1ઈસુ સરોવરની સામેની બાજુએ ગયા. કેટલાક લોકો તે સરોવરને "ગાલીલનો સમુદ્ર" કહેતા હતા; બીજા લોકો તેને "તિબેરિયસનો સમુદ્ર" કહેતા હતા.After this, Jesus crossed to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias).

5ઈસુએ નજર ઊંચી કરીને જોયું કે લોકોનો એક મોટો સમુદાય તેમની તરફ આવી રહ્યો હતો. ઈસુએ ફિલિપને કહ્યું, "આ બધા લોકોના ભોજનને માટે આપણે રોટલી ક્યાંથી ખરીદીશું?"When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?”

6તેમણે ફિલિપની કસોટી કરવા માટે આ પ્રશ્ન પૂછ્યો હતો, કે તે શું જવાબ આપશે. જો કે, ઈસુ અગાઉથી જાણતા હતા કે તેઓ આ મુશ્કેલી સંબંધી શું કરવાના હતા.But He was asking this to test him, for He knew what He was about to do.

Now there was plenty of grass in that place, so the men sat down, about five thousand of them.

11પછી ઈસુએ નાની રોટલીઓ અને માછલી લીધી, અને તેના માટે ઈશ્વરનો આભાર માન્યો. પછી તેમણે રોટલી અને માછલી જમીન પર બેઠેલા લોકોને વહેંચી. લોકોએ તેમની જેટલી ઇચ્છા હતી તેટલા પ્રમાણમાં માછલી અને રોટલી ખાધી.Then Jesus took the loaves and the fish, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted.

12જ્યારે બધાએ જમવાનું પૂર્ણ કર્યું, ત્યારે તેમણે શિષ્યોને કહ્યું, "લોકોએ ન ખાધી હોય તેવી જવની રોટલીના ટુકડા એકઠા કરો. કશાનો બગાડ થવા દેશો નહિ."And when everyone was full, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over, so that nothing will be wasted.”

13તેથી તેઓએ પાંચ જવની રોટલીમાંથી ટુકડાઓ ભેગાં કર્યા અને જે વધ્યું હતું તેમાંથી તેઓએ મોટી બાર ટોપલીઓ ભરી.So they collected them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

16જ્યારે સાંજ પડી, ત્યારે તેમના શિષ્યો નીચે ગાલીલના સમુદ્ર પાસે ગયા,When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,

17હોડીમાં બેઠા અને સમુદ્રની સામે બાજુના કફરનાહૂમ તરફ હોડી હંકારવા લાગ્યા. હવે તો અંધારું થયું હતું, અને ઈસુ તેમની સાથે ન હતા.got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet gone out to them.

18ભારે પવન ફૂંકાવા લાગ્યો, અને સમુદ્રનાં મોજાં ઊછળવા લાગ્યાં.A strong wind was blowing, and the sea grew agitated.

19આશરે પાંચ કે છ કિલોમીટર સુધી તેઓએ હલેસાં માર્યા પછી, શિષ્યોએ જોયું કે ઈસુ પાણી પર ચાલીને હોડીની નજીક આવતા હતા. તેઓ ગભરાઈ ગયા!When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the sea—and they were terrified.

20ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું, "એ તો હું છું! બીશો નહિ!"But Jesus spoke up: “It is I; do not be afraid.”

21તેઓ તેમને હોડીમાં લેવા ઘણા ખુશ હતા. જેવા તેઓ તેમની સાથે આવ્યા, તેઓ જ્યાં જવાના હતા ત્યાં તેઓની હોડી આવી પહોંચી.Then they were willing to take Him into the boat, and at once the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

22બીજે દિવસે જે લોકો સરોવરની સામેની બાજુએ હતા તેઓએ જાણ્યું કે એક દિવસ પહેલાં ત્યાં એક જ હોડી હતી. તેઓ એ પણ જાણતા હતા કે ઈસુ તે હોડીમાં તેમના શિષ્યો સાથે ગયા ન હતા.The next day, the crowd that had remained on the other side of the sea realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded it with His disciples, but they had gone away alone.

23કેટલાક માણસો તેમની બીજી હોડીઓમાં સરોવરની સામેની બાજુએ તિબેરિયસ શહેરમાં આવ્યા. લોકોએ જ્યાં રોટલી ખાધી હતી કે જેને માટે પ્રભુએ ઈશ્વરનો આભાર માન્યો હતો, તે જગ્યાની નજીક તેમણે પોતાની હોડીઓ મૂકી.However, some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

24જ્યારે ટોળાએ જાણ્યું કે ઈસુ અને તેમના શિષ્યો ત્યાં ન હતા, ત્યારે તેમાંના કેટલાક હોડીઓમાં બેઠા અને ઈસુને શોધવા કફરનાહૂમમાં ગયા.So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor His disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum to look for Him.

25ગાલીલના સમુદ્રની સામેની બાજુએ કફરનાહૂમમાં તેઓએ ઈસુને શોધ્યા અને તેઓ તેમને ત્યાં મળ્યા. તેઓએ તેમને પૂછ્યું, "ગુરુજી, તમે અહીં ક્યારે આવ્યા?"When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they asked Him, “Rabbi, when did You get here?”

For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.”

28પછી લોકોએ તેમને પૂછ્યું, "ઈશ્વરને પ્રસન્ન કરવા અમારે કેવાં કામ અને સેવા કરવી જોઈએ?"Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform the works of God?”

29ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, "ઈશ્વર તમારી પાસે જે કરાવવા ઇચ્છે છે તે આ છે: મને, એટલે કે જેમને તેમણે મોકલ્યો છે તેના પર વિશ્વાસ કરો."Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”

31અમારા પૂર્વજોએ માન્ના ખાધું, જેમ શાસ્ત્ર કહે છે તેમ: 'ઈશ્વરે તેઓને ખાવા સારુ સ્વર્ગમાંથી રોટલી આપી.'"Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

34તેઓએ તેમને કહ્યું, "ગુરુજી, આ રોટલી અમને હંમેશાં આપો."“Sir,” they said, “give us this bread at all times.”

35ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું, "જેમ લોકોને જીવવા માટે ખોરાકની જરૂર છે, તેમ આત્મિક રીતે જીવવા માટે દરેકને મારી જરૂર છે. જેઓ સામાન્ય ખોરાક અને પાણી લે છે તેઓને ફરીથી ભૂખ અને તરસ લાગશે. પરંતુ જેઓ મારી પાસે માગે છે અને આત્મિક રીતે જીવન જીવવા મારા પર વિશ્વાસ કરે છે તેઓને માટે હું તેમ કરીશ.Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.

42તેઓએ કહ્યું, "શું આ તે ઈસુ નથી કે જેના પિતા યૂસફ છે? શું આપણે તેના માતા-પિતાને ઓળખતા નથી? 'હું સ્વર્ગમાંથી આવ્યો છું' એવું તેઓ સત્યતાથી કેવી રીતે કહી શકે?"They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

43ઈસુએ તેઓને જવાબ આપ્યો, "અંદરોઅંદર બડબડાટ કરવાનું બંધ કરો.“Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied.

48હું રોટલી છું કે જે ખરું જીવન આપે છે.I am the bread of life.

49તમારા પૂર્વજોએ અરણ્યમાં માન્ના ખાધું, પરંતુ તેઓ મરણ પામ્યા.Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.

If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh.”

52જે યહૂદીઓ ઈસુને સાંભળતા હતા તે હવે અંદરોઅંદર ગુસ્સાથી વાદવિવાદ કરી રહ્યા હતા. તેઓ સમજી શકતા ન હતા કે કોઈ બીજાઓને પોતાનું શરીર ખાવાને માટે કેવી રીતે વચન આપી શકે.At this, the Jews began to argue among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

54જેઓ મારું માસ ખાય છે અને મારું રક્ત પીએ છે તેઓ સદાકાળ જીવશે, અને હું તેઓને છેલ્લા દિવસે ફરીથી જીવતા કરીશWhoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever.”

59ઈસુ જ્યારે કફરનાહૂમ શહેરના સભાસ્થાનમાં હતા ત્યારે તેમણે આ બાબતો કહી.Jesus said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

62જો તમે મને, માણસના દીકરાને, સ્વર્ગમાં પાછો જતો જુઓ ત્યારે તમે શું કહેશો?Then what will happen if you see the Son of Man ascend to where He was before?

63માત્ર પવિત્ર આત્મા જીવન આપે છે કે જેનાથી કોઈ પણ સદાકાળ જીવે છે. માનવીય સ્વભાવ આ સંદર્ભે મદદરૂપ નથી. મેં તમને જે બાબતો શીખવી છે તે તમને પવિત્ર આત્મા અને અનંતજીવન વિષે કહેશે.The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.

65પછી તેમણે કહ્યું, "તેથી જ મેં તમને કહ્યું કે પિતા કોઈ વ્યક્તિને મારી પાસે આવવા માટે શક્તિમાન ન કરે ત્યાં સુધી કોઇ પણ મારી પાસે આવી શકતું નથી અને સદાકાળ જીવી શકતું નથી."Then Jesus said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has granted it to him.”

66તે સમયથી, ઈસુના ઘણા શિષ્યોએ તેમને અનુસરવાનું બંધ કરી દીધું.From that time on many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him.

67તેથી તેમણે બાર શિષ્યોને કહ્યું, "તમે પણ મને છોડવા નથી ઇચ્છતા, શું તમે ઈચ્છો છો?"So Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to leave too?”

68સિમોન પિતરે ઉત્તર આપ્યો, "પ્રભુ, અમે કોની પાસે જઈએ? અમને સદાકાળ માટે જીવન આપે એવો સંદેશ માત્ર તમારી પાસે જ છે!Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

69અમે તમારા પર વિશ્વાસ કરીએ છીએ અને અમે નિશ્ચે જાણીએ છીએ કે તમે જ પવિત્ર છો કે જેમને ઈશ્વરે મોકલ્યા છે!"We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.”

70ઈસુએ તેઓને જવાબ આપ્યો, "શું મેં તમને બાર શિષ્યોને પસંદ કર્યા નથી? તેમ છતાં તમારામાંનો એક શેતાન છે!"Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”
