Now therefore, listen to the words of the LORD.

BSB BSB: Now go and attack the Amalekites and devote to destruction all that belongs to them. Do not spare them, but put to death men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

Otherwise I will sweep you away with them.” So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.

They were unwilling to devote them to destruction, but they devoted to destruction all that was despised and worthless.

BSB BSB: And Samuel said, “Although you were once small in your own eyes, have you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel
18 ULB പിന്നെ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ഒരു ദൗത്യം ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു:“നീ ചെന്ന് അമാലേക്യരായ പാപികളെ നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കുകയും അവർ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവരോട് പൊരുതുകയും ചെയ്യുക” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. BSB BSB: and sent you on a mission, saying, ‘Go and devote to destruction the sinful Amalekites. Fight against them until you have wiped them out.’
19 ULB അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ നീ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന അനുസരിക്കാതിരുന്നതെന്തുകൊണ്ടു്? നീ കവർച്ച വസ്തുക്കളുടെ മേൽ ചാടി വീണ് യഹോവയ്ക്ക് അനിഷ്ടമായത് ചെയ്തതെന്ത്?” BSB BSB: So why did you not obey the LORD? Why did you rush upon the plunder and do evil in the sight of the LORD?”
20 ULB ശൗൽ ശമൂവേലിനോട്:“ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന അനുസരിച്ച് യഹോവ എന്നെ അയച്ച വഴിക്കു പോയി. അമാലേക് രാജാവായ ആഗാഗിനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അമാലേക്യരെ നിർമ്മൂലമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: “But I did obey the LORD,” Saul replied. “I went on the mission that the LORD gave me. I brought back Agag king of Amalek and devoted the Amalekites to destruction.

BSB BSB: But Samuel declared: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obedience to His voice? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams.

Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”
24 ULB ശൗൽ ശമൂവേലിനോട്:“ഞാൻ ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെട്ട് അവരുടെ വാക്ക് അനുസരിച്ചതിനാൽ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനയും നിന്റെ വാക്കും ലംഘിച്ച് പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. BSB BSB: Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned; I have transgressed the LORD’s commandment and your instructions, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

26 ULB ശമൂവേൽ ശൗലിനോട്:“ഞാൻ വരില്ല; നീ യഹോവയുടെ വചനത്തെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ നിന്നെയും യിസ്രായേലിലെ രാജസ്ഥാനത്തുനിന്ന് തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.” BSB BSB: “I will not return with you,” Samuel replied. “For you have rejected the word of the LORD, and He has rejected you as king over Israel.”

30 ULB അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: “ഞാൻ പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും മുമ്പിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്നെ മാനിച്ച്, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ആരാധിക്കേണ്ടതിന് എന്നോടുകൂടെ വരണമേ” എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു. BSB BSB: “I have sinned,” Saul replied. “Please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me, so that I may worship the LORD your God.”
31 ULB അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേൽ ശൗലിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; ശൗൽ യഹോവയെ ആരാധിച്ചു. BSB BSB: So Samuel went back with Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD.
32 ULB അപ്പോൾ ശമൂവേൽ:“അമാലേക് രാജാവായ ആഗാഗിനെ ഇവിടെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. ആഗാഗ് സന്തോഷത്തോടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: “മരണഭീതി നീങ്ങിപ്പോയി” എന്ന് ആഗാഗ് പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: And to the day of his death, Samuel never again visited Saul. Samuel mourned for Saul, and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.
