1 PBBR Satiap sok da pacaya bahwa Yesus anilah Kristus tusak umpatn Jabata; ge satiap sok da ngasihi Bapa, uga ngasihi anak da tusak umpatn Bapa. BSB BSB: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves those born of Him.

3 PBBR Karna diahlah kasih Jabata, bahwa ite menaati parintah-parintah-A'; ge parintah-parintah-A' katilah bahat. BSB BSB: For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,
4 PBBR Sabab, jaipun da tusak umpatn Jabata ngalah a' dunia; ge anilah kamenangan da laka ngalah a' dunia: iman ite. BSB BSB: because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
5 PBBR Asilah da ngalah a' dunia kalo inya ni' da pacaya bahwa Yesus anilah Anak Jabata? BSB BSB: Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
6 PBBR Ini' diahlah da utukng nige' pait ge dayya: Yesus Kristus; inya hanya nige' paitn, melain a' nige' paitn ge dayya. Rohlah da bersaksi karna Roh dakohlah kabenaran. BSB BSB: This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 PBBR Sebab, ani taru da bersaksi ka surga: BSB BSB: For there are three that testify:
8 PBBR Roh, paitn, ge darah; ge kataru a' dakoh anilah nyungan. BSB BSB: the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are in agreement.
9 PBBR Jika ite narima kesaksian talino, kesaksian Jabata lebih kuat. Sabab, kesaksian da Jabata mangkatn anilah kesaksian tentang anak-A.' BSB BSB: Even if we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony that God has given about His Son.
10 PBBR Sok da pacaya ka anak Jabata umpu kesaksian dakoh ka sadatn adup a'. Sok da ti pacaya ka Jabata laka umas-A' jadi nyungan sok panipu karna sok dakoh kati pacaya ka kesaksian da Jabata mangkat a' tentang Anak-A.' BSB BSB: Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.
12 PBBR Satiap sok da umpu Sang Anak umpu idup; satiap sok da kati umpu Anak Jabata kati umpu idup. BSB BSB: Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
14 PBBR Ge, diahlah da ite umpu ka hadapan Ini', yaitu jika ite mahe jai pun da sasuai nige' kahandak-A', ni' dangah ite. BSB BSB: And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 PBBR Ge', jika ite pane ni' dangah ite, jai pun da ite mahe, ite pane bahwa ite ngalaka umpu pamohonan da ngalaka ite mahe umpat-A.' BSB BSB: And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
16 PBBR Jika ani sok da mile age a' umas duse da kati gat'n ngadu ka pangkabis, baitlah sok dakoh mahe, ge' Jabata ao' mangkat a' idup ka sok da umas duse da kati gat'n ngadu a' ka pangkabis dakoh. Namun, ani nyeteng duse da gat'n ngadu a' ka pangkabis a'; iko' kati nyansana bahwa ni' arus mansikatnyak duse dakoh. BSB BSB: If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.
17 PBBR Samaan da kati batol anilah duse, tatapi ani duse da kati gat'n ngadu a' ka pangkabis a.' BSB BSB: All unrighteousness is sin, yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
18 PBBR Ite pane bahwa satiap da tusak umpatn Jabata kati umas duse, tatapi Ni' da tusak umpatn Jabata ngalindung a' ge' si jahe' kati nyentuh a'. Ite pane bahwa ite barasal umpatn Jabata, ge' samaan dunia madi sadatn kuasa si jahe.' BSB BSB: We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
19 PBBR Kita tahu bahwa kita berasal dari Allah, dan seluruh dunia berada dalam kuasa si Jahat BSB BSB: We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
20 PBBR Ge', ite pane bahwa Anak Jabata ngalaka utukng ge' ngalaka mangkat pangertian ka ite supaya ite kaat nganal Ini' da batol; ge' ite ani ka sadatn Ini' da batol, sadatn Anak-A', Yesus Kristus. Ini'lah Jabata da batol ge' idup da kakal. BSB BSB: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21 PBBR Anak-anakko', gat'n ngajauhlah adupmu umpatn berhala-berhala. BSB BSB: Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
