What a miserable task God has laid upon the sons of men to occupy them!
14 ULB Efa hitako avokoa ny asa rehetra izay natao teo ambany masoandro, ary indro, izy rehetra ireo dia entona mihavosa sy fikasàna ny hanohitra ny rivotra. BSB BSB: I have seen all the things that are done under the sun, and have found them all to be futile, a pursuit of the wind.
15 ULB Ny meloka dia tsy mety hahitsy! Ny tsy tonga tsy azo isaina! BSB BSB: What is crooked cannot be straightened, and what is lacking cannot be counted.
16 ULB Niteny tamin'ny foko aho nanao hoe: "Indro, izaho dia nahazo fahendrena lehibe noho ireo rehetra izay talohako tany Jerosalema. Ny saiko dia nahita fahendrena sy fahalalana lehibe." BSB BSB: I said to myself, “Behold, I have grown and increased in wisdom beyond all those before me who were over Jerusalem, and my mind has observed a wealth of wisdom and knowledge.”
17 ULB Koa nampiasa ny foko aho mba hahalala fahendrena sy fahaverezan-tsaina ary hadalana ihany koa. Tonga aho mba hahatakatra fa fikasàna ny hanohitra ny rivotra ihany koa izany. BSB BSB: So I set my mind to know wisdom and madness and folly; I learned that this, too, is a pursuit of the wind.
18 ULB Fa amin'ny fitobahan'ny fahendrena no mampisy fahoriana be, ary izay mampitombo fahalalana dia mampitombo alahelo. BSB BSB: For with much wisdom comes much sorrow, and as knowledge grows, grief increases.
