WBS Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, If any man of you shall bring an offering to the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock. BSB BSB: “Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the LORD, you may bring as your offering an animal from the herd or the flock.
WBS If his offering shall be a burnt-sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. BSB BSB: If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to present an unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for its acceptance before the LORD.
WBS And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt-offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. BSB BSB: He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, so it can be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.
WBS And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood around upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. BSB BSB: And he shall slaughter the young bull before the LORD, and Aaron’s sons the priests are to present the blood and splatter it on all sides of the altar at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
WBS And he shall flay the burnt-offering, and cut it into its pieces, BSB BSB: Next, he is to skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.
WBS And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire. BSB BSB: The sons of Aaron the priest shall put a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
WBS And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar. BSB BSB: Then Aaron’s sons the priests are to arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, atop the burning wood on the altar.
WBS But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt-sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD. BSB BSB: The entrails and legs must be washed with water, and the priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
WBS And if his offering be of the flocks, namely , of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt-sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish. BSB BSB: If, however, one’s offering is a burnt offering from the flock—from the sheep or goats—he is to present an unblemished male.
WBS And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood around upon the altar: BSB BSB: He shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the LORD, and Aaron’s sons the priests are to splatter its blood against the altar on all sides.
WBS And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar: BSB BSB: He is to cut the animal into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and fat, atop the burning wood that is on the altar.
WBS But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD. BSB BSB: The entrails and legs must be washed with water, and the priest shall present all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
WBS And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD shall be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtle doves, or of young pigeons. BSB BSB: If, instead, one’s offering to the LORD is a burnt offering of birds, he is to present a turtledove or a young pigeon.
WBS And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and wring off its head, and burn it on the altar: and its blood shall be wrung out at the side of the altar: BSB BSB: Then the priest shall bring it to the altar, twist off its head, and burn it on the altar; its blood should be drained out on the side of the altar.
WBS And he shall pluck away its crop with its feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes: BSB BSB: And he is to remove the crop with its contents and throw it to the east side of the altar, in the place for ashes.
WBS And he shall cleave it with its wings, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD. BSB BSB: He shall tear it open by its wings, without dividing the bird completely. And the priest is to burn it on the altar atop the burning wood. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
