2 ULB ''ઈશ્વરના સોગન ખાઈને કહું છું કે, તેમણે મારો હક ડુબાવ્યો છે, સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરે મારા આત્માને સતાવ્યો છે, BSB BSB: “As surely as God lives, who has deprived me of justice—the Almighty, who has embittered my soul—
3 ULB જ્યાં સુધી હું જીવું છું ત્યાં સુધી, ઈશ્વરનો શ્વાસ મારા નસકોરામાં છે, BSB BSB: as long as my breath is still within me and the breath of God remains in my nostrils,
4 ULB નિશ્ચે મારા હોઠ અન્યાયની વાત નહિ કરે; મારી જીભ અસત્ય નહિ ઉચ્ચારે. BSB BSB: my lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will not utter deceit.
5 ULB હું તમને ન્યાયી ઠરાવું એમ ઈશ્વર ન થવા દો; હું મૃત્યુ પામું, ત્યાં સુધી મારી નિર્દોષતા જાહેર કર્યા કરીશ. BSB BSB: I will never say that you are right; I will maintain my integrity until I die.
6 ULB હું મારી નિર્દોષતાને વળગી રહીશ; હું તેને કદી છોડીશ નહિ મારા આયુષ્યના કોઈ પણ પ્રસંગ વિષે મારું મન મને ડંખતું નથી. BSB BSB: I will cling to my righteousness and never let go. As long as I live, my conscience will not accuse me.
7 ULB મારા શત્રુને દુષ્ટની જેમ; મારી વિરુદ્ધ ઊઠનારને અન્યાયીની જેમ થાઓ. BSB BSB: May my enemy be like the wicked and my opponent like the unjust.
8 ULB જો અધર્મી નફો મેળવે તોપણ ઈશ્વર તેનો જીવ લઈ લે છે, તો પછી તેને શી આશા રહે? BSB BSB: For what is the hope of the godless when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
9 ULB જયારે તેના પર દુ:ખ આવી પડશે ત્યારે શું ઈશ્વર તેનો પોકાર સાંભળશે? BSB BSB: Will God hear his cry when distress comes upon him?
10 ULB શું તે સર્વશક્તિમાન ઈશ્વરથી આનંદ માનશે. અને સર્વ પ્રસંગે ઈશ્વરને વિનંતી કર્યા કરશે? BSB BSB: Will he delight in the Almighty? Will he call upon God at all times?
11 ULB ઈશ્વરની સત્તા વિષે હું તમને શીખવીશ. સર્વશક્તિમાનની યોજના હું છુપાવીશ નહિ. BSB BSB: I will instruct you in the power of God. I will not conceal the ways of the Almighty.
12 ULB જુઓ, તમે તમારી પોતાની આંખોથી તે જોયું છે; છતાં મારી સાથે તમે શા માટે વ્યર્થ વાતો કરો છો? BSB BSB: Surely all of you have seen it for yourselves. Why then do you keep up this empty talk?
13 ULB ઈશ્વર પાસેથી દુષ્ટ માણસનો હિસ્સો, તથા સર્વશક્તિમાન પાસેથી દુષ્ટોને મળતો વારસો આ છે BSB BSB: This is the wicked man’s portion from God—the heritage the ruthless receive from the Almighty.
14 ULB જો તેમનાં સંતાનોની વૃદ્ધિ થાય, તો તે તલવારથી હત્યા થવા માટે છે. અને તેના વંશજો ભૂખમરાને કારણે મૃત્યુ પામશે. BSB BSB: Though his sons are many, they are destined for the sword; and his offspring will never have enough food.
15 ULB તેમાંથી જેઓ બચી જશે તેઓ રોગ અને મૃત્યુનો ભોગ બનશે. અને તેઓની વિધવા શોક કરશે નહિ. BSB BSB: His survivors will be buried by the plague, and their widows will not weep for them.
16 ULB જો કે દુષ્ટ માણસ ધૂળની જેમ રૂપાના ઢગલેઢગલા એકત્ર કરે, અને કાદવની જેમ પુષ્કળ વસ્ત્ર બનાવી દે, BSB BSB: Though he heaps up silver like dust and piles up a wardrobe like clay,
17 ULB તો તે ભલે બનાવે, પરંતુ ન્યાયીઓ તે વસ્ત્રો પહેરશે, અને નિર્દોષ લોકો તે ચાંદી માંહોમાંહે વહેંચી લેશે. BSB BSB: what he lays up, the righteous will wear, and his silver will be divided by the innocent.
18 ULB કરોળિયાનાં જાળાં જેવા અને ચોકીદારે બાંધેલા છાપરાની જેમ, તે પોતાનું ઘર બાંધે છે. BSB BSB: The house he built is like a moth’s cocoon, like a hut set up by a watchman.
19 ULB તે આરામથી પોતાની પથારીમાં સૂઈ જાય છે, પણ તેને આરામ મળશે નહિ; પણ જ્યારે તે પોતાની આંખ ખોલે છે ત્યારે સઘળું તેની સમક્ષથી જતું રહે છે. BSB BSB: He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, all is gone.
20 ULB રેલની જેમ ત્રાસ તેને પકડી પાડે છે; રાત્રે તોફાન તેને ચોરીને લઈ જાય છે. BSB BSB: Terrors overtake him like a flood; a tempest sweeps him away in the night.
21 ULB પૂર્વનો વાયુ તેને ઉડાવીને લઈ જાય છે, એટલે તે લોપ થાય છે; તે તેને તેની જગાએથી બહાર ખેંચી જાય છે. BSB BSB: The east wind carries him away, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place.
22 ULB કેમ કે તે વાયુ તેનાં તરફ બાણ ફેંકશે અને દયા રાખશે નહિ; તે તેમના હાથમાંથી નાસી જવા માટે વ્યર્થ પ્રયત્ન કરે છે. BSB BSB: It hurls itself against him without mercy as he flees headlong from its power.
23 ULB તેના હાથો તાળી પાડીને તેની સામે ઠેકડી ઉડાવશે; તેની જગ્યાએથી તેનો ફિટકાર કરશે. BSB BSB: It claps its hands at him and hisses him out of his place.
