደይ፥ ዎደ ዉርሰꬅ፤ ጫከይሳት ኪታንቾታ።and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

40“ሌሾይ ማፀትድ ታማን ፁገተይሳ መላ ዎድያ ዉርሰꬃን ሄሳዳ ሀናና።As the weeds are collected and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of the age.

41አሳ ናአይ ባ ኪታንቾታ ኪታና። ኤንቲ ናጋራስ ጋሶ ግደይሳታነ ኢታ ኦꬅያ ኡባ ማፅድ እያ ካዎተꬃፈ ከሳና።The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice lawlessness.

42ማፅ ሺሽድ ዬሆይነ አቻ ጋርጨꬅ ደእያ ቶኦና ታማን የጋና።And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

43ሄ ዎደ ፅሎት ባንታ አዋ ካዎተꬃን አዋዳ ፖአና። ስእያ ሀይꬅ ደኤይ ስኦ!Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

44“ፆሳ ካዎተꬃይ ጎሻን ሞገትዳ ሚሸ ዳኔስ። እስ አስ ሄ ሚሽያ ደምድ ዛር ሞግስ። ዳሮ ኡፋይትድ ብድ ባዉ ደእያባ ኡባ ባይዝድ ሄ ጎሻ ጋድያ ሻምስ።The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy he went and sold all he had and bought that field.

45“ሄሳዳካ፥ ቃስ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃይ እንቁ ጌተትያ አልኦ ሹቻታ ኮይያ ዛልአንቾ ዳኔስ።Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls.

46ዳሮ አልኦ እንቁዋ ደምድ ብድ ባዉ ደእያባ ኡባ ባይዝድ እያ ሻምስ።When he found one very precious pearl, he went away and sold all he had and bought it.

47“ቃስ ፆሳ ካዎተꬃይ አባን የገትዳ ዱማ ዱማ ቆሞ ሞሎ ኦይክያ ግትያ ዳኔስ።Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was cast into the sea and caught all kinds of fish.

48ሞሎ ኦይክያ አሳት ሞሎይ ግትያን ኩምን አባፈ ጋፃ ከስዶሶና። ያን ኡትድ ሎኡዋ ቆር ቆር ዳቾን የግዶሶና፥ ሽን ኢታ ሞሎታ ዎራ ሆልዶሶና።When it was full, the men pulled it ashore. Then they sat down and sorted the good fish into containers, but threw the bad away.

49ዎድያ ዉርሰꬃን ሄሳꬆ ሀናና። ኪታንቾት ይድ ናጋራንቾታ ፅሎታፐ ሻክድ፥So will it be at the end of the age: The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous

50ዬሆይነ አቻ ጋርጨꬅ ደእያ ቶኦና ታማን የጋና።and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

51“ሀ ኡባይ ህንተዉ ገልዴ?” ያግድ ኤንታ ኦይችስ። ኤንቲ ዛሪድ፥ “ኤ” ያግዶሶና።Have you understood all these things?” “Yes,” they answered.

52የሱሲ፥ “ህዛ፥ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃ ኤራ ኤክድ ህግያ ታማርስያ ኡባይ፥ ባ ምንጅዳ ሻሉዋፐ ኦራꬃነ ጋልአ ከስያ አሰ ዳኔስ” ያግስ።Then He told them, “For this reason, every scribe who has been discipled in the kingdom of heaven is like a homeowner who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”

53የሱሲ ሀ ሌምሱዋ ኦድ ዉርስዳፐ ጉየ ያፐ ደንድድ ብስ።When Jesus had finished these parables, He withdrew from that place.

54ባ የለትዳ ቢታ ብድ አይሁደ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ደርያ ታማርስስ። ኤንቲ ማላለትድ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ ሀ ጭንጫተꬃነ ሀ ማላታታ ኦꬅያ ዎልቃ አዉፐ ኤክዴ?Coming to His hometown, He taught the people in their synagogue, and they were astonished. “Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?” they asked.

55ሀይስ አናፅያ ናኣ ግደነዬ? እያ አየ ሱንꬃይ ማይራሞ ግደኔ? እያ እሻት ያይቆባ፥ ዮሰፋ፥ ስሞናነ ይሁዳ ግዶኮናዬ?“Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t His mother’s name Mary, and aren’t His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

56እያ ምቸት ኑራ ደኦሶና ግዶኮና? ያትን፥ ሀ ኡራይ ሀ ኡባ አዉፐ ኤክዴ?” ያግዶሶና።Aren’t all His sisters with us as well? Where then did this man get all these things?”

57ሄሳ ግሾ፥ እ ግያባ ኤኮና እፅዶሶና። ሽን የሱሲ፥ “ናበይ ባ የለትዳ ቢታንነ ባ ሶ አሳ ማታን ቦንቸተና” ያግስ።And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown and in his own household is a prophet without honor.”

58ኤንቲ አማኖና እፅዳ ግሾ ዳሮ ማላታታ ሄ በሳን ኦꬅቤና።And He did not do many miracles there, because of their unbelief.
