1 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖ, ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ କିୟୀଲା ନଗର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରି ଖଳାରୁ ଶସ୍ୟ ଲୁଟୁଅଛନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: Now it was reported to David, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and looting the threshing floors.”
2 ULB ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ଦାଉଦ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରି କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ଯାଇ କି ଏହି ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କରିବି? ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଯାଅ, ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଘାତ କରି କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କର। BSB BSB: So David inquired of the LORD, “Should I go and attack these Philistines?” And the LORD said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
3 ULB ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏ ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶରେ ଭୟ କରୁଅଛୁ; ଯେବେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟଗଣ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଯିବା, ତେବେ କେତେ ଅଧିକ ଭୟ ନ କରିବା? BSB BSB: But David’s men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah; how much more if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”
4 ULB ତେଣୁ ଦାଉଦ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ପଚାରିଲେ। ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, ଉଠ, କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଯାଅ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା। BSB BSB: Once again, David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD answered him: “Go at once to Keilah, for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
5 ULB ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଯାଇ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କଲେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପଶୁଗଣକୁ ନେଇଗଲେ ଓ ମହାସଂହାରରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂହାର କଲେ। ଏହିରୂପେ ଦାଉଦ କିୟୀଲା ନିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲେ। BSB BSB: Then David and his men went to Keilah, fought against the Philistines, and carried off their livestock, striking them with a mighty blow. So David saved the people of Keilah.
6 ULB ଯେତେବେଳେ ଅହୀମେଲକ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର ଅବୀୟାଥର କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ କତିକି ପଳାଇ ଆସିଥିଲା, ସେତେବେଳେ ଏକ ଏଫୋଦ ହାତରେ ନେଇ ଆସିଥିଲା। BSB BSB: (Now Abiathar son of Ahimelech had brought the ephod with him when he fled to David at Keilah.)
7 ULB ପୁଣି, ଦାଉଦ କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଆସିଅଛି ବୋଲି ଶାଉଲଙ୍କୁ କୁହାଯାଆନ୍ତେ, ଶାଉଲ କହିଲେ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତାହାକୁ ମୋ’ ହସ୍ତରେ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଯେହେତୁ ସେ ଦ୍ୱାର ଓ ଅର୍ଗଳବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ନଗରରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବା ହେତୁରୁ ଅବରୁଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇଅଛି। BSB BSB: When Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, he said, “God has delivered him into my hand, for he has trapped himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”
8 ULB ଏଥିରେ କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଯାଇ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଘେରିବା ପାଇଁ ଶାଉଲ ଆପଣାର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଯୁଦ୍ଧକୁ ଡକାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: Then Saul summoned all his troops to go to war at Keilah and besiege David and his men.
9 ULB ପୁଣି, ଦାଉଦ ଜାଣିଲେ ଯେ, ଶାଉଲ ତାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିକୂଳରେ ମନ୍ଦ କଳ୍ପନା କରିଅଛନ୍ତି; ଏଣୁ ସେ ଅବୀୟାଥର ଯାଜକକୁ କହିଲେ, ଏଠାକୁ ଏଫୋଦ ଆଣ। BSB BSB: When David learned that Saul was plotting evil against him, he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the ephod.”
10 ULB ତେବେ ଦାଉଦ କହିଲେ, ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ଶାଉଲ କିୟୀଲାକୁ ଆସି ମୋ’ ସକାଶେ ସେହି ନଗର ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦାସ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ରୂପେ ଶୁଣିଅଛି। BSB BSB: And David said, “O LORD, God of Israel, Your servant has heard that Saul intends to come to Keilah and destroy the city on my account.
11 ULB କିୟୀଲା ନିବାସୀମାନେ କ’ଣ ମୋତେ ତାଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପି ଦେବେ? ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦାସ ଯେପରି ଶୁଣିଅଛି, ସେପରି କ’ଣ ଶାଉଲ ଆସିବେ? ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର, ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ଆପଣା ଦାସକୁ ଏହା ଜଣାଅ। ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଲେ, ସେ ଆସିବ। BSB BSB: Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as Your servant has heard? O LORD, God of Israel, please tell Your servant.” “He will,” said the LORD.
12 ULB ତେବେ ଦାଉଦ କହିଲେ, କିୟୀଲା ନିବାସୀମାନେ ମୋତେ ଓ ମୋ’ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କ’ଣ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବେ? ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଲେ, ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବେ। BSB BSB: So David asked, “Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul?” “They will,” said the LORD.
13 ULB ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଊଣାଧିକ ଛଅ ଶହ ଲୋକ ଉଠି କିୟୀଲାରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲେ ଓ ଯେଉଁଠାକୁ ଯାଇ ପାରିଲେ, ସେଠାକୁ ଗଲେ। ଏଥିରେ ଦାଉଦ କିୟୀଲାରୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇଅଛି ବୋଲି ଶାଉଲଙ୍କୁ କୁହାଗଲା; ତେଣୁ ସେ ଯିବାରୁ କ୍ଷାନ୍ତ ହେଲେ। BSB BSB: Then David and his men, about six hundred strong, set out and departed from Keilah, moving from place to place. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he declined to go forth.
14 ULB ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ନାନା ଦୁର୍ଗମ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବାସ କରି ସୀଫ୍ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ପର୍ବତମୟ ଦେଶରେ ରହିଲେ। ପୁଣି, ଶାଉଲ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ତାଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କଲେ, ମାତ୍ର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତାଙ୍କୁ ତାଙ୍କ ହାତରେ ଦେଲେ ନାହିଁ। BSB BSB: And David stayed in the wilderness strongholds and in the hill country of the Wilderness of Ziph. Day after day Saul searched for him, but God would not deliver David into his hand.
15 ULB ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ଜାଣିଲେ ଯେ, ଶାଉଲ ତାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରାଣ ନେବା ପାଇଁ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି; ସେସମୟରେ ଦାଉଦ ସୀଫ୍ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ବଣରେ ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: While David was in Horesh in the Wilderness of Ziph, he saw that Saul had come out to take his life.
16 ULB ଏଣୁ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋନାଥନ ଉଠି ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ କତିକି ବଣକୁ ଗଲା ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କଠାରେ ତାଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ସବଳ କଲା। BSB BSB: And Saul’s son Jonathan came to David in Horesh and strengthened his hand in God,
17 ULB ପୁଣି, ସେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ଭୟ ନ କର; କାରଣ ମୋର ପିତା ଶାଉଲଙ୍କର ହସ୍ତ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜା ହେବ ଓ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ହେବି; ଏହା ମଧ୍ୟ ମୋର ପିତା ଶାଉଲ ଜାଣନ୍ତି। BSB BSB: saying, “Do not be afraid, for my father Saul will never lay a hand on you. And you will be king over Israel, and I will be your second-in-command. Even my father Saul knows this is true.”
18 ULB ଏଥିରେ ସେ ଦୁହେଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ନିୟମ କଲେ; ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦ ବଣରେ ବାସ କଲେ ଓ ଯୋନାଥନ ଆପଣା ଘରକୁ ଗଲା। BSB BSB: So the two of them made a covenant before the LORD. And David remained in Horesh, while Jonathan went home.
19 ULB ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ସୀଫୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଗିବୀୟାକୁ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ କତିକି ଆସି କହିଲେ, ଦାଉଦ କ’ଣ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମରୁଭୂମିର ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଦିଗସ୍ଥ ହଖୀଲା ପର୍ବତର ବଣରେ ନାନା ଦୁର୍ଗମ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଲୁଚି ରହି ନାହିଁ? BSB BSB: Then the Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah and said, “Is not David hiding among us in the strongholds at Horesh, on the hill of Hachilah south of Jeshimon?
20 ULB ଏହେତୁ ହେ ମହାରାଜ, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଆଗମନର ସମସ୍ତ ମନୋବାଞ୍ଛାନୁସାରେ ଆସନ୍ତୁ, ପୁଣି, ମହାରାଜଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ତାହାକୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା ଭାର ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର। BSB BSB: Now, O king, come down whenever your soul desires, and we will be responsible for delivering him into your hand.”
21 ULB ତହୁଁ ଶାଉଲ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦର ପାତ୍ର; କାରଣ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋ’ ପ୍ରତି କୃପା କଲ। BSB BSB: “May you be blessed by the LORD,” replied Saul, “for you have had compassion on me.
22 ULB ମୁଁ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଇ ଆହୁରି ସ୍ଥିର କର ଓ କେଉଁଠାରେ ତାହାର ଖୋଜ ପଡ଼ିଅଛି, କିଏ ତାହାକୁ ସେଠାରେ ଦେଖିଅଛି, ଏହା ବୁଝି ଦେଖ; କାରଣ ମୋତେ କୁହାଯାଇଅଛି ଯେ, ସେ ଅତି ସତର୍କ ହୋଇ ଚଳୁଅଛି। BSB BSB: Please go and prepare further. Investigate and watch carefully where he goes and who has seen him there, for I am told that he is extremely cunning.
23 ULB ଏହେତୁ ଯେ ଯେ ଲୁଚିବା ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସେ ଆପଣାକୁ ଲୁଚାଏ, ସେସବୁ ଦେଖି ବୁଝ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋ’ କତିକି ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଫେରି ଆସ, ତହିଁରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଯିବି; ସେ ଯେବେ ଦେଶରେ ଥାଏ, ତେବେ ମୁଁ ଯିହୁଦାର ସମୁଦାୟ ସହସ୍ର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତାହାକୁ ଖୋଜିବି। BSB BSB: Observe and find out all the places where he hides. Then come back to me with certainty, and I will go with you. If he is in the land, I will search him out among all the clans of Judah.”
24 ULB ତହୁଁ ସେମାନେ ଉଠି ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ଆଗେ ସୀଫ୍କୁ ଗଲେ; ସେତେବେଳେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ମରୁଭୂମିର ଦକ୍ଷିଣସ୍ଥିତ ପଦାରେ ମାୟୋନ୍ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: So they set out and went to Ziph ahead of Saul. Now David and his men were in the Wilderness of Maon in the Arabah south of Jeshimon,
25 ULB ଏଣୁ ଶାଉଲ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଖୋଜିବାକୁ ଗଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଏହା ଜଣାନ୍ତେ, ସେ ଶୈଳକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆସି ମାୟୋନ୍ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ରହିଲେ। ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାଉଲ ତାହା ଶୁଣି ମାୟୋନ୍ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇଲେ। BSB BSB: and Saul and his men went to seek him. When David was told about it, he went down to the rock and stayed in the Wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard of this, he pursued David there.
26 ULB ପୁଣି, ଶାଉଲ ପର୍ବତର ଏକ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱକୁ ଗଲେ, ଆଉ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ଅନ୍ୟ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱକୁ ଗଲେ; ତହୁଁ ଦାଉଦ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ଭୟରୁ ପଳାଇବାକୁ ଚଞ୍ଚଳ ହେଲେ; କାରଣ ଶାଉଲ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଧରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ଘେରିଥିଲେ। BSB BSB: Saul was proceeding along one side of the mountain, and David and his men along the other side. Even though David was hurrying to get away, Saul and his men were closing in on David and his men to capture them.
27 ULB ଏପରି ସମୟରେ ଜଣେ ଦୂତ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସି କହିଲା, ଶୀଘ୍ର ଆସନ୍ତୁ; କାରଣ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଦେଶ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେଣି। BSB BSB: Then a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly, for the Philistines have raided the land!”
28 ULB ତହୁଁ ଶାଉଲ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ ଗୋଡ଼ାଇବାରୁ ଫେରି ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯାତ୍ରା କଲେ; ଏଣୁ ସେମାନେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନର ନାମ ସେଲା-ହମ୍ମହଲିକୋତ୍ (ବିଭାଗକାରୀ ଶୈଳ) ରଖିଲେ। BSB BSB: So Saul broke off his pursuit of David and went to meet the Philistines. That is why that place is called Sela-hammahlekoth.
29 ULB ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଯାଇ ଐନଗଦୀସ୍ଥ ଦୁର୍ଗମ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବାସ କଲେ। BSB BSB: And David went up from there and lived in the strongholds of En-gedi.
