1 UDB ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରନ୍ତି ଯୀଶୁ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ହିଁ ଅଟନ୍ତି ସେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ ଅଟନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଜାତ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ପିତାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରନ୍ତି ସେମାନେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଜାଣନ୍ତୁ କି ପିତା ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves those born of Him.
2 UDB ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରୁ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାକୁ ପାଳନ କରୁ, ସେତେବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ କରିପାରୁ କି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରିପାରୁ I BSB BSB: By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 UDB ମୁଁ ଏହା କହୁଅଛି, କାରଣ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରେମ କରିବାର ବାସ୍ତବ ଅର୍ଥ, ଯାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ କହୁ ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ କରୁ I ତାଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞା ପାଳନ କରିବା କଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ I BSB BSB: For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,
4 UDB ଅବିଶ୍ଵାସୀମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଯାହା କରିବାକୁ ଚାହାଁନ୍ତି I ଆମ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଯାହାକୁ ଈଶ୍ଵର ନିଜର ସନ୍ତାନ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ଡାକିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେ ସବୁ କରିବାକୁ ମନା କରିପାରନ୍ତ I ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ବିଷୟ ଉପରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ବଳବାନ ଅଟୁ I ମନ୍ଦ କାମ କରିବାକୁ ମନା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସକ୍ଷମ ଅଟୁ କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟଙ୍କଠାରେ ଭରସା ରଖିଅଛୁ I BSB BSB: because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
5 UDB ସେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି କିଏ ଯେ ପରମେଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିବା ଶକ୍ତିଠାରୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ବଳବାନ୍? ସେ ସେହି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଯିଏ ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରେ ଯୀଶୁ ପରମେଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଅଟନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
6 UDB ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ଚିନ୍ତା କର I ସେ ସେହି, ଯିଏ ପରମେଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପୃଥିବୀକୁ ଅସିଥିଲେ I ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ମୃତ୍ୟୁରେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ତାଙ୍କ ଶରୀରରୁ ରକ୍ତଧାର ବହିଗଲା ସେତେବେଳେ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ଯେ ସେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଥିଲେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଯୋହନ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ପାଣିରେ ବାପ୍ତିସ୍ମ ଦେଉଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ମଧ୍ୟ ଈଶ୍ଵର ତାହା ଦେଖାଇଲେ I ଯୀଶୁ ଯେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ ଏହା ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମା ଘୋଷଣା କଲେ I BSB BSB: This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 UDB ଏହି ତିନୋଟି ବିଷୟ ତିନି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଇଥିଲେ I BSB BSB: For there are three that testify:
8 UDB ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା, ବଳ ଓ ରକ୍ତ ସେହି ଗୋଟିଏ କଥା କହନ୍ତି I ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ଦ୍ଵାରା ବାପ୍ତିସ୍ମ ନେବା ସମୟରେ ଥିବା ପାଣି ଓ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଶରୀରରୁ ବୋହୁଥିବା ରକ୍ତ ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେ କ୍ରୁଶ ବିଦ୍ଧ ହେଉଥିଲେ I ଏହି ତିନୋଟି ବିଷୟ ଏହି କଥା କହେ କି ଯୀଶୁ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ I BSB BSB: the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are in agreement.
9 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଲୋକଙ୍କର କଥା ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରୁ, ମାତ୍ର ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ କଥା ଅଧିକରୂପେ ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରୁ I ଏବଂ ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: Even if we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony that God has given about His Son.
10 UDB ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କଠାରେ ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ବିଷୟରେ ସତ୍ୟତା ନିଜ ହୃଦୟରେ ଅନୁଭବ କରନ୍ତି I ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁମାନେ ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ସେମାନେ ମିଥ୍ୟାବାଦୀ, କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କ ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟକୁ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରନ୍ତି I BSB BSB: Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.
12 UDB ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କ ସହଭାଗିତାରେ ଆମେ ଅନନ୍ତ କାଳ ବଞ୍ଚିବା, ନଚେତ୍ ଅନନ୍ତ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଭୋଗିବା I BSB BSB: Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
14 UDB ଯେହେତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ମିଳିତ ଅଛୁ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ରହୁକି ସେ ଆମର ଶୁଣନ୍ତି ଓ ଯାହା ମାଗୁ ତାହା ପାଇଅଛୁ ତାହା ସେ ଦେବେ I BSB BSB: And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 UDB ମଧ୍ୟ, ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ କି ସେ ଆମର ଶୁଣନ୍ତି- ଯାହାଭି ଆମ୍ଭେ ମାଗିଥାଉ- ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସୁଶ୍ଚିତ ରହୁ କି ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାଇବା ତାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ମାଗିଥାଉ I BSB BSB: And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
16 UDB ଉଦାହରଣ ସ୍ଵରୂପେ ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭେ ଦେଖୁ ଜଣେ ବିଶ୍ଵାସୀ ଭାଇ ଏକ ପାପ କରିଅଛି ଯାହା ତାହାକୁ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅଲଗା କରିବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମଧ୍ୟ ତାହାକୁ ପାପ କରିବାରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଖ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରିବା ଓ ମାଗିବା ଦରକାର ଯେପରି ଈଶ୍ଵର ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଜୀବନ ଦେବେ I କିନ୍ତୁ ଏପରି ଲୋକ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଏପ୍ରକାର ପାପ କରନ୍ତି ଯାହା ପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ସବୁଦିନ ପାଇଁ ଅଲଗା କରିଦେବ I ମୁଁ ଏହି ପରି କହୁ ନାହିଁ କି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେପରି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର I BSB BSB: If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.
17 UDB ଯେକୌଣସି ମନ୍ଦ ବିଷୟ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ ଅଟେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଖରାପ କର୍ମ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଚିରକାଳ ଅଲଗା କରି ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ I BSB BSB: All unrighteousness is sin, yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
18 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ କି ଯଦି କିଏ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ ଅଟେ, ସେ ବାରମ୍ବାର ପାପ କରିପାରେ ନାହିଁ I କିନ୍ତୁ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ରକ୍ଷା କରନ୍ତି ଶୟତାନ, ପାପ ଆତ୍ମା ତାହା କ୍ଷତି କରି ପାରିବନି I BSB BSB: We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
19 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କର ଅଟୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ମଧ୍ୟ ଜାଣୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଜଗତ ପାପ ଆତ୍ମାର ଅଧିନରେ ଅଛି I BSB BSB: We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
20 UDB ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ମଧ୍ୟ ଜାଣୁ ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟକୁ ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସତ୍ୟକୁ ବୁଝିବା ପାଇଁ ସକ୍ଷମ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଆମ୍ଭେ ସତ୍ୟର ସହ ଏକ ସଙ୍ଗ ହୋଇଅଛୁ ତାହା ଈଶ୍ଵରଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯୀଶୁ ଅଟନ୍ତି I ଯୀଶୁ ସତ୍ୟ ଈଶ୍ଵର ଅଟନ୍ତି ଓ ସେ ସେହି ଯାହାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ଵାରା ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଆମ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଅଛି I BSB BSB: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21 UDB ହେ ପ୍ରିୟମାନେ, ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କର କୌଣସି କ୍ଷମତା ନାହିଁ ସେ ପ୍ରକାର ଦେବତାଠାରୁ(ପ୍ରତିମା)ନିଜ ନିଜକୁ ରକ୍ଷା କର I BSB BSB: Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
