Proverbs 28 (ULB)

1Mandositra ny ratsy fanahy raha tsy misy olona manenjika azy akory, fa ny olo-marina dia sahy tahaka ny liona tanora.The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

3Ny olona mahantra izay mampahory olona mahantra hafa dia toy ny orana mivatravatra izay tsy mamela hanina.A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.

4Ireo izay mahafoy ny lalàna dia midera olona ratsy fanahy, fa ireo izay mitandrina ny lalàna dia hiady amin'izy ireo.Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them.

5Ny olon-dratsy dia tsy mahatakatra ny rariny, fa ireo izay mitady an'i Yaveh no mahatakatra ny zava-drehetra.Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD comprehend fully.

6Tsara kokoa ho an'ny olona mahantra ny mandeha amin'ny fahitsiana, noho ny ho an'ny olona mpanankarena izay meloka amin'ny lalany.Better a poor man who walks with integrity than a rich man whose ways are perverse.

7Izay mitandrina ny lalàna no zanaka manana fahazavan-tsaina, fa izay naman'ny tendan-kanina mahamenatra ny rainy.A discerning son keeps the law, but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.

8Izay mihary ny hareny amin'ny zana-bola be loatra dia manangona ny hareny ho an'ny hafa izay hanam-piantrana amin'ny olona mahantra.He who increases his wealth by interest and usury lays it up for one who is kind to the poor.

9Raha misy olona mamily ny sofiny tsy hihaino ny lalàna, na ny fivavahany aza maharikoriko.Whoever turns his ear away from hearing the law, even his prayer is detestable.

10Na iza na iza mamily lalana ny mahitsy amin'ny lalàn-dratsy dia hilatsaka ao amin'ny lavany ihany, fa ny tsy misy tsiny no hanana lova tsara.He who leads the upright along the path of evil will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will inherit what is good.

11Ny olona manan-karena dia mety ho hendry eo imasony ihany, fa ny olona mahantra izay manana fahazavan-tsaina no hahita azy.A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man with discernment sees through him.

14Ho tahiana izay miaina amin'ny fanehom-panajana mandrakariva, fa izay rehetra manamafy ny fony dia ho tra-pahoriana.Blessed is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

15Tahaka ny liona mierona na bera miremby ny mpanapaka ratsy fanahy eo amin'ny olona mahantra.Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.

16Ny mpanapaka tsy ampy fahazavan-tsaina dia mpampahory lozabe, fa izay mankahala ny tsy fahamarinana no hampitombo ny androny.A leader who lacks judgment is also a great oppressor, but he who hates dishonest profit will prolong his days.

17Raha meloka ny olona iray satria nandatsaka ràn'olona, dia ho mpitsoa-ponenana mandra-pahafatiny izy ary tsy hisy olona hamonjy azy.A man burdened by bloodguilt will flee into the Pit; let no one support him.

18Na iza na iza mandeha amin'ny fahitsiana dia ho arovana, fa ilay iray izay mandeha amin'ny lala-meloka no ho lavo tampoka.He who walks with integrity will be kept safe, but whoever is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.

19Izay miasa ny taniny dia hanana hanina maro, fa na iza na iza manaraka ny zava-poana dia hahazo fahantrana be.The one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

20Ny olona mahatoky dia hanana fitahiana lehibe, fa izay malaky mahazo harena dia tsy ho afa-maina.A faithful man will abound with blessings, but one eager to be rich will not go unpunished.

21Tsy tsara ny maneho fiangarana, fa ho an'ny sombi-mofo no hanaovan'ny olona ny tsy mety.To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.

22Ny olona kahihitra dia manenjika harena faingana, saingy tsy fantany fa ny fahantrana no ho tonga eo aminy.A stingy man hastens after wealth and does not know that poverty awaits him.

23Na iza na iza mananatra olona, dia hahita sitraka bebe kokoa avy aminy noho ny avy amin'ny ilay iray izay mandoka azy amin'ny lelany aorian'izany.He who rebukes a man will later find more favor than one who flatters with his tongue.

24Na iza na iza mandroba ny rainy sy ny reniny ary miteny hoe: "Tsy fahotana izany," dia naman'ilay iray izay manimba izy.He who robs his father or mother, saying, “It is not wrong,” is a companion to the man who destroys.

25Ny olona tsy mahonon-tena manetsika fifandirana, fa izay matoky an'i Yaveh no hambinina.A greedy man stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.

26Izay matoky ny fony ihany dia adala, fa na iza na iza mandeha am-pahendrena dia handositra ny loza.He who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.

27Izay manome ny mahantra dia tsy ho ory na inona na inona, fa na iza na iza mihirim-belona amin'izy ireo dia handray ozona be dia be.Whoever gives to the poor will not be in need, but he who hides his eyes will receive many curses.

28Rehefa mitsangana ny olona ratsy fanahy, dia miafina ny olona, fa ny olona ratsy fanahy dia ho foana, ary hitombo ny olo-marina.When the wicked come to power, people hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous flourish.
