2 UDB “सुन! मेरो सन्देशवाहक म तिम्रो अघि पठाउँदैछु। उनले तिमीलाई स्वागत गर्न मानिसहरू तयार गर्नेछन्। BSB BSB: As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way.”
3 UDB उजाड-स्थानमा उनले आवाज सुन्ने जतिलाई उनले बोलाउनेछन्, ‘परमप्रभुलाई स्वागत गर्न आफैँलाई तयार पार।’” BSB BSB: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
4 UDB यशैयाले लेखेका सन्देशवाहक यूहन्ना थिए। मानिसहरूले उनलाई “बप्तिस्मा दिने” भन्दथे। यूहन्ना उजाड-स्थानमा थिए; उनले मानिसहरूलाई बप्तिस्मा दिंदै र यसो भन्दै थिए, “तिमीहरूले पाप गरेका छौ भनेर दुःखी होओ र यो नगर्ने निर्णय गर ता कि परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई क्षमा गर्नुहुनेछ। त्यसपछि म तिमीहरूलाई बप्तिष्मा दिनेछु।” BSB BSB: John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
5 UDB यहूदियाको जिल्ला र यरूशलेम सहरबाट मानिसहरूको ठूलो संख्या यूहन्नाले प्रचार गरेको सुन्नलाई उजाड-स्थानमा गए। तिनको प्रचार सुन्नेहरूमध्ये धेरैजनाले आफूले पाप गरेको कुरालाई स्वीकार गरे। त्यसपछि यूहन्नाले तिनीहरूलाई यर्दन नदीमा बप्तिस्मा दिए। BSB BSB: People went out to him from all of Jerusalem and the countryside of Judea. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
6 UDB यूहन्नाले ऊँटको रौंबाट बनेका खस्रा कपडाहरू लगाउँथे र आफ्नो कम्मरमा छालाको पटुका बाँध्थे। उनले त्यस उजाड-स्थानको इलाकामा पाउने सलह र मह खान्थे। BSB BSB: John was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
7 UDB उनले प्रचार गर्दै थिए, “चाँडै नै एकजना आउनुहुनेछ जो अति महान हुनुहुन्छ। उहाँको तुलनामा म केही पनि होइन। म निहुरिन र उहाँका जुत्ता फुकाल्न पनि योग्यको छैन। BSB BSB: And he proclaimed: “After me will come One more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
8 UDB मैले तिमीहरूलाई पानीले बप्तिस्मा दिएँ, तर उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई पवित्र आत्माले बप्तिस्मा दिनुहुनेछ।” BSB BSB: I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
9 UDB यूहन्नाले प्रचार गर्दै गरेको समयमा, गालील जिल्लाको नासरत नगरबाट येशू आउनुभयो। यूहन्नाले प्रचार गर्दै गरेको ठाउँमा उहाँ जानुभयो र यूहन्नाले उहाँलाई यर्दन नदीमा बप्तिस्मा दिए। BSB BSB: In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 UDB येशू पानीबाट बाहिर माथि आउनेबत्तिकै, उहाँले स्वर्ग खुला भएको र परमेश्वरको आत्मा उहाँमाथि ओर्लंदै गर्नुभएको देख्नुभयो। परमेश्वरको आत्मा एउटा ढुकुरझैं तल आउनुभयो। BSB BSB: As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, He saw the heavens breaking open and the Spirit descending on Him like a dove.
11 UDB परमेश्वरले स्वर्गबाट बोल्नुभयो र भन्नुभयो “तिमी मेरा पुत्र हौ, जसलाई म अति प्रेम गर्छु। म तिमीसँग धेरै खुशी छु।” BSB BSB: And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
12 UDB त्यसपछि परमेश्वरको आत्माले येशूलाई उजाड-स्थानमा पठाउनुभयो। BSB BSB: At once the Spirit drove Jesus into the wilderness,
13 UDB उहाँ चालीस दिनसम्म त्यहाँ रहनुभयो। त्यो समयमा शैतानले उहाँको परीक्षा गर्दै थियो। त्यो ठाउँमा जंगली जनावरहरू थिए र स्वर्गदूतहरूले उहाँको रखदेख गर्दै थिए। BSB BSB: and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.
15 UDB उहाँ भन्दै हुनुहुन्थ्यो, “आखिरमा समय आएको छ। परमेश्वरले चाँडै नै देर्शाउनुहुनेछ कि उहाँ राजा हुनुहुन्छ। तिमीहरूले पाप गरेकोमा दुःखी होओ र त्यो नगर्ने निर्णय गर ता कि परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई क्षमा दिन सक्नुहुन्छ। सुसमाचार विश्वास गर।” BSB BSB: “The time is fulfilled,” He said, “and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel!”
16 UDB एकदिन, येशू गालील समुद्रको किनारमा हिंड्दै गर्नुहुँदा, उहाँले दुईजना मानिसहरू, सिमोन र सिमोनको भाइ अन्द्रियासलाई देख्नुभयो। तिनीहरूले आफ्ना माछा पक्रने जाललाई समुद्रमा हान्दै थिए। माछा पक्रेर र बेचेर तिनीहरूले पैसा कमाउँथे। BSB BSB: As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17 UDB त्यसबेला येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “जस्तो तिमीहरूले माछाहरू जम्मा गरिरहेका छौ, मसँग आओ र मानिसहरू कसरी जम्मा गर्ने हो सो म तिमीहरूलाई सिकाउनेछु।” BSB BSB: “Come, follow Me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
18 UDB तुरुन्तै तिनीहरूले आफ्ना जालहरू छाडे र तिनीहरू उहाँसँग गए। BSB BSB: And at once they left their nets and followed Him.
20 UDB येशूले तिनीहरूलाई देख्ने बित्तिकै उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई आफुसँग आउनलाई बोलाउनुभयो। यसैले तिनीहरूले आफ्ना बुबालाई छोडे जो ज्यालाका सेवकहरूसँग डुंगामा नै रहे र तिनीहरू येशूसँग गए। BSB BSB: Immediately Jesus called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.
22 UDB उहाँले सिकाउनुभएको तरीका देखेर तिनीहरू आश्चर्यचकित भए। आफूले जानेको कुरामा भरोसा गर्ने शिक्षकले झैं उहाँले सिकाउनुभयो। यहूदी व्यवस्था सिकाउनेहरूले झैं उहाँले सिकाउनुभएन, जसले अरू मानिसहरूले सिकाएका विभिन्न कुराहरू दोहर्याउँथे। BSB BSB: The people were astonished at His teaching, because He taught as one who had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 UDB येशूले सिकाउनुभएको सभाघरमा, दुष्ट आत्माले अधीन गरेको एकजना मानिस थियो। दुष्ट आत्मा भएको मानिस कराउन सरु गर्यो, BSB BSB: Suddenly a man with an unclean spirit cried out in the synagogue:
24 UDB “ए! नासरतका येशू! हामी दुष्ट आत्माहरूको तपाईंसँग केही सरोकार छैन! के तपाईं हामीलाई नाश गर्न आउनुभएको छ? तपाईं को हुनुहुन्छ म चिन्दछु। तपाईं परमेश्वरबाट आउनुभएको पवित्र जन हुनुहुन्छ!” BSB BSB: “What do You want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 UDB येशूले यसो भन्दै दुष्ट आत्मालाई हप्काउनुभयो, “चुप लाग र त्यसबाट बाहिर आइज!” BSB BSB: But Jesus rebuked the spirit. “Be silent!” He said. “Come out of him!”
26 UDB दुष्ट आत्माले त्यस मानिसलाई लडाउने गरी हल्लायो। त्यो ठूलो स्वरले चिच्यायो, र तब त्यो मानिसबाट ऊ निस्क्यो र छोड्यो। BSB BSB: At this, the unclean spirit threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud shriek.
27 UDB त्यहाँ भएका सबै मानिसहरू अचम्ममा परे। परिणामस्वरूप, तिनीहरूले यसो भन्दै आफ्नो माझमा छलफल गरे, “यो अचम्मलाग्दो छ! यिनले नयाँ र अधिकारपूर्ण तरीकाले सिकाउने मात्र हैन, तर यिनले दुष्ट आत्माहरूलाई आज्ञा पनि दिन्छन् र तिनीहरूले उनको आज्ञा मान्छन्!” BSB BSB: All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”
28 UDB येशूले जे गर्नुभएको थियो त्यसका बारेमा मानिसहरूले चाँडै नै गालील जिल्लाको सम्पूर्ण इलाकामा भएका धेरै अरूहरूलाई भने। BSB BSB: And the news about Jesus spread quickly through the whole region of Galilee.
30 UDB सिमोनको सासू ओछ्यानमा पल्टिरहेकी थिइन् किनभने तिनलाई उच्च ज्वरो थियो। तुरुन्तै कसैले तिनी बिरामी छन् भनी येशूलाई भने। BSB BSB: Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.
31 UDB येशू तिनीकहाँ जानुभयो, तिनको हात समाउनुभयो, र तिनलाई उठ्न मद्दत गर्नुभयो। तिनले तुरुन्तै ज्वरोबाट छुटकारा पाइन् र उहाँहरूको सेवा गर्न सुरु गरिन्। BSB BSB: So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.
33 UDB यो हेर्दा त्यो नगरमा बसोबास गर्ने हरेक व्यक्ति नै सिमोनको घरको ढोकामा जम्मा भएझैं लाग्थ्यो। BSB BSB: and the whole town gathered at the door.
34 UDB विभिन्न रोगहरूले बिरामी परेका मनिसहरूलाई येशूले निको पार्नुभयो। उहाँले धेरै दुष्ट आत्माहरूलाई मानिसहरूबाट बाहिर आउनलाई शक्ति लगाउनुभयो। उहाँले दुष्ट आत्माहरूलाई आफ्नो बारेमा मनिसहरूलाई भन्ने अनुमति दिनुभएन, किनभने उहाँ परमेश्वरबाट आउनुभएको पवित्र जन हुनुहुन्छ भनी तिनीहरू जान्दथे। BSB BSB: And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
35 UDB अर्को बिहान येशू सबेरै उज्यालो हुनुभन्दा अघि नै उठ्नुभयो। उहाँले घर छोड्नुभयो र नगरबाट टाढा जानुभयो जहाँ मनिसहरू थिएनन्। तब उहाँले प्रार्थना गर्नुभयो। BSB BSB: Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary place to pray.
36 UDB सिमोन र तिनका मित्रहरूले उहाँलाई खोजे। BSB BSB: Simon and his companions went to look for Him,
37 UDB जब तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई भेट्टाए, तिनीहरूले भने, “नगरमा भएका हरेकले तपाईंलाई खोज्दैछन्।” BSB BSB: and when they found Him, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!”
38 UDB उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “हामीहरू छिमेकी नगरहरूमा जानु आवश्यक छ जसले गर्दा मैले त्यहाँ पनि प्रचार गर्न सक्छु। यसैकारणले म यहाँ आएँ।” BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”
39 UDB यसैले उहाँहरू गालीलभरि जानुभयो। उहाँहरू जाँदै गर्दा, येशूले सभाघरहरूमा सिकाउनुहुन्थ्यो र दुष्ट आात्माहरूलाई मानिसहरूबाट निस्कन शक्ति लगाउनुहुन्थ्यो। BSB BSB: So He went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
41 UDB उसलाई देखेर येशूलाई दया लाग्यो। उहाँले आफ्नो हात बढाउनुभयो र त्यस मानिसलाई छुनुभयो। त्यसपछि उहाँले त्यसलाई भन्नुभयो, “म तिमीलाई निको पार्ने इच्छा गर्छु, निको होऊ!” BSB BSB: Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”
42 UDB तुरुन्तै त्यो मानिस निको भयो! ऊ फेरि कुष्ठरोगी भएर रहेन। BSB BSB: And immediately the leprosy left him, and the man was cleansed.
43 UDB यैशूले त्यस मानिसलाई पठाउनुहुँदा उहाँले त्यसलाई चेतावनी दिनुभयो। BSB BSB: Jesus promptly sent him away with a stern warning:
44 UDB उहाँले भन्नुभयो, “जे भएको छ त्यो कसैलाई नभन। बरु, पुजारीकहाँ जाऊ र तिनले तिम्रो जाँच गरून् भनी आफैँलाई तिनीकहाँ देखाऊ। त्यसपछि कुष्ठरोगबाट निको भएका मानिसहरूलाई मोशाले दिएको आज्ञाको बली चढाउ। यो समुदायलाई गवाही हुनेछ कि तिमी निको भएका छौ।” BSB BSB: “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45 UDB त्यो मानिसले येशूको सुझाव मानेन। येशूले कसरी त्यसलाई निको पार्नुभएको भयो भनी त्यसले धेरै मानिसहरूलाई भन्न सुरु गर्यो। परिणामस्वरूप, येशू नगरहरूमा खुलमखुला जान सक्नुभएन किनभने मानिसहरूका भीडहरू उहाँको वरिपरि जम्मा भइहाल्थे। बरु, उहाँ नगरहरू बाहिर निर्जन ठाउँहरूमा रहनुभयो। तर मानिसहरू वरपरका सबै क्षेत्रबाट मानिसहरू उहाँकहाँ आइरहे। BSB BSB: But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter.
