4 PBA Uhang nang nyakap “Aku mengenal Tuan Allah” tapi kok taat be'k pe'he'ndah-NYa, be'mak ananya uhang itu pe'ngakal hal nang be'ne, h kok ade' be'k de'lam die'. BSB BSB: If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

7 PBA Se'de'ha-se'de'ha yg terkasih, aku kok nulis pe'he'ndah be'hu be'k mika, tapi pe'he'ndah lama yang lah lama ade' be'k mika. Pe'he'ndah lamanya yaitu Firman nang agi dulu mika te'nge'ng. BSB BSB: Beloved, I am not writing to you a new commandment, but an old one, which you have had from the beginning. This commandment is the message you have heard.
8 PBA Tapi aku juge' te'ngah nulis pe'he'ndah be'hu ndok mika, yang be'ne'h be'k de'lam Die', juge' de'lam mika khana nang ge'le'p lah be'le'lu. Te'hang nang se'be'ne, hnya be'de'lau. Aku nulis be'k mika oi uhang-uhang mude', khana mika kuat juge firman Allah tinge'l be'k de'lam mika dan mika de'pat ngalah si Jeet. BSB BSB: I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15 PBA Je'ngan lah mika cinda ne'nie' ika atou apa nang ade' be'k de'lam ne'nie'. Kalau ade' uhang cinda dengan ne'nie', kasih Bapa kok ade' bek de'lam die'. BSB BSB: Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 PBA Khana, semua nang ade' be'k de'lam ne'nie' yaitu ke'he'nah ati, ke'he'nah mata, dan hidup nang sombong, asalnya buke'n agi Bapa tapi agi ne'nie' ika. BSB BSB: For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world.
17 PBA Ne'nie' ika te'ngah le'nyap bersama dengan ke'he'nahnya, tapi uhang nang nge'he'jen ke'nak ati Tuan Allah akan hidup slaman-slamanya. BSB BSB: The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever.
18 PBA Anak-anakku, je'm ika je'man akhir; macam yang lah mika te'nge, ng be'he'snya Anti Kristus nak de'tang, jem iko pun banyak anti Kristus lah detang, agi situ ah kita tau itu be'he'sanya ika je'man akhir. BSB BSB: Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour.
20 PBA Apa bela mika lah ade' pengurapan agi Yang Kudus juge' mika tau semuanya. BSB BSB: You, however, have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.
21 PBA Aku nulis iko be'k mika bukan khana mika be'lom tau nang be'ne, h, tapi khana mikalah tau, uhang kok ade pengakal nang asalnya agi nang be'ne, h. BSB BSB: I have not written to you because you lack knowledge of the truth, but because you have it, and because no lie comes from the truth.
23 PBA Sapa saje" nang kok ngaku “Anak” kok punya Bapa. Tapi apabe'la tiap uhang ngaku Anak, die juge punya Bapa. BSB BSB: Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father, but whoever confesses the Son has the Father as well.

Apa be'la nang lah mika te'nge, ng agi dulu lah tinge'l be'k dalam mika, mika pon akan tetap tingel be de'lam Bapa dan Anak. BSB BSB: As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father.
25 PBA Ika ah jenyi yang de' be'hinya be'k kita yaitu idup Kekal. BSB BSB: And this is the promise that He Himself made to us: eternal life.
26 PBA Semua hal nang aku tulis be'k mika ika, terkait sanggut paud dengan uhang, yang nak mue't mika kelihu. BSB BSB: I have written these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you.

BSB BSB: And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.
28 PBA Je'm ika, anak-anakku, diam ah be'k de'lam Die' jadi kalau Die' nunjuk dihi, kita ka yaken, kok malu be"k de'pan Die pade' sa'at pas Die' datang sagi. BSB BSB: And now, little children, remain in Christ, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming.
29 PBA Kalau mika tau be'he'sanya Die'tu be'nah, mika juge' tau kalau tiap uhang nang be'buat nang be'ne, h, lae, h agi Die.' BSB BSB: If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.
