2 STV ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου μοναὶ πολλαί εἰσιν· εἰ δὲ μή εἶπον ἂν ὑμῖν πορεύομαι ἑτοιμάσαι τόπον ὑμῖν BSB BSB: In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
3 STV καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶ καὶ ἑτοιμάσω ὑμῖν τόπον πάλιν ἔρχομαι καὶ παραλήψομαι ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν ἵνα ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἦτε BSB BSB: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am.
4 STV καὶ ὅπου ἐγὼ ὑπάγω οἴδατε καὶ τὴν ὁδόν οἴδατε, BSB BSB: You know the way to the place where I am going.”
5 STV Λέγει αὐτῷ Θωμᾶς Κύριε οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις· καὶ πῶς δυνάμεθα τὴν ὁδὸν εἰδέναι BSB BSB: “Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
7 STV εἰ ἐγνώκειτέ με καὶ τὸν πατέρα μου ἐγνώκειτε ἂν· καὶ ἀπ’ ἄρτι γινώσκετε αὐτὸν καὶ ἑωράκατε αὐτόν BSB BSB: If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
8 STV λέγει αὐτῷ Φίλιππος Κύριε δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα καὶ ἀρκεῖ ἡμῖν BSB BSB: Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
10 STV οὐ πιστεύεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστιν τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἐγὼ λαλῶ ὑμῖν ἀπ’ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐ λαλῶ, ὁ δὲ πατὴρ ὁ ἐν ἐμοὶ μένων αὐτὸς ποιεῖ τὰ ἔργα BSB BSB: Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works.
11 STV πιστεύετέ μοι ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί· εἰ δὲ μή διὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτὰ πιστεύετε μοι BSB BSB: Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me—or at least believe on account of the works themselves.
12 STV ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ τὰ ἔργα ἃ ἐγὼ ποιῶ κἀκεῖνος ποιήσει καὶ μείζονα τούτων ποιήσει ὅτι ἐγὼ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου πορεύομαι· BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 STV καὶ ὅ τι ἂν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου τοῦτο ποιήσω ἵνα δοξασθῇ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ υἱῷ· BSB BSB: And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 STV ἐάν τι αἰτήσητέ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐγὼ ποιήσω BSB BSB: If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.
17 STV τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας ὃ ὁ κόσμος οὐ δύναται λαβεῖν ὅτι οὐ θεωρεῖ αὐτὸ οὐδὲ γινώσκει· αὐτό ὑμεῖς δὲ γινώσκετε αὐτὸ, ὅτι παρ’ ὑμῖν μένει καὶ ἐν ὑμῖν ἔσται BSB BSB: the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
18 STV Οὐκ ἀφήσω ὑμᾶς ὀρφανούς ἔρχομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς BSB BSB: I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
19 STV ἔτι μικρὸν καὶ ὁ κόσμος με οὐκ ἔτι θεωρεῖ ὑμεῖς δὲ θεωρεῖτέ με ὅτι ἐγὼ ζῶ καὶ ὑμεῖς ζήσεσθε BSB BSB: In a little while the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live.
20 STV ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ γνώσεσθε ὑμεῖς ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί μου καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν ὑμῖν BSB BSB: On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.
21 STV ὁ ἔχων τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τηρῶν αὐτὰς ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν ὁ ἀγαπῶν με· ὁ δὲ ἀγαπῶν με ἀγαπηθήσεται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ ἐγὼ ἀγαπήσω αὐτὸν καὶ ἐμφανίσω αὐτῷ ἐμαυτόν BSB BSB: Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”
22 STV Λέγει αὐτῷ Ἰούδας οὐχ ὁ Ἰσκαριώτης Κύριε τί γέγονεν ὅτι ἡμῖν μέλλεις ἐμφανίζειν σεαυτὸν καὶ οὐχὶ τῷ κόσμῳ BSB BSB: Judas (not Iscariot) asked Him, “Lord, why are You going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?”
24 STV ὁ μὴ ἀγαπῶν με τοὺς λόγους μου οὐ τηρεῖ· καὶ ὁ λόγος ὃν ἀκούετε οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸς ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με πατρός BSB BSB: Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me.
25 STV Ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν παρ’ ὑμῖν μένων· BSB BSB: All this I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
29 STV καὶ νῦν εἴρηκα ὑμῖν πρὶν γενέσθαι ἵνα ὅταν γένηται πιστεύσητε BSB BSB: And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe.
30 STV οὐκ ἔτι πολλὰ λαλήσω μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἔρχεται γὰρ ὁ τοῦ κόσμου τούτου ἄρχων· καὶ ἐν ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔχει οὐδέν BSB BSB: I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming, and he has no claim on Me.
31 STV ἀλλ’ ἵνα γνῷ ὁ κόσμος ὅτι ἀγαπῶ τὸν πατέρα καὶ καθὼς ἐνετείλατο μοι ὁ πατήρ οὕτως ποιῶ Ἐγείρεσθε ἄγωμεν ἐντεῦθεν BSB BSB: But I do exactly what the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Get up! Let us go on from here.
