3 ULB നാവ് ആഹാരത്തിന്റെ രുചിനോക്കുന്നു; ചെവിയോ വചനങ്ങളെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു; BSB BSB: For the ear tests words as the mouth tastes food.
4 ULB ന്യായമായുള്ളത് നമുക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാം; നന്മയായുള്ളത് നമുക്കുതന്നെ ആലോചിച്ചറിയാം. BSB BSB: Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.
5 ULB ‘ഞാൻ നീതിമാൻ, ദൈവം എന്റെ ന്യായം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ ന്യായത്തിനെതിരെ ഞാൻ ഭോഷ്ക്ക് പറയണമോ? BSB BSB: For Job has declared, ‘I am righteous, yet God has deprived me of justice.
6 ULB ലംഘനം ഇല്ലാതിരുന്നിട്ടും എന്റെ മുറിവ് സുഖമാകുന്നില്ല’ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ. BSB BSB: Would I lie about my case? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’
7 ULB ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ ആരെങ്കിലുമുണ്ടോ? അവൻ പരിഹാസത്തെ വെള്ളംപോലെ കുടിക്കുന്നു; BSB BSB: What man is like Job, who drinks up derision like water?
8 ULB അവൻ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരോട് കൂട്ടുകൂടുന്നു; ദുർജ്ജനങ്ങളോടുകൂടി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു. BSB BSB: He keeps company with evildoers and walks with wicked men.
9 ULB ‘ദൈവത്തോട് നിരപ്പായിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് മനുഷ്യന് പ്രയോജനമില്ലെന്ന്’ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. BSB BSB: For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight in God.’
10 ULB അതുകൊണ്ട് വിവേകികളേ, കേട്ടുകൊള്ളുവിൻ; ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടതയോ സർവ്വശക്തൻ അനീതിയോ ഒരിക്കലും ചെയ്യുകയില്ല. BSB BSB: Therefore listen to me, O men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wrong, and from the Almighty to act unjustly.
11 ULB അവൻ മനുഷ്യന് അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയ്ക്ക് പകരം ചെയ്യും; ഓരോരുത്തനും അവനവന്റെ നടപ്പിന് തക്കവണ്ണം കൊടുക്കും. BSB BSB: For according to a man’s deeds He repays him; according to a man’s ways He brings consequences.
12 ULB ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയില്ല, നിശ്ചയം; സർവ്വശക്തൻ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയുകയുമില്ല. BSB BSB: Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly, and the Almighty does not pervert justice.
13 ULB ഭൂമിയെ ദൈവത്തിൽ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചതാര്? ഭൂമണ്ഡലമാകെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാര്? BSB BSB: Who gave Him charge over the earth? Who appointed Him over the whole world?
14 ULB അവിടുന്ന് തന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ മാത്രം ദൃഷ്ടിവച്ചെങ്കിൽ തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെയും ശ്വാസത്തെയും മടക്കി എടുത്തെങ്കിൽ BSB BSB: If He were to set His heart to it and withdraw His Spirit and breath,
15 ULB സകലജഡവും ഒരുപോലെ നശിച്ചുപോകും; മനുഷ്യൻ മണ്ണിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിച്ചേരും. BSB BSB: all flesh would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
16 ULB നിനക്ക് വിവേകമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഇത് കേട്ടുകൊള്ളുക; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക; BSB BSB: If you have understanding, hear this; listen to my words.
17 ULB ന്യായത്തെ വെറുക്കുന്നവൻ ഭരിക്കുമോ? നീതിമാനും ബലവാനുമായവനെ നീ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുമോ? BSB BSB: Could one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and mighty One,
18 ULB രാജാവിനോട്: ‘നീ വഷളൻ എന്നും’ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോട്: ‘നിങ്ങൾ ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ’ എന്നും പറയുമോ? BSB BSB: who says to kings, ‘You are worthless!’ and to nobles, ‘You are wicked,’
19 ULB അവൻ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ പക്ഷം എടുക്കുന്നില്ല; ദരിദ്രനെക്കാൾ ധനവാനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവരെല്ലാവരും തൃക്കൈയുടെ സൃഷ്ടിയാണല്ലോ. BSB BSB: who is not partial to princes and does not favor rich over poor? For they are all the work of His hands.
20 ULB പെട്ടെന്ന് അർദ്ധരാത്രിയിൽ തന്നെ അവർ മരിക്കുന്നു; ജനം നടുങ്ങി ഒഴിഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നു; മനുഷ്യന്റെ കൈ തൊടാതെ ബലശാലികൾ നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു. BSB BSB: They die in an instant, in the middle of the night. The people convulse and pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand.
21 ULB ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴികളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നടപ്പെല്ലാം അവിടുന്ന് കാണുന്നു. BSB BSB: For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees his every step.
22 ULB ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാർക്ക് ഒളിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവിടെ ഇരുട്ടുമില്ല അന്ധതമസ്സുമില്ല. BSB BSB: There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
23 ULB മനുഷ്യൻ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന് അവിടുന്ന് അവനിൽ അധികം ദൃഷ്ടിവയ്ക്കുവാൻ ആവശ്യമില്ല. BSB BSB: For God need not examine a man further or have him approach for judgment.
24 ULB വിചാരണ ചെയ്യാതെ അവിടുന്ന് ബലശാലികളെ തകർത്തുകളയുന്നു; അവർക്ക് പകരം വേറെ ആളുകളെ നിയമിക്കുന്നു. BSB BSB: He shatters the mighty without inquiry and sets up others in their place.
25 ULB അങ്ങനെ അവിടുന്ന് അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അറിയുന്നു; രാത്രിയിൽ അവരെ തള്ളിയിട്ടിട്ട് അവർ തകർന്നുപോകുന്നു. BSB BSB: Therefore, He recognizes their deeds; He overthrows them in the night and they are crushed.
26 ULB മറ്റുള്ളവർ കാൺകെ അവിടുന്ന് അവരെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. BSB BSB: He strikes them for their wickedness in full view,
27 ULB എളിയവരുടെ നിലവിളി അവിടുത്തെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തുവാനും പീഡിതന്മാരുടെ നിലവിളി അവിടുന്ന് കേൾപ്പാനും വേണ്ടി BSB BSB: because they turned aside from Him and had no regard for any of His ways.
28 ULB അവർ ദൈവത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് പിന്മാറിക്കളയുകയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വഴികളെ ഗണ്യമാക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ. BSB BSB: They caused the cry of the poor to come before Him, and He heard the outcry of the afflicted.
29 ULB വഷളനായ മനുഷ്യൻ ഭരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ജനത്തെ കുടുക്കുവാൻ ആരും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും-+ BSB BSB: But when He remains silent, who can condemn Him? When He hides His face, who can see Him? Yet He watches over both man and nation,
30 ULB അവിടുന്ന് സ്വസ്ഥത നൽകിയാൽ ആര് കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും? ഒരു ജാതിക്കായാലും ഒരാൾക്കായാലും അവിടുത്തെ മുഖം മറച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ ആര് അവിടുത്തെ കാണും? BSB BSB: that godless men should not rule or lay snares for the people.
31 ULB ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷ സഹിച്ചു; ഞാൻ ഇനി കുറ്റം ചെയ്യുകയില്ല; BSB BSB: Suppose someone says to God, ‘I have endured my punishment; I will offend no more.
32 ULB ഞാൻ കാണാത്തത് എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിക്കണമേ; ഞാൻ അന്യായം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഇനി ചെയ്യുകയില്ല എന്ന് ആരെങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തോട് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടോ? BSB BSB: Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do it again.’
33 ULB നീ മുഷിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് അവിടുന്ന് നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പകരം ചെയ്യണമോ? ഞാനല്ല, നീ തന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ; ആകയാൽ നീ അറിയുന്നത് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക. BSB BSB: Should God repay you on your own terms when you have disavowed Him? You must choose, not I; so tell me what you know.
34 ULB ഇയ്യോബ് അറിവില്ലാതെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കുകളിലും ജ്ഞാനമില്ല എന്ന് വിവേകമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരും BSB BSB: Men of understanding will declare to me, and the wise men who hear me will say:
35 ULB എന്റെ വാക്ക് കേൾക്കുന്ന ഏത് ജ്ഞാനിയും എന്നോട് പറയും. BSB BSB: ‘Job speaks without knowledge; his words lack insight.’
36 ULB ഇയ്യോബ് ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ പ്രതിവാദിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവനെ ആദിയോടന്തം പരിശോധിച്ചാൽ കൊള്ളാം. BSB BSB: If only Job were tried to the utmost for answering like a wicked man.
37 ULB അവൻ തന്റെ പാപത്തോട് ദ്രോഹം ചേർക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നമ്മുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ കൈ കൊട്ടുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന് വിരോധമായി വാക്ക് വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.” BSB BSB: For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us and multiplies his words against God.”
