1 ULB इन बातों के पश्चात् यहूदियों का एक पर्व हुआ, और यीशु यरूशलेम को गया। BSB BSB: Some time later there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
3 ULB इनमें बहुत से बीमार, अंधे, लँगड़े और सूखे अंगवाले (पानी के हिलने की आशा में) पड़े रहते थे। BSB BSB: On these walkways lay a great number of the sick, the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed.
4 ULB क्योंकि नियुक्त समय पर परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूत कुण्ड में उतरकर पानी को हिलाया करते थे: पानी हिलते ही जो कोई पहले उतरता, वह चंगा हो जाता था, चाहे उसकी कोई बीमारी क्यों न हो। BSB BSB: Not in the BSB
5 ULB वहाँ एक मनुष्य था, जो अड़तीस वर्ष से बीमारी में पड़ा था। BSB BSB: One man there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.
6 ULB यीशु ने उसे पड़ा हुआ देखकर और यह जानकर कि वह बहुत दिनों से इस दशा में पड़ा है, उससे पूछा, “क्या तू चंगा होना चाहता है?” BSB BSB: When Jesus saw him lying there and realized that he had spent a long time in this condition, He asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 ULB उस बीमार ने उसको उत्तर दिया, “हे स्वामी, मेरे पास कोई मनुष्य नहीं, कि जब पानी हिलाया जाए, तो मुझे कुण्ड में उतारे; परन्तु मेरे पहुँचते-पहुँचते दूसरा मुझसे पहले उतर जाता है।” BSB BSB: “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me.”
8 ULB यीशु ने उससे कहा, “उठ, अपनी खाट उठा और चल फिर।” BSB BSB: Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.”
9 ULB वह मनुष्य तुरन्त चंगा हो गया, और अपनी खाट उठाकर चलने फिरने लगा। BSB BSB: Immediately the man was made well, and he picked up his mat and began to walk. Now this happened on the Sabbath day,
10 ULB वह सब्त का दिन था। इसलिए यहूदी उससे जो चंगा हुआ था, कहने लगे, “आज तो सब्त का दिन है, तुझे खाट उठानी उचित नहीं।” (यिर्म. 17:21) BSB BSB: so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “This is the Sabbath! It is unlawful for you to carry your mat.”
11 ULB उसने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “जिस ने मुझे चंगा किया, उसी ने मुझसे कहा, ‘अपनी खाट उठाकर चल फिर’।” BSB BSB: But he answered, “The man who made me well told me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’”
12 ULB उन्होंने उससे पूछा, “वह कौन मनुष्य है, जिस ने तुझ से कहा, ‘खाट उठा और, चल फिर’?” BSB BSB: “Who is this man who told you to pick it up and walk?” they asked.
13 ULB परन्तु जो चंगा हो गया था, वह नहीं जानता था कि वह कौन है; क्योंकि उस जगह में भीड़ होने के कारण यीशु वहाँ से हट गया था। BSB BSB: But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while the crowd was there.
14 ULB इन बातों के बाद वह यीशु को मन्दिर में मिला, तब उसने उससे कहा, “देख, तू तो चंगा हो गया है; फिर से पाप मत करना, ऐसा न हो कि इससे कोई भारी विपत्ति तुझ पर आ पड़े।” BSB BSB: Afterward, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”
15 ULB उस मनुष्य ने जाकर यहूदियों से कह दिया, कि जिस ने मुझे चंगा किया, वह यीशु है। BSB BSB: And the man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
16 ULB इस कारण यहूदी यीशु को सताने लगे, क्योंकि वह ऐसे-ऐसे काम सब्त के दिन करता था। BSB BSB: Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews began to persecute Him.
17 ULB इस पर यीशु ने उनसे कहा, “मेरा पिता अब तक काम करता है, और मैं भी काम करता हूँ।” BSB BSB: But Jesus answered them, “To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working.”
19 ULB इस पर यीशु ने उनसे कहा, “मैं तुम से सच-सच कहता हूँ, पुत्र आप से कुछ नहीं कर सकता, केवल वह जो पिता को करते देखता है, क्योंकि जिन-जिन कामों को वह करता है, उन्हें पुत्र भी उसी रीति से करता है। BSB BSB: So Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
20 ULB क्योंकि पिता पुत्र से प्यार करता है* और जो-जो काम वह आप करता है, वह सब उसे दिखाता है; और वह इनसे भी बड़े काम उसे दिखाएगा, ताकि तुम अचम्भा करो। BSB BSB: The Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. And to your amazement, He will show Him even greater works than these.
21 ULB क्योंकि जैसा पिता मरे हुओं को उठाता और जिलाता है, वैसा ही पुत्र भी जिन्हें चाहता है, उन्हें जिलाता है। BSB BSB: For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom He wishes.
22 ULB पिता किसी का न्याय भी नहीं करता, परन्तु न्याय करने का सब काम पुत्र को सौंप दिया है, BSB BSB: Furthermore, the Father judges no one, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,
23 ULB इसलिए कि सब लोग जैसे पिता का आदर करते हैं वैसे ही पुत्र का भी आदर करें; जो पुत्र का आदर नहीं करता, वह पिता का जिसने उसे भेजा है, आदर नहीं करता। BSB BSB: so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24 ULB मैं तुम से सच-सच कहता हूँ, जो मेरा वचन सुनकर मेरे भेजनेवाले पर विश्वास करता है, अनन्त जीवन उसका है, और उस पर दण्ड की आज्ञा नहीं होती परन्तु वह मृत्यु से पार होकर जीवन में प्रवेश कर चुका है। BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.
25 ULB “मैं तुम से सच-सच कहता हूँ, वह समय आता है, और अब है, जिसमें मृतक परमेश्वर के पुत्र का शब्द सुनेंगे, और जो सुनेंगे वे जीएँगे। BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
26 ULB क्योंकि जिस रीति से पिता अपने आप में जीवन रखता है, उसी रीति से उसने पुत्र को भी यह अधिकार दिया है कि अपने आप में जीवन रखे; BSB BSB: For as the Father has life in Himself, so also He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.
27 ULB वरन् उसे न्याय करने का भी अधिकार दिया है, इसलिए कि वह मनुष्य का पुत्र है। BSB BSB: And He has given Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.
29 ULB जिन्होंने भलाई की है, वे जीवन के पुनरुत्थान के लिये जी उठेंगे और जिन्होंने बुराई की है, वे दण्ड के पुनरुत्थान के लिये जी उठेंगे। (दानि.12:2) BSB BSB: and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
30 ULB “मैं अपने आप से कुछ नहीं कर सकता; जैसा सुनता हूँ, वैसा न्याय करता हूँ, और मेरा न्याय सच्चा है; क्योंकि मैं अपनी इच्छा नहीं, परन्तु अपने भेजनेवाले की इच्छा चाहता हूँ। BSB BSB: I can do nothing by Myself; I judge only as I hear. And My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
31 ULB यदि मैं आप ही अपनी गवाही दूँ; तो मेरी गवाही सच्ची नहीं। BSB BSB: If I testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid.
32 ULB एक और है जो मेरी गवाही देता है, और मैं जानता हूँ कि मेरी जो गवाही वह देता है, वह सच्ची है। BSB BSB: There is another who testifies about Me, and I know that His testimony about Me is valid.
33 ULB तुम ने यूहन्ना से पुछवाया और उसने सच्चाई की गवाही दी है। BSB BSB: You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
34 ULB परन्तु मैं अपने विषय में मनुष्य की गवाही नहीं चाहता*; फिर भी मैं ये बातें इसलिए कहता हूँ, कि तुम्हें उद्धार मिले। BSB BSB: Even though I do not accept human testimony, I say these things so that you may be saved.
35 ULB वह तो जलता और चमकता हुआ दीपक था; और तुम्हें कुछ देर तक उसकी ज्योति में, मगन होना अच्छा लगा। BSB BSB: John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you were willing for a season to bask in his light.
36 ULB परन्तु मेरे पास जो गवाही है, वह यूहन्ना की गवाही से बड़ी है: क्योंकि जो काम पिता ने मुझे पूरा करने को सौंपा है अर्थात् यही काम जो मैं करता हूँ, वे मेरे गवाह हैं, कि पिता ने मुझे भेजा है। BSB BSB: But I have testimony more substantial than that of John. For the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish—the very works I am doing—testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.
37 ULB और पिता जिस ने मुझे भेजा है, उसी ने मेरी गवाही दी है: तुम ने न कभी उसका शब्द सुना, और न उसका रूप देखा है; BSB BSB: And the Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form,
38 ULB और उसके वचन को मन में स्थिर नहीं रखते, क्योंकि जिसे उसने भेजा तुम उस पर विश्वास नहीं करते। BSB BSB: nor does His word abide in you, because you do not believe the One He sent.
39 ULB तुम पवित्रशास्त्र में ढूँढ़ते* हो, क्योंकि समझते हो कि उसमें अनन्त जीवन तुम्हें मिलता है, और यह वही है, जो मेरी गवाही देता है; BSB BSB: You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me,
40 ULB फिर भी तुम जीवन पाने के लिये मेरे पास आना नहीं चाहते। BSB BSB: yet you refuse to come to Me to have life.
41 ULB मैं मनुष्यों से आदर नहीं चाहता। BSB BSB: I do not accept glory from men,
42 ULB परन्तु मैं तुम्हें जानता हूँ, कि तुम में परमेश्वर का प्रेम नहीं। BSB BSB: but I know you, that you do not have the love of God within you.
43 ULB मैं अपने पिता के नाम से आया हूँ, और तुम मुझे ग्रहण नहीं करते; यदि कोई और अपने ही नाम से आए, तो उसे ग्रहण कर लोगे। BSB BSB: I have come in My Father’s name, and you have not received Me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will receive him.
44 ULB तुम जो एक दूसरे से आदर चाहते हो और वह आदर जो एकमात्र परमेश्वर की ओर से है, नहीं चाहते, किस प्रकार विश्वास कर सकते हो? BSB BSB: How can you believe if you accept glory from one another, yet do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
45 ULB यह न समझो, कि मैं पिता के सामने तुम पर दोष लगाऊँगा, तुम पर दोष लगानेवाला तो है, अर्थात् मूसा है जिस पर तुम ने भरोसा रखा है। BSB BSB: Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, in whom you have put your hope.
47 ULB परन्तु यदि तुम उसकी लिखी हुई बातों पर विश्वास नहीं करते, तो मेरी बातों पर क्यों विश्वास करोगे?” BSB BSB: But since you do not believe what he wrote, how will you believe what I say?”
