1 UDB निस्तार-चाड सुरु हुनु भन्दा छ दिन पहिले येशू बेथानियाीमा आउनुभयो। तिनको मृत्यु भएपछि येशूले मृत्युबाट जीवित पार्नुभएको मानिस लाजरस त्यही बेथानिया गाउँमा बस्थे। BSB BSB: Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, the hometown of Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
2 UDB त्यहाँ बेथानियामा येशूको सम्मानमा तिनीहरूले एउटा रात्री भोजन दिए। मार्थाले भोजन तयार पार्ने काम गरिन्, र सँगै बसेर खाँदै गरेकाहरूका माझमा लाजरस पनि थिए। BSB BSB: So they hosted a dinner for Jesus there. Martha served, and Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with Him.

5 UDB “हामीले यो अत्तरलाई तीनसय दिनको ज्याला बराबरमा बेचेको भए र पैसा गरीबहरूलाई दिएको भए हुन्थ्यो।” BSB BSB: “Why wasn’t this perfume sold for three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor?”
6 UDB गरीब मानिसहरूको बारेमा वस्ता गरेको कारणले उसले यसो भनेको थिएन, तर ऊ एउटा चोर भएको कारणले थियो। उहाँहरूको पैसा भएको झोला उसैले बोक्थ्यो, तर जब उसलाई मन लाग्थ्यो तब उसको आफ्नै प्रयोगको लागि उसले पैसा झिक्थ्यो। BSB BSB: Judas did not say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money bag, he used to take from what was put into it.

9 UDB यरूशलेममा भएका यहूदीहरूको एउटा ठुलो भिडले येशू बेथानियामा हुनुहुन्छ भनी सुने, यसैले तिनीहरू त्यहाँ गए। येशू त्यहाँ हुनुभएको कारणले मात्र होइन तर येशूले जीवित पार्नुभएको लाजरसलाई हेर्न पनि तिनीहरू त्यहाँ गए। BSB BSB: Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews learned that Jesus was there. And they came not only because of Him, but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.
10 UDB त्यसपछि मुख्य पुजारीहरूले लाजरसलाई पनि मार्नु आवश्यक छ भन्ने निर्णय गरे। BSB BSB: So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well,
11 UDB किनकि तिनको कारणले यहूदीहरूमध्ये धेरैजनाले मुख्य पुजारीहरूले सिकाएका शिक्षामा विश्वास गर्न छोड्दै थिए; त्यसको साटो, तिनीहरूले आफ्नो विश्वास येशूमा राख्दै थिए। BSB BSB: for on account of him many of the Jews were deserting them and believing in Jesus.
12 UDB अर्को दिन निस्तार-चाडको निम्ति आएको एउटा ठुलोै भिडले येशू येरुशलेमतर्फ आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने सुने। BSB BSB: The next day the great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.
13 UDB यसैले तिनीहरूले खजुरको रूखका हाँगाहरू काटे र उहाँ सहरमा आउनुहुँदा उहाँलाई स्वागत गर्न गए। तिनीहरू ठुलो स्वरले कराउँदै थिए, “होसन्ना! परमेश्वरको प्रशंसा होस्! इस्राएलका राजालाई स्वागत छ!” BSB BSB: They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!”
14 UDB जब येशू यरूशलेमको नजिकै आउनुभयो, तब उहाँले गधाको एउटा बछेडा भेट्टाउनुभयो र त्यसमाथि बसेर सहरतिर अघि बढ्नुभयो। यसो गरेर उहाँले धर्मशास्त्रमा जे लेखिएको थियो पुरा गर्नुभयो: BSB BSB: Finding a young donkey, Jesus sat on it, as it is written:
15 UDB “तिमी, यरूशलेममा बस्नेहरू नडराओ! हेर! तिम्रा राजा आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँ गधाको बछेडा माथि बसेर आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ!” BSB BSB: “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion. See, your King is coming, seated on the colt of a donkey.”
16 UDB यो घट्ना हुँदा, अगमवाणी पुराभयो भनेर उहाँका चेलाहरूले बुझ्न सकेनन्। तापनि, येशूले आफ्नो काम सक्नु भएपछि र परमेश्वरको रूपमा उहाँले आफ्नो पुरा शक्ति फेरि प्राप्त गरेपछि, अगमवक्ताहरूले उहाँको बारेमा के लेखेका थिए र मानिसहरूले उहाँलाई के गरे भनी तिनीहरूले पछि फर्केर हेरे, र याद गरे। BSB BSB: At first His disciples did not understand these things, but after Jesus was glorified they remembered what had been done to Him, and they realized that these very things had also been written about Him.
17 UDB येशूसँगै पछि हिंड्दै गरेको ठुलो भिडले तिनीहरूले जे देखेका थिए त्यो अरूहरूलाई भनिरहे: येशूले लाजरसलाई चिहानबाट बाहिर बोलाउनुभयो र तिनलाई फेरि जीवित पार्नुभयो। BSB BSB: Meanwhile, many people who had been with Jesus when He called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to testify.
18 UDB सहरको ढोकाबाट बाहिर येशूलाई भेट्न गएका मानिसहरूका अरू भीडले यसो गरे, किनभने तिनीहरूलाई आफ्नो शक्ती देखाउनालाई उहाँले महान कुराहरू गर्नुभएको थियो भनी तिनीहरूले सुने। BSB BSB: That is also why the crowd went out to meet Him, because they heard that He had performed this sign.
19 UDB यसैले फरिसीहरूले एक आपसमा भने, “हेर! हामीहरूलाई यहाँ कुनै फाइदा भइराखेको छैन। हेर! सारा संसार उसकै पछि लाग्दै छ!” BSB BSB: Then the Pharisees said to one another, “You can see that this is doing you no good. Look how the whole world has gone after Him!”
20 UDB निस्तार-चाडको बेलामा यरूशलेममा गएकाहरूमध्ये कोही ग्रिकहरू थिए। BSB BSB: Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the feast.
21 UDB तिनीहरू फिलिपकहाँ आए जो गालील जिल्लाको बेथसेदाका थिए। तिनीहरूले उनलाई केही कुरा सोध्नुपर्ने थियो; तिनीहरूले भने, “सर, के हामीलाई येशूसँग परिचय गराई दिनुहुन्छ?” BSB BSB: They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”
22 UDB यसैले फिलिपले यो कुरा बताए र तिनीहरू दुवैजना गए र येशूलाई भने। BSB BSB: Philip relayed this appeal to Andrew, and both of them went and told Jesus.
23 UDB येशूले फिलिप र अन्द्रियासलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “यो म, मानिसको पुत्रले गरेका सबै कुरा परमेश्वरले मानिसहरूलाई देखाउने र मैले भनेका सबै कुरा तिनीहरूलाई भन्ने समय हो। BSB BSB: But Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 UDB म तिमीहरूलाई सत्य भन्दै छु: जबसम्म एउटा गहुँको बीऊ माटोमा रोपिएको हुँदैन र त्यो मर्दैन तबसम्म, त्यो बीऊ एउटै मात्र रहन्छ; तर त्यो जमिनमा मरेपछि, त्यो बढ्ने छ र धेरै बीउहरूको खेती उत्पादन हुने छ। BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
26 UDB यदि कसैले मेरो सेवा गर्न चाहन्छ भने, ऊ मेरो पछि लाग्नै पर्छ किनभने म जहाँ हुन्छु मेरो सेवक त्यहीँ हुनुैपर्छ। मेरो सेवा गर्ने हरेकलाई पिताले आदर गर्नुहुने छ। BSB BSB: If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
27 UDB यतिबेला मेरो प्राण असाध्ये दु:खित छ। के मैले भन्नु, ‘पिता, मलाई यो समयबाट बचाउनुहोस् जतिबेला मैले दुख भोग्ने छु र मर्ने छु’? हुँदैन, यही कारणले नै म यस संसारमा आएँ। BSB BSB: Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? No, it is for this purpose that I have come to this hour.
28 UDB मेरो पिता, तपाईंले भन्नुभएका सबै कुरामा, तपाईंले गर्नुभएका सबै काममा र तपाईं जो हुनुहुन्छ त्यसमा तपाईं कति शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ, देखाउनुहोस्!” यतिबेला स्वर्गबाट परमेश्वर बोल्नुभयो, “मेरो स्वभाव, मेरा वचनहरू र मेरा कामहरू मैले यसअघि नै देखाएको छु; र म त्यो फेरि गर्ने छु!” BSB BSB: Father, glorify Your name!” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”
29 UDB त्यहाँ भएका भिडले परमेश्वरको आवाज सुने। तर कसैले भने यो केवल गर्जन मात्र हो। अरूहरूले भने एउटा स्वर्गदूतले येशूसँग बोलेका थिए। BSB BSB: The crowd standing there heard it and said that it had thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to Him.
30 UDB येशूले तिनीहरूलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “तिमीहरूले सुनेको यो बोलेको आवाज परमेश्वरको आवाज थियो। तापनि, उहाँले मेरो होइन तर तिमीहरूको फाइदाको निम्ति बोल्नुभयो! BSB BSB: In response, Jesus said, “This voice was not for My benefit, but yours.
31 UDB यतिबेला परमेश्वरको निम्ति संसारको न्याय गर्ने समय हो। यतिबेला उहाँले शैतान, यस संसारको शासकलाई बाहिर फ्याँक्नुहुने समय हो। BSB BSB: Now judgment is upon this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out.
32 UDB मेरो बारेमा, जब मानिसहरूले मलाई क्रुसमा माथि उचाल्ने छन्, म हरेकलाई आफैँतिर खिच्ने छु।” BSB BSB: And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw everyone to Myself.”
33 UDB उहाँको मृत्यु कसरी हुन्छ भनी मानिसहरूलाई थाहा दिनलाई उहाँले यसो भन्नुभयो। BSB BSB: He said this to indicate the kind of death He was going to die.
34 UDB भिडमा भएका कसैले उहाँलाई जवाफ दियो, “धर्मशास्त्रबाट हामीले बुझ्दछौं कि ख्रीष्ट सदासर्वदा जीउनुहुने छ। यसैले तपाईं किन भन्नुहुन्छ कि मानिसको पुत्र मर्ने छ? यो ‘मानिसको पुत्र’ को हो?” BSB BSB: The crowd replied, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain forever. So how can You say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”
35 UDB येशूले जवाफ दिनुभयो, “मेरो ज्योति अलिबेरसम्म तिमीहरूमा चम्कने छ। मेरो ज्योति तिमीहरूसँग हुँदासम्म ज्योतिमा हिंड, अन्यथा अन्धकारले तिमीहरूलाई कब्जा गर्ने छ। अन्धकारमा हिंड्नेहरूले आफू कहाँ जाँदै छन् देख्न सक्दैनन्!” BSB BSB: Then Jesus told them, “For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.
36 UDB तिमीहरूसित ज्योति हुँदा त्यो ज्योतिमा विश्वास गर; त्यसपछि तिमीहरू ज्योतिका सन्तान हुने छौ। उहाँले यी कुरा भनेपछि, येशूले तिनीहरूलाई छोड्नुभयो र तिनीहरूबाट लुक्नुभयो। BSB BSB: While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of light.” After Jesus had spoken these things, He went away and was hidden from them.
37 UDB येशूले धेरै आश्चर्य कामहरू गर्नुभए तापनि, उहाँले जे भन्नुभएको थियो त्यसमा धेरैजसो मानिसहरूले ाविश्वास गरेनन्। BSB BSB: Although Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still did not believe in Him.
38 UDB यशैया अगमवक्ताले धेरै पहिले जे लेखेका थिए त्यो पुरा हुनलाई यसो भयो: “परमप्रभु, हामीबाट तिनीहरूले सुनेका कुनै कुरा कसले विश्वास गरेका छ? कसरी उहाँले हामीलाई शक्तिशाली रूपले छुटकारा दिन सक्नु हुन्छ भनी परमप्रभुले हामीलाई देखाउनु भएको छ!” BSB BSB: This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
39 UDB तपनि, तिनीहरूले उहाँमा विश्वास गर्न सकेनन् कारण यशैयाले लेखेका थिए: BSB BSB: For this reason they were unable to believe. For again, Isaiah says:
40 UDB “परप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई देख्न नसक्ने बनाउनु भएको छ, र उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई हठी बनाउनु भएको छ; तिनीहरू आफ्ना आँखाले पनि देख्न सक्दैनन्, यदि तिनीहरूले देखे, तिनीहरूले बुझ्ने थिए; तिनीहरूले पश्चताप गर्ने थिए र तिनीहरूलाई क्षमा गर्न मसँग प्रार्थना गर्ने थिए। यो कारणले, म तिनीहरूलाई निको पार्न सक्दिन!” BSB BSB: “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.”
41 UDB यशैयाले ती वचनहरू धेरै पहिले लेखे किनभने ख्रीष्टले शक्तिशाली रूपले परमेश्वरको सेवा गर्नुहुन्छ भनी तिनले बुझे। BSB BSB: Isaiah said these things because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.
42 UDB यद्यपि, यहुदी मानिसहरूका अगुवाहरूमध्ये धेरैले येशूमा आफ्नो विश्वास राखेको कुरा साँचो थियो। तापनि, फरिसीहरूले तिनीहरूलाई सभाघरहरूबाट बाहिर निकाल्छन् भनी तिनीहरू धेरै डराए, यसैले येशूमा विश्वास गरिरहेको कुरा तिनीहरूले बाहिर भनेनन्। BSB BSB: Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue.
43 UDB परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूका निम्ति गर्नुहुने प्रशंसा भन्दा अरू मानिसहरूबाट तिनीहरूले पाउने प्रशंसा र आदर तिनीहरूले रोजे। BSB BSB: For they loved praise from men more than praise from God.
44 UDB त्यहाँ भेला भएका भिडलाई येशूले कराउनु भयो, “जसले ममा आफ्नो विश्वास राख्छन् तिनीहरूले आफ्नो विश्वास ममा मात्र राखेका हुँदैनन् तर मलाई पठाउनु हुने पितामा पनि आफ्नो विश्वास राखेका हुन्छन्। BSB BSB: Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me alone, but in the One who sent Me.
45 UDB जब तिमीहरूले जसरी मलाई देख्छौ, तिमीहरूले मलाई पठाउनु हुनेलाई देख्दै छौ। BSB BSB: And whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me.
46 UDB म संसारको ज्योतिको रूपमा संसारमा आएको छु; जसले आफ्नो विश्वास ममा राख्छ त्यो अन्धकारमा रहने छैन। BSB BSB: I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.
47 UDB जसले मेराो वचनहरू सुन्छन् तर मेरो आज्ञा अस्वीकार गर्छन् म तिनीहरूको न्याय गर्दिन। संसारलाई दोषी ठहराउन म संसारमा आइन। BSB BSB: As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 UDB तापनि, त्यहाँ केही कुरा छ जसले मलाई तिरष्कार गर्नेहरू र मेरो शन्देस नमान्नेहरूलाई दोषी ठहराउने छ। मैले तिनीहरूसँग बोलेको शन्देसद्वारा नै तिनीहरू दोषी ठहरिएका छन्। BSB BSB: There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words: The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.
49 UDB मैले परमेश्वरको बारेमा सिकाउँदा, मैले जे सोचेँ त्यो मात्र भन्दै थिइन। मैले के भन्नुपर्छ र त्यो मैले कसरी भन्नुपर्छ भन्ने बारेमा मलाई पठाउनुहुने पिताले मलाई स्पष्ट शिक्षाहरू दिनुभयो। BSB BSB: I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it.
50 UDB म यो जान्दछु कि पिताका सबभन्दा महत्त्वपूर्ण शिक्षाहरूले मानिसहरूलाई कसरी सदासर्वदा जीउने भनी सिकाउँछन्, र मेरो पिताले मलाई जे भन्न लगाउनु भएको छ त्यो मैले जस्ताको तस्तै भनेको छु। BSB BSB: And I know that His command leads to eternal life. So I speak exactly what the Father has told Me to say.”
