Proverbs 15 (ULB)

1சாந்தமான பதில் கடுங்கோபத்தை அடக்கும்; கடுஞ்சொற்களோ கோபத்தை எழுப்பும்.A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2ஞானிகளின் நாவு அறிவை உபயோகப்படுத்தும்; மூடர்களின் வாயோ புத்தியீனத்தைக் கக்கும்.The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.

3கர்த்தரின் கண்கள் எந்த இடத்திலுமிருந்து, நல்லவர்களையும், தீயவர்களையும் நோக்கிப்பார்க்கிறது.The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.

4ஆரோக்கியமுள்ள நாவு ஜீவமரம்; நாவின் மாறுபாடோ ஆவியை நொறுக்கும்.A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

5மூடன் தன்னுடைய தகப்பனுடைய புத்தியை அலட்சியப்படுத்துகிறான்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலைக் கவனித்து நடக்கிறவனோ விவேகி.A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction is prudent.

6நீதிமானுடைய வீட்டில் அதிக பொக்கிஷம் உண்டு; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வருமானத்திலோ துன்பம் உண்டு.The house of the righteous has great treasure, but the income of the wicked is trouble.

7ஞானிகளின் உதடுகள் அறிவை விதைக்கும்; மூடர்களின் இருதயமோ அப்படியல்ல.The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the hearts of fools.

8துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய பலி கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானது; செம்மையானவர்களின் ஜெபமோ அவருக்குப் பிரியம்.The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

9துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய வழி கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானது; நீதியைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவனையோ அவர் நேசிக்கிறார்.The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.

10வழியைவிட்டு விலகுகிறவனுக்குப் புத்திமதி எரிச்சலாக இருக்கும்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை வெறுக்கிறவன் சாவான்.Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.

11பாதாளமும் அழிவும் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்கு முன்பாக இருக்க, மனுமக்களுடைய இருதயம் அதிகமாக அவர் முன்பாக இருக்குமல்லவோ?Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD—how much more the hearts of men!

12பரியாசக்காரன் தன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவனை நேசிக்கமாட்டான்; ஞானவான்களிடத்தில் போகவுமாட்டான்.A mocker does not love to be reproved, nor will he consult the wise.

13மனமகிழ்ச்சி முகமலர்ச்சியைத் தரும்; மனதுக்கத்தினாலே ஆவி முறிந்துபோகும்.A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.

14புத்திமானுடைய மனம் அறிவைத்தேடும்; மூடர்களின் வாயோ மதியீனத்தை மேயும்.A discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

15சிறுமைப்பட்டவனுடைய நாட்களெல்லாம் தீங்குள்ளவைகள்; மனரம்மியமோ நிரந்தர விருந்து.All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.

16சஞ்சலத்தோடு கூடிய அதிகப் பொருட்களைவிட, கர்த்தரைப் பற்றும் பயத்தோடு கூடிய கொஞ்சப்பொருளே உத்தமம்.Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.

17பகையோடு இருக்கும் கொழுத்த எருதின் கறியைவிட, சிநேகத்தோடு இருக்கும் இலைக்கறியே நல்லது.Better a dish of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox with hatred.

18கோபக்காரன் சண்டையை எழுப்புகிறான்; நீடியசாந்தமுள்ளவனோ சண்டையை அமர்த்துகிறான்.A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.

19சோம்பேறியின் வழி முள்வேலிக்குச் சமம்; நீதிமானுடைய வழியோ ராஜபாதை.The way of the slacker is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

20ஞானமுள்ள மகன் தகப்பனைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துகிறான்; மதியற்ற மனிதனோ தன்னுடைய தாயை அலட்சியப்படுத்துகிறான்.A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

21மூடத்தனம் புத்தியீனனுக்குச் சந்தோஷம்; புத்திமானோ தன்னுடைய செயல்களைச் செம்மைப்படுத்துகிறான்.Folly is joy to one who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding walks a straight path.

22ஆலோசனை இல்லாததால் எண்ணங்கள் சிதைந்துபோகும்; ஆலோசனைக்காரர்கள் அநேகர் இருந்தால் அவைகள் உறுதிப்படும்.Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

23மனிதனுக்குத் தன்னுடைய வாய்மொழியினால் மகிழ்ச்சியுண்டாகும்; ஏற்றகாலத்தில் சொன்ன வார்த்தை எவ்வளவு நல்லது!A man takes joy in a fitting reply—and how good is a timely word!

24கீழான பாதாளத்தைவிட்டு விலகும்படி, விவேகிக்கு வாழ்வின் வழியானது உன்னதத்தை நோக்கும் வழியாகும்.The path of life leads upward for the wise, that he may avoid going down to Sheol.

25அகங்காரியின் வீட்டைக் கர்த்தர் பிடுங்கிப்போடுவார்; விதவையின் எல்லையையோ நிலைப்படுத்துவார்.The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He protects the boundaries of the widow.

26துன்மார்க்கர்களுடைய நினைவுகள் கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானவைகள்; சுத்தமானவர்களுடைய வார்த்தைகளோ இன்பமானவைகள்.The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.

27பொருளாசைக்காரன் தன்னுடைய வீட்டைக் கலைக்கிறான்; லஞ்சங்களை வெறுக்கிறவனோ பிழைப்பான்.He who is greedy for unjust gain brings trouble on his household, but he who hates bribes will live.

28நீதிமானுடைய மனம் பதில் சொல்ல யோசிக்கும்; துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வாயோ தீமைகளைக் கொப்பளிக்கும்.The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil.

29துன்மார்க்கர்களுக்குக் கர்த்தர் தூரமாக இருக்கிறார்; நீதிமான்களின் ஜெபத்தையோ கேட்கிறார்.The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

30கண்களின் ஒளி இருதயத்தைப் பூரிப்பாக்கும்; நற்செய்தி எலும்புகளை ஆரோக்கியமாக்கும்.The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.

31வாழ்வுக்கேதுவான கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் காது ஞானிகளிடத்திலே தங்கும்.He who listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.

32புத்திமதியைத் தள்ளிவிடுகிறவன் தன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவை வெறுக்கிறான்; கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலைக் கேட்கிறவனோ ஞானமடைவான்.He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.

33கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதல் ஞானத்தைப் போதிக்கும்; மேன்மைக்கு முன்னானது தாழ்மை.The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
