Every head is shaved, every beard is cut off.
3 ULB Mitafy lamba fisaonana izy ireo eny amin'ireo lalan'izy ireo; midradradradra eo amin'ny tampon-trano sy eny an-kianja ny tsirairay, ketraky ny tomany. BSB BSB: In its streets they wear sackcloth; on the rooftops and in the public squares they all wail, falling down weeping.
4 ULB Miantso vonjy i Hesbona sy i Elale; re hatrany Jahaza ny feon'izy ireo. Ka miantso vonjy ireo lehilahin'i Moaba mitam-piadiana; mangovitra ao anatin'izy ireo ihany izy ireo. BSB BSB: Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voices are heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore the soldiers of Moab cry out; their souls tremble within.
5 ULB Mitomany ho an'i Moaba ny foko; mandositra ho any Zoara sy Egleta-selisia ireo mpandosiny. Miakatra any amin'ny fiakaran'i Lonita am-pitomaniana izy ireo; midradradradra mafy ny amin'ny fahasimbany amin'ny lalana ho any Horonaima izy ireo. BSB BSB: My heart cries out over Moab; her fugitives flee as far as Zoar, as far as Eglath-shelishiyah. With weeping they ascend the slope of Luhith; they lament their destruction on the road to Horonaim.
6 ULB Ritra ireo ranon'i Nimrima; malazo ireo ahitra ary maty ireo ahi-baovao; tsy misy na inona na inona maitso. BSB BSB: The waters of Nimrim are dried up, and the grass is withered; the vegetation is gone, and the greenery is no more.
7 ULB Izay rehetra nampitomboiny sy nangonin'izy ireo dia nentin'izy ireo any an-dohasahan-driakan'ireo hazomalahelo. BSB BSB: So they carry their wealth and belongings over the Brook of the Willows.
8 ULB Nanerana ny faritanin'i Moaba ny tomany; hatrany Eglaima sy Ber-elima ny fidradradradrana. BSB BSB: For their outcry echoes to the border of Moab. Their wailing reaches Eglaim; it is heard in Beer-elim.
9 ULB Fa feno rà ireo ranon'i Dimona; fa mbola bebe kokoa no ho entiko amin'i Dimona. Hanafika izay tafatsoaka avy ao Moaba sy ireo sisa tavela eo amin'ny tany ny liona. BSB BSB: The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon—a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.
