1 ULB માણસો મનમાં સંકલ્પ કરે છે, પણ જીભથી ઉત્તર આપવો તે યહોવાહના હાથમાં છે. BSB BSB: The plans of the heart belong to man, but the reply of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 ULB માણસના સર્વ માર્ગો તેની પોતાની નજરમાં તો ચોખ્ખા છે, પણ યહોવાહ તેઓનાં મનની તુલના કરે છે. BSB BSB: All a man’s ways are pure in his own eyes, but his motives are weighed out by the LORD.
3 ULB તારાં કામો યહોવાહને સોંપી દે એટલે તારી યોજનાઓ સફળ થશે. BSB BSB: Commit your works to the LORD and your plans will be achieved.
4 ULB યહોવાહે દરેક વસ્તુને પોતપોતાના હેતુને માટે સર્જી છે, હા, દુષ્ટોને પણ સંકટના દિવસને માટે સર્જ્યા છે. BSB BSB: The LORD has made everything for His purpose—even the wicked for the day of disaster.
5 ULB દરેક અભિમાની અંતઃકરણવાળી વ્યક્તિને યહોવાહ ધિક્કારે છે, ખાતરી રાખજો તે શિક્ષા પામ્યા વગર રહેશે નહિ. BSB BSB: Everyone who is proud in heart is detestable to the LORD; be assured that he will not go unpunished.
6 ULB દયા તથા સત્યતાથી પાપનું પ્રાયશ્ચિત થાય છે અને યહોવાહના ભયથી માણસો દુષ્ટતાથી દૂર રહે છે. BSB BSB: By loving devotion and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD one turns aside from evil.
7 ULB જ્યારે કોઈ માણસના માર્ગથી યહોવાહ ખુશ થાય છે, ત્યારે તે તેના દુશ્મનોને પણ તેની સાથે શાંતિથી રાખે છે. BSB BSB: When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even the man’s enemies live at peace with him.
8 ULB અન્યાયથી મળેલી ઘણી આવક કરતાં, ન્યાયથી મળેલી થોડી આવક સારી છે. BSB BSB: Better a little with righteousness than great gain with injustice.
9 ULB માણસનું મન પોતાના માર્ગની યોજના કરે છે, પણ તેનાં પગલાં ચલાવવાનું કામ યહોવાહના હાથમાં છે. BSB BSB: A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.
10 ULB રાજાના હોઠોમાં ઈશ્વરવાણી છે, તેનું મુખ ખોટો ઇનસાફ કરશે નહિ. BSB BSB: A divine verdict is on the lips of a king; his mouth must not betray justice.
11 ULB પ્રામાણિક ત્રાજવાં યહોવાહનાં છે; કોથળીની અંદરના સર્વ વજનિયાં તેમનું કામ છે. BSB BSB: Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are His concern.
12 ULB જ્યારે દુષ્ટ કર્મો કરવાથી રાજાઓને કંટાળો આવે છે, ત્યારે સારાં કામોથી રાજ્યાસન સ્થિર થાય છે. BSB BSB: Wicked behavior is detestable for kings, for a throne is established through righteousness.
13 ULB નેક હોઠો રાજાને આનંદદાયક છે અને તેઓ યથાર્થ બોલનાર ઉપર પ્રેમ રાખે છે. BSB BSB: Righteous lips are a king’s delight, and he who speaks honestly is beloved.
14 ULB રાજાનો કોપ મૃત્યુદૂતો જેવો છે, પણ શાણી વ્યક્તિ પોતાના ગુસ્સાને શાંત પાડશે. BSB BSB: The wrath of a king is a messenger of death, but a wise man will pacify it.
15 ULB રાજાના મુખના પ્રકાશમાં જીવન છે અને તેની કૃપા પાછલા વરસાદના વાદળાં જેવી છે. BSB BSB: When a king’s face brightens, there is life; his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.
16 ULB સોના કરતાં ડહાપણ મેળવવું એ કેટલું ઉત્તમ છે. ચાંદી કરતાં સમજણ મેળવવી વધારે યોગ્ય છે. BSB BSB: How much better to acquire wisdom than gold! To gain understanding is more desirable than silver.
17 ULB દુષ્ટતાથી દૂર જવું એ જ પ્રામાણિક માણસનો રાજમાર્ગ છે; જે પોતાનો માર્ગ સંભાળે છે તે પોતાના આત્માનું રક્ષણ કરે છે. BSB BSB: The highway of the upright leads away from evil; he who guards his way protects his life.
18 ULB અભિમાનનું પરિણામ નાશ છે અને ગર્વિષ્ઠ સ્વભાવનો અંત પાયમાલી છે. BSB BSB: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 ULB ગરીબની સાથે નમ્રતા રાખવી તે સારું છે તે અભિમાનીની સાથે લૂંટના ભાગીદાર થવા કરતાં વધારે સારું છે. BSB BSB: It is better to be lowly in spirit among the humble than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 ULB જે પ્રભુના વચનોનું ચિંતન કરે છે તેનું હિત થશે; અને જે કોઈ યહોવાહ પર વિશ્વાસ રાખે છે તે આનંદિત છે. BSB BSB: Whoever heeds instruction will find success, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.
21 ULB જ્ઞાની અંત:કરણવાળો માણસ સમજદાર કહેવાશે; અને તેની મીઠી વાણીથી સમજદારીની વૃદ્ધિ થાય છે. BSB BSB: The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant speech promotes instruction.
22 ULB જેની પાસે સમજ હોય તેને માટે સમજણ જીવનદાતા છે, પણ મૂર્ખ માટે શિક્ષા એ તેઓની મૂર્ખાઈ છે. BSB BSB: Understanding is a fountain of life to its possessor, but the discipline of fools is folly.
23 ULB જ્ઞાનીનું હૃદય તેના મુખને શીખવે છે અને તેના હોઠોને સમજની વૃદ્ધિ કરી આપે છે. BSB BSB: The heart of the wise man instructs his mouth and adds persuasiveness to his lips.
24 ULB માયાળુ શબ્દો મધ જેવા છે, તેઓ આત્માને મીઠા લાગે છે અને હાડકાંને આરોગ્ય આપે છે. BSB BSB: Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
25 ULB એક એવો માર્ગ છે જે માણસને સાચો લાગે છે, પણ અંતે તે મૃત્યુ તરફ લઈ જાય છે. BSB BSB: There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
26 ULB મજૂરની ભૂખ તેની પાસે મજૂરી કરાવે છે; તેની ભૂખ એમ કરવા તેને આગ્રહ કરે છે. BSB BSB: A worker’s appetite works for him because his hunger drives him onward.
27 ULB અધમ માણસ અપરાધ કરે છે અને તેની બોલી બાળી મૂકનાર અગ્નિ જેવી છે. BSB BSB: A worthless man digs up evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire.
28 ULB દુષ્ટ માણસ કજિયાકંકાસ કરાવે છે, અને કૂથલી કરનાર નજીકના મિત્રોમાં ફૂટ પડાવે છે. BSB BSB: A perverse man spreads dissension, and a gossip divides close friends.
29 ULB હિંસક માણસ પોતાના પડોશીને છેતરે છે અને ખરાબ માર્ગમાં દોરી જાય છે. BSB BSB: A violent man entices his neighbor and leads him down a path that is not good.
30 ULB આંખ મટકાવનાર વ્યક્તિ મુશ્કેલી લાવનારી યોજનાઓ કરે છે; હોઠ ભીડનાર વ્યક્તિ કંઈક અનિષ્ટ કરી રહી હોય છે. BSB BSB: He who winks his eye devises perversity; he who purses his lips is bent on evil.
31 ULB સફેદ વાળ એે ગૌરવનો તાજ છે; સત્યને માર્ગે ચાલનારને એ મળે છે. BSB BSB: Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is attained along the path of righteousness.
32 ULB જે ક્રોધ કરવે ધીમો તે પરાક્રમી કરતાં સારો છે, અને જે પોતાના મિજાજને કાબૂમાં રાખે છે તે શહેર જીતનાર કરતાં ઉત્તમ છે. BSB BSB: He who is slow to anger is better than a warrior, and he who controls his temper is greater than one who captures a city.
33 ULB ચિઠ્ઠી ખોળામાં નાખવામાં આવે છે, પણ તે બધાનો નિર્ણય તો યહોવાહના હાથમાં છે. BSB BSB: The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
